Aww mummabubs, that is the definition of true love! ❤️

I can understand you having a bit of a wobble asilikeit, it doesn’t seem like long for you to recover at all. I’m sure you can dig your heels in if you don’t feel up to going home yet. Although having some home comforts around would be nice too.

All seems to have stopped here, no more cramps or plug so maybe it was just a bit of a practice run!

Same here @pingusmistress - there seems to be a few of us stop-starting our way through this!

Just so tired to do anything so all my days are blurring into one long movie & slice of cake on the sofa and candlelit baths trying to bring on the oxytocin Smile I mean it sounds perfect.... but I feel totally out of control! Just wish I had some idea what was gonna happen next...

PingusMistress · 21/10/2017 21:35

So after my last post about nothing happening, I’ve now lost a lot more plug with some pink and red streaks. I’m feeling a lot of pressure low down too. Maybe nothing else will happen for a few days but I’m following your lead @pollybythesea and eating a Magnum for oxytocin, then having an early night!

Got my fingers crossed for you girls. Mine has one more day left to hang in there for DSIL's wedding tomorrow and then she can come! Praying she holds off!

xflipflopx · 22/10/2017 07:31

@asilikeit I hope your happier now about going home. No experience on a section but it would worry me too.
@PingusMistress sounds exciting things are kicking off for you...I’ve been losing jelly but not blood stained or pink for three days, I can feel baby in the pelvis now so something happening but not quick enough for me.
Hope you well on your way now...
@pollybythesea I’m the same googling ways to release oxytocin but nothing is working. Due tomorrow.
@Bobbiepin I hope you get the wedding out the way today...you’ll relax after the service and go into labour I bet! Grin

boxesoffrogs · 22/10/2017 08:10

Congrats asilikeit!

Due date here. No signs. At all. Huh. Going to go out for a long walk and then for a Sunday lunch with family. Maybe I can force her out by eating lots of food so there is no space???

mrsbumblebees · 22/10/2017 08:39

Sorry it's taken me so long to share an update, the last week has been a bit of a whirlwind! After absolutely no signs or symptoms the day before, our little girl Thea Isabelle put in a surprise appearance on Monday at 39+4. And despite 3 growth scans and a bump that measured very small all along, she weighs a respectable 8lbs 1oz! After a night of cramps my waters ended up going in Tesco cafe (!) mid-morning and from there the contractions got fast and furious pretty quickly! Thankfully all was pretty straightforward and she arrived by 9.15pm.

Thinking of everyone still waiting and hope that it's not too much longer for you xxx

xflipflopx · 22/10/2017 13:10

Congratulations @mrsbumblebees Flowers

PingusMistress · 22/10/2017 13:35

Just a quick update to let you know Pingu Junior arrived at 5am, five hours from first contraction, weighing 6lb 13. He is still nameless but we are working on it! Hoping to be discharged from hospital later today so he can go home to meet his big sister. Will post the full story later! X

So jealous!! Enjoy newborn cuddles!

TheLegendOfBeans · 22/10/2017 14:22

OH MY GOSH BABIES!!

Congrats @mrsbumblebees and @pingusmistress Smile

TippetyTapWriter · 22/10/2017 15:03

Wow congrats pingu and mrsbumble! Lovely news.

Maybe eating Magnums is a new induction tip... any excuse! I've now less than 24hrs for baby to arrive of her own volition before my section tomorrow. Had some strong braxton hicks earlier but nothing else.

Bobbiepin · 22/10/2017 22:27

SO many babies!! CONGRATS!! Babypin has made it through the wedding, so she can come any time now!

mummabubs · 23/10/2017 06:15

We've also got news in that as of 5:08am yesterday Bubbabean is finally on the outside and it's a boy! 😊 Things progressed well after just the pessary and my waters went of their own accord. I was able to have an active first stage of labour which was lovely. Managed to get to fully dilated with just the (fixed!) TENS machine and gas and air, but after hours of pushing it became clear something wasn't happening as it should- which I attributed as being down to me having less than an hour's sleep in the last 72 hours so I began to think I was just too tired to give birth but turns out during labour our little acrobat pickle had gone back to back, got the cord wrapped round his neck 3 times and managed to pin his arm up in the process?! Bubbabean's heart rate was dropping and I was absolutely exhausted from the pain. Cue emergency dash to theatre at 5am, where I had a spinal, forceps and episiotomy. Definitely not the low key birth I thought I'd have but as soon as I saw him being brought over the curtains in theatre and saw DH crying everything felt worth it. I'm starting to recover slowly, so we're still in hospital but hoping to be discharged today.

Love seeing how many babies have suddenly come in the last few days! 😊

TheLegendOfBeans · 23/10/2017 06:32

I'm so pleased @mummbubs

That's a pretty full on delivery by the sounds of it... take care of yourself in these early days and congrats on the wee one!

TippetyTapWriter · 23/10/2017 07:11

Congrats mummabubs! Sounds like you did amazing. Enjoy getting to know your ds, wishing you a speedy recovery.

No sudden labour for me last night so I'm off to hospital today for another section. Really not what I hoped for but so long as baby comes out healthy this time and I get to hold her rather than having her rushed off to scbu I'll be a very happy mum.

How are you doing asilikeit? Did you get discharged? Hope you're recovering well. I'm dreading it to be honest, the pain was horrible last time.

xflipflopx · 23/10/2017 07:42

YAY! congratulations @mummabubs finally...
Can I ask what did he weigh? Just out of interest being so overdue.
Good luck today @TippetyTapWriter yourll have yours soon.
Today is my due date and nothing...
So mentally ready now but nothings happening Envy come on baby!

Bobbiepin · 23/10/2017 07:54

Yes @mummabubs! Amazing news, you absolute hero. Take care of yourself!

Good luck today @tippety, you'll have your baby soon, how exciting.

TheLegendOfBeans · 23/10/2017 08:59

Good luck today @TippetyTapWriter - I'm excited for you x

mummabubs · 23/10/2017 10:39

Thanks everyone! 😊

Happy due date @xflipflopx and I feel this justifies my rant re due dates and fixed ideas about how long pregnancy should last- 7lb 11, which is lower than me or my sisters who were all born at 42+ weeks! My theory is he just needed the extra cooking time or that our due date wasn't very accurate... either way not the utter whopper I was dreading having to push out! 😂 xxx

pollybythesea · 23/10/2017 12:31

Hey congrats @mummabubs! Hope you're feeling well looked after today. How exciting! Sounds like a munchkin already!

41+1 here, declining induction and going for 'expectant management' if I go over and all stays healthy - anyone else? @tamepanda how are you feeling?

How are you @pingusmistress? Any more symptoms? Hope everyone is having a good start to the week x

pollybythesea · 23/10/2017 12:32

Oh @pingusmistress I just saw your news!! Congrats! Can't keep up !

tamepanda · 23/10/2017 14:30

@mummabubs congratulations on your little arrival! I’m so excited for you!! Hopefully you’ll have a quick recovery and on your way home soon!

@pollybythesea I’m still pregnant too Envythat’s me bang on 41 weeks today. Had a MW appointment today and I’ve been booked in for an induced for Saturday evening unless I go before then. Had a sweep today and feeing a little crampy since so hopefully things will start moving along.

Not sure if I’ve said before but because we’re on an island the only equipment we have on the island is the same you’d get at a home birth as it’s a cottage hospital here, inflatable birth pool and a Doppler. So in order to be induced means I have to travel to the mainland.

I can refuse the pessary on Saturday night but will have to stay overnight to be monitored. And once I get to 42 weeks, unless I’ve already been induced, I have to travel to the mainland twice a week for monitoring and the usual testing (a cost of £50 a trip to take the car) and I can only come back home in between monitoring sessions if they allow the midwife cover to be extended as there’s only 1 midwife on the island normally. So if I’m not in labour by 4pm Saturday or have given birth I’m off to the mainland until I’m induced or go into labour naturally.

I’ve always said I would refused to be induced again but DD1 (21 months) has never been away from me over night so I can see myself agreeing to be induced purely so I can get home to be with my DD and not being stuck on the mainland indefinitely. All in all I’m feeling very deflated / upset about it and on the birthing ball giving it laldy

mrsbumblebees · 23/10/2017 14:55

Just wanted to say huge congratulations to all the mummies with new arrivals, lack of sleep has meant I've not kept up with the thread (!) But I wanted to wish you all the best Smile

Well done to all those of you still waiting, you are doing fab and I'm thinking of you all! Xxx
