Huge congrats gimble and thelegendofbeans - hope that you and your little ones are both doing well Smile

xflipflopx · 13/10/2017 07:35

 Congratulations @GimbleInTheWabe and @TheLegendOfBeans.
Coming thick and fast now.

mummabubs · 13/10/2017 07:37

Congratulations legend!! 😁 So many babies seem to be coming at once!

Hope your last day goes well boxes, well done for making it!

Ive had another night of broken sleep but woken up with no pains. The only thing that seems to have changed is my cold seems to be coming back! 😩🙈 Looks like I'll be needed that second stretch and sweep tomorrow after all!

TippetyTapWriter · 13/10/2017 07:41

Huge congrats legend! Hope his breathing sorts itself. My ds had similar (transient tachypnea I think it was called).

He's gorgeous gimble. But shocked they made you wait 50 mins! But at least it all went ok. Hope your stitches heal quickly.

Technically I'm due today by my nhs scan date but I'm trying to stick to my original date of Sunday as I think it's more accurate given we only dtd once so I know exactly when I conceived. Either way baby shows no sign of going anywhere! Seeing midwife today and consultant on Monday. Might get booked in for a section at 40+12 and hope like hell baby comes by herself much sooner!

asilikeit · 13/10/2017 08:55

Congratulations Legend!
Im so very jealous of these babies coming before their due dat/ on time!

I have a sweep this morning, after a night of being fairly crampy so hoping cervix has progressed some more! However it's not the birthday treat I imagined for myself 😂.

Hope everyone has a great day 😊

Bobbiepin · 13/10/2017 09:18

Congrats @legend, hope to hear more soon.

SophieGiroux · 13/10/2017 09:25

Happy birthday @asilikeit!

Nessalina · 13/10/2017 10:44

Happy birthday @TheLegendOfBeans Hope baby leaves I until tomorrow at least so you get to keep your birthday to yourself!!

Amazing @GimbleInTheWabe ! You did so well. They are a bit guilty in maternity assessment of thinking that first time mums are over egging it a bit, so I hope they learned their lesson with you being nearly ready to pop after 50mins!! Baby is gorgeous HaloFlowersStar

Daydreamer88 · 13/10/2017 13:29

Hi all! Haven't posted in so long (it might have been thread 3! Blush) but feeling the need for the mumsnet support so hope it's ok to pop up here again. I'm 39+3 and SO ready for LO now!! I'm just so bored and uncomfortable... and overanalysing Every. Single. Sensation. 🙄

So excited to see message from those of you who have reached the finish line (or start line, depending on how you look at it!). Huge Congratulations @GimbleInTheWabe and @TheLegendOfBeans!

greentreeseverywhere · 13/10/2017 13:41

can anyone give me any different tips for constipation iv tried all the normal onesEnvy

gracey1 · 13/10/2017 14:28

Sick. Sick and sick! Lol. Have had pains since Wednesday on and off, last night I was convinced “this is it”! It wasn’t ...

Have seen Midwife this morning and booked in for sweep next Thursday and then induction on 23rd so feeling better that there is some light at the end of the tunnel!

I’ve been having clear mucus (last toilet visit it was a bit green) sorry tmi!! discharge all day, does anyone know if with that could be the start whether this could be it? I haven’t had any tightenings or horrendous tummy pain since around 2am this morning. Midwife also told me to take wedding ring off due to swelling but I can’t then commented on my feet!

Congrats to all those who have had their lovely babies xxx

SophieGiroux · 13/10/2017 18:03

What have you tried so far @greentreeseverywhere? I've been taking fybogel twice a day pretty much the whole pregnancy but I still find I'm not as regular as pre-pregnancy! Dried apricots are quite good and there's lactulose which takes a few days to work.
Prune juice was always good for my DD when she suffered as a baby.

pollybythesea · 13/10/2017 22:29

Hey greentreeseverywhere you're not alone, this has just hit me hard too this week at 39+4 - my diet hasn't changed a bit and always v high fibre so all I can think is its hormones? I thought the opposite was meant to happen before labour tho!? Trying prunes, apricots and lots of water but it's pretty bad.

xflipflopx · 14/10/2017 07:49

How is everyone today?
9 days till my due date so still a while to go for me.
9 days feels like 9 years at the moment

mrsbumblebees · 14/10/2017 08:10

I feel the same flipflop - 5 days till my due date but might as well be 5 years. I'm convinced I'll go well over that too! I'm so impatient!!!

mummabubs · 14/10/2017 08:16

I'm 41 weeks today (afraid to say that for me the last week feels like a millennia @xflipflopx !) 🙈 You're nearly there (you too bumble!, hope your little ones don't keep you waiting too much longer!)

I feel sick and uncomfortable and have very intense back pain, but it's constant pain and in my mid as opposed to lower back so I'm still convinced I've just strained a muscle. Got my second stretch and sweep booked for this afternoon in an attempt to get bean moving, fingers crossed. Pretty sure I lost some of my plug after the last one so maybe this will do it!

I've resorted to magical thinking in other ways though- I've realised that 5 years ago today is the anniversary of when I walked a marathon in a day for charity... and they say labour is like running a marathon... so clearly by that logic Bubbabean has just been waiting for today to remind me that I did it once and can do it again. Makes so much sense right?! 🙈

SophieGiroux · 14/10/2017 12:59

2 days until due date! Although it's 6 days by my calculations. I want to avoid induction if at all possible, I had a stretch and sweep last time that resulted in a 3 day labour and forceps delivery. This time I want everything as natural as possible. Starting to get a bit uncomfortable at night but I'd rather that than a horrendous birth again resulting in a very fretful baby.

xflipflopx · 14/10/2017 15:20

bumble I’m convinced I’m going over too...they put me forward 3 days at 12 weeks but that would put me in the middle of AF Confused
Mumma hope your sweep has gone well. With my first I went to 41 weeks.
The weeks have gone quite fast but I seem to be way ahead of myself at 37 weeks I was already thinking well I’ll be 38 in a couple of days and I think me doing that has actually made it feel longer (if that makes any sense at all) like today 38+5...in my head I’m already 39...
I know we will all be on the other thread saying can’t believe so and so is now 4 weeks old very soon.

TippetyTapWriter · 14/10/2017 15:34

I'm either 1 day over or have 1 day to go depending what date I go by. Feel like I'm resigned to going way over. I was getting the odd twinge and bit of back ache but discovered at midwife check yesterday that apparently I have a uti so possibly the discomfort is just from that. On antibiotics now. Annoying to get to 40 weeks then have the first uti I've ever had! Midwife said head was too low for her to feel so I guess that means pretty much fully engaged? Weirdly this close to due date I feel less like I'm close to labour than before!

Good luck mummabubs! Really hope baby doesn't keep you waiting much longer!

mummabubs · 14/10/2017 15:49

Back from second sweep- apparently the student midwife who did sweep number 1 should not have told me that my cervix was "soft, 1cm dilated and labourable" as it's actually very posterior, thick and unfavourable. The midwife today tried to convince my cervix to come forward but she thinks realistically I'll need at least 2 more sweeps to stand any chance of going into labour naturally before my induction date deadline, I'm so gutted 😩😩 Feel like kissing my MLU water birth dream goodbye now as it's not looking at all likely and sounds like I'll be headed straight for the full 42 weeks. I just wish I hadn't been told things looked better at my last appointment as now I feel like I got my hopes up unnecessarily... pity party for one over here!

Hope everyone else's weekends are going well and those of you with due dates approaching see your little ones arrive before too long!

butterybean · 14/10/2017 15:50

3 days to go here...bean feels really cozy, so I don't think anything is happening anytime soon. Had some period pain type cramping today though. DP is on emergency tree surgery all day tomorrow ahead of the storm coming in so hopefully will stay in for a few more days. Starting to get uncomfortable now though after a really good third trimester....

TheLegendOfBeans · 14/10/2017 18:45

I'm mad for you mummabubs as that's what happened to me with DD.

Get yourself mentally prepped for induction but realistically a CS if your cervix is in the same state at the start of induction.

We are still in hospital. Whopping afterpains and DS has a wee cough. Still feel like a burst sofa after the section but being crazy in love with squidgy baby is great x

mummabubs · 14/10/2017 19:10

Fingers crossed for you @butterybean and hope you're recovering ok @TheLegendOfBeans ... loving the gathering of bean-related usernames! 😂

I've actually done a bit of googling and posted a thread about being in my position and I've got a sprinkling of hope back that I might still get things to kick off naturally- apparently it's not uncommon in first pregnancies for cervical changes to happen quickly and at the last minute so whilst things aren't looking so good right now maybe my body will sort itself out in time. ...
Fingers crossed!

TippetyTapWriter · 14/10/2017 19:13

Oh mummsbubs I'm sorry, how frustrating!! I know student midwives are just learning but maybe they ought to get things double checked. The one at my last appointment measured me 3cm behind my dates but I was actually bang on when the other midwife checked it.

You still have a week to go. Have my fingers crossed for you.

Hope you both get home soon legend.

mummabubs · 14/10/2017 20:34

I know, to be honest I feel that's the qualified midwife's responsibility to double check though, which mine didn't. I'm a recently qualified NHS professional and have students on placement with me so completely appreciate the need for learning experiences... but it's also partly why I've said in my birth plan I don't want any doctors in training or students in the room, just the minimal staff necessary. The student I had was so lovely (actually much more people-skilled than my usual midwife!) but have to say I've had enough of being the guinea pig. Had one student who plotted my growth measurement incorrectly (midwife didn't check that either and nearly sent me for a scan when I pointed out that I didn't need one!) and then when I did have to go to the AOU last week it was 10pm at night and I was put on a monitor for "20 minutes" which then became over an hour purely because the student midwife (who I hasten to add was also lovely) could try some different skills. I wasn't asked at any stage if I was happy for a student to provide my care (which I always ask so I get pernickety about this!) and it was past 11pm by the time they let me go home, I was bloody knackered!!! 🙈
