@boxes at long last!! Congratulations! Maybe they got your dates wrong with bubba being so small and late. Take all the pain relief and support you can in the hospital and sleep as much as possible. Big hugs

Hi everyone! We're doing great here. Our little boy arrived at 10.20am yesterday by emergency c-section. I spent 84 hours being induced, only to reach 4cm with a very fat cervix still. During the drip stage the epidural failed so I screamed tje place down for 3 hours while i waited for new one to be put in. It was hellish.... Ive got a slupped disc in my back and need to stay mobile all the time so being on a bed connected to lots of monitors for 12 hrs was very painful.

He was 9lb and back to back - consultant said I'd have never got him out naturally even if cervix was playing ball.

So 18 days overdue in total, but despite not getting the hypnowaterbirth Id have liked, we are overjoyed, hes perfect.

Congrats butterybean! Sounds like you also had quite an ordeal. Sure your ds is worth the wait though! Hope you get a chance to recover and rest x

Oh my god @butterybean my jaw actually dropped reading your post. I’m so pleased baby is here and well done for even having the mental energy to post an update after that lot!

Am I right in thinking that’s the last of our October arrivals?

And if it is can someone tell me why I’ve just shed a wee tear thinking that this thread is now de facto closed?

—still an emotional wreck 24 days on—

We're both doing so well. Very difficult pregnancy for me and a birth that didnt go to plan and was highly medicalised, but we're safe now and loving getting to know each other.

Thanks for the thread ladies (weep)...
