Hey boxes, sending big hugs.

Nothing overnight at all, apart from waking up at 4am starving but thats pretty standard. DP is self employed and this time of the year is the busiest so its hard not knowing whats going on, im just booking work in for him regardless.

Had loads of sex, curry, pineapple, long walks - and everything else. Its all doing sweet fa.

DPs busy today and tomorrow on a job now so I'm kinda hoping it stays in till Wed now. I don't think it will be an October baby for me although a halloween baby tomorrow would be cool. Going for more monitoring tomorrow and then will relent and get induced on Wed at 40+15. DP has a few days off with his other two kids for half term on Thurs and Fri so that kinda works. Was hoping for lovely hypnowaterbirth but I'm thinking that idea may be out of the window now.

I've been fed up of being pg since week 2 so having extra bonus pregnant time seems so unfair!

Hope we meet our babies soon xxxx

boxesoffrogs · 30/10/2017 17:55

Hugs back buttery, it almost feels like doing extra time now when everyone else is has been released for good behaviour! 😂 such a drama queen! Yep, tried all the same stuff... ugh, just ugh. I can't decide whether a Halloween baby would be cool or not, but right now, I am really not fussed either way. Just feels like it will never end.. was bricking it about the whole birth part before (my first, incase you couldn't tell!), but now I am just wanting it over and done with! Xx

mrsbumblebees that's what I am scared of! With all this extra cooking, she is going to be a giant by the time she's here! Hope you and Thea are getting on well

pollybythesea · 30/10/2017 17:57

Hey everyone, finally went into spontaneous labour at 41+4 last Thurs 26th, and delivered Bonnie Rosalind at 7pm weighing 7lbs8. She is healthy and alert and has a really full head of hair! Delivery was quite long & traumatic, there was poop in waters when they broke & so homebirth went out the window- then she was back to back, but using hypnobirthing techniques to stay totally focussed and in the moment, I did the whole 9hr labour with just some gas & air when pushing. My partner was levering his entire body weight into my lower back with each contraction to act as counter pressure. God knows how we did it, and afterwards I had a total white out and had to be put on a drip, but home now and everyone healing well. Thinking of those still waiting to meet their gorgeous babies - it won't be long & you will all be amazing! Xx

TheLegendOfBeans · 30/10/2017 21:55

Fabulous name @pollybythesea major congrats!

All the feels ladies who are now massively into extra time. DD went to 42w and I recall week 41+ being the pits.

If you’re in week 40 and getting impatient, make heaps of plans to meet folk/get nails done/go out for amazing lunches then watch baby come along and shoot all plans out the water...maybe

Sending big love x

PingusMistress · 31/10/2017 01:08

Congratulations @pollybythesea ! Sounds like the birth was a tough ordeal but you did an amazing job.

Hoping that Halloween encourages your little pumpkins to come out @boxesoffrogs @butterybean and anyone else still waiting.

Well done polly, huge congratulations!

boxesoffrogs · 31/10/2017 09:12

polly congrats, and absolutely loving the name! Hope you are recovering well, sounds very dramatic xx

STILL NO BLINKING BABY! Just going to resign myself for the induction on Saturday... going to try your plan legendofbeans, make a hair appointment for tomorrow and see if she decides to make me remain highlight-less for the foreseeable future... xx

buttery - any joy???

butterybean · 31/10/2017 20:30

So induction has started! Hopefully will have a baby in 24hrs....so far experience has been good - its been in for galf an hour and I can feel its definitely doing something!

DP is heading home tonight and coming back tomorrow.

If you're going for induction see if you can get an evening one as it gives overnight for it to kick in.

Good luck xx

boxesoffrogs · 31/10/2017 23:19

Good luck buttery I'll be thinking of you tonight, hope to see good news in the morning!! Xxx

boxesoffrogs · 01/11/2017 00:09

Ps mine is at 8am so no such luck...

butterybean · 02/11/2017 18:37

How are you doing @boxes?

I'm on 48hrs of induction now and nothing is happening!

boxesoffrogs · 02/11/2017 20:55

Oh god buttery, you poor thing! I keep checking here to see your good news! Why is nothing happening??

Still nothing here, need to ring up tomorrow morning to see if that have space to induce me. If not, then it's going to be sat as planned. Although if your experience is anything to go by, I may not even have a baby by midweek 😫 have they kept you in??

mummabubs · 03/11/2017 09:31

Just popping back here to reassure you @boxesoffrogs, people told me my baby would be massive given how overdue he was and all the "extra cooking"- I had him at 42+1 and he was 7lb 11, only 1 oz more than he was predicted to be at 40 weeks! There is hope 😊 Got my fingers and toes crossed that you have your baby soon, they can't stay in there forever! Xx

butterybean · 03/11/2017 15:10

The pessary induction didn't work, so my lovely hypnowaterbirth wasn't an option anymore, and at 16 days overdue consultants were getting twitchy.

So this morning at 6am i was put on a drip, epidural put in and im now in labour trying to get to 5cm. The entire process is now managed for me. Even weeing.

I'm not feeling a single bit of pain. Chatting to the midwife while contracting. Being examined at 4 to see how I'm doing.

If this doesn't work im

butterybean · 03/11/2017 15:12

Oops...sorry, little bit high from the epidural Grin

Its section next if i havent contracted, but we can give the drip more time as baby is fine.

Its all very chilled out to be fair....

butterybean · 03/11/2017 15:17

Ive been in since tuesday night, been allowed to walk around the grounds to try to kick start labour, but otherwise kept on the ward...

boxesoffrogs · 04/11/2017 00:53

Had a quite frankly shockingly bad induction this morning. Been on labour word since I was raced back into triage at 12pm. Joy.

Hospital refusing me more pethidine (was last given at 9), ran out of gas and air and requested it refilled at 8pm, been sick every time I have tried to drink something, finally given some anti sickness injection at 8.45pm. Have a drip on my hand for fluids via a canula, but dp realised that the bag had run out and blood was slowly creeping down.

So tired and fed up. Abuttery you have my upmost sympathy... sorry for the self righteous moan.

Bobbiepin · 04/11/2017 02:15

Oh @boxes you poor thing, hang in there, it'll be over soon (I hope). They are so worth it when they arrive. Thinking of you Flowers

TippetyTapWriter · 04/11/2017 02:20

Oh boxes I'm sorry! Poor you! I hope they start taking better care of you soon and baby appears quickly so you can at least get your reward for all this. Best of luck x

And good luck too buttery! Hope things have progressed by now and you're somewhere recovering and getting to know your new baby x

mrsbumblebees · 04/11/2017 09:47

Oh no boxes so sorry to hear you are having a bad time. Really hope it's not too long before you are cuddling your new arrival, can't wait for updates from you and buttery - best wishes to you both! Xx

TheLegendOfBeans · 04/11/2017 11:00

Holy shit @boxesoffrogs are you being treated in the 1890s?!

I really hope that things progress soon and that remember - every minute that passes brings you closer to your baby.

I am really rooting for you - induction is a hard slog and no small undertaking.

Hope @butterybean is getting on great too x

boxesoffrogs · 04/11/2017 17:41

Well, it did feel a bit like the 1980's yesterday, being the little woman making a fuss etc... and it really was bloody painful, back to back contractions dilating til the grand old 1cm... so long story short, got put on an epidural because my waters then broke with meconium in them...

Anyhoo, long story short, they stuck me on the epidural which was the most amazing thing ever, then put me on the hormone drip to make things move. Did a bit of pushing as she was getting distressed on the monitor , with every contraction (that obviously I couldn't feel, hallelujah!!!) she was born at 12.10pm today, weighing 5lb 5... which when consider she was nearly two weeks overdue, is flipping tiny.

Right, story over. Stitches rather painful, and need to stay in til tomorrow to monitor her because of her size and her meconium...

How's you buttery???

TippetyTapWriter · 04/11/2017 18:02

Wow boxes sounds like you had the full works. Well done you. Congratulations!! Hope you get some well deserved rest. Sure your dd is just small but perfect. I was born after term at 6lbs and a friend just went two weeks over and had a 6lber.

GimbleInTheWabe · 04/11/2017 18:51

Congrats @boxesoffrogs! I’m sorry to hear that the experience wasn’t ideal ( for want of a better word!!) I’m sure holding your little one makes it all worthwhile though.
And don’t worry too much about the stitches- I had a 3rd degree tear and now three weeks on the stitches have dissolved and everything seems normal down there. Also they give you lots of lovely pain medication so once the swelling went down I actually didn’t have any pain there at all.
Enjoy and take lots of pictures- they change so quickly!! Also come over to the grads thread Grin

PingusMistress · 05/11/2017 05:20

Well done @boxesoffrogs , that sounds like quite an ordeal! Very pleased that you and your DD are safe and well. She is so tiny, I bet newborn clothes are way too big for her!
