i know it doesn't quite rhyme but it does nearly, and it's completely inoffensive to everyone but Eddas

this isn't funny!
Where the &*% is it?

Katy44 · 10/04/2007 14:26

Well it's turned up but too late for me to go to the post office before so I might as well hand around for a few more mins.
runny - if you did, it would have been money well spent to bring it on!

runnyhabbit · 10/04/2007 14:36

thats a very good point

geordiemacminx · 10/04/2007 14:39

hey hensden - congrats to you. how brill - another baby boy after yr waters went. did yr other 2 sleep through it and was yr mum able to manage the stairs?? great for you and cant wait to hear more!!!
good luck to the other ladies in waiting - seems like the queue is backing up a bit (stop shoving at the back!) - surely we are due a real onslaught of labours??

hey gmm - where you in glasgow? just back myself - every time i am in - i keep a look out for another red head with a bump!

speakign of bumps - liek katy and pesha i get the pointy bump at certain angles but i am more concerned about the "underhang" that is developing. jeez - no-one warned me about the dart player belly........

EllieKthePA · 10/04/2007 14:51

WO - managed to talk them out of the city centre - went to Braehead, although they had been there 4 hours when I left and still hadnt finsihed - then they were off to the retail park and ikea, and possibly the fort on the way back.. madness I tell you!!

Oh I made a HUGE pavalova yesterday, and filled it with fresh cream and strawberries if anyone would like Bigonion to bring them over a wedge????!!!

weeonion · 10/04/2007 15:06

jeez - did they buy you anything lovely???? are they staying with you tonight??
also - i thought it was completely off of that assistant in M&P to not let you know straight off that she wasnt actually pregnant. could at least have stopped you once you said it instead of letting it get a bit more emabrassing. c'mon consumer warrior that you are!!!

woudl love a bit of pavlova - in fact - email me yr recipe???

geordiemacminx · 10/04/2007 15:13

No - they were buying stuff for the boys - Kel is 11 and Keiran is 13 - so we were in every single sports shop known to man - TWICE!!!!

I'm gonna send a letter of complaint to M&P...might get some vouchers or something...

Will do!!!

EllieKthePA · 10/04/2007 15:13

Hi Katy,

I too lost my wee sample in the house today, still havnwe't found it! Will probbly find it in weeks to come and it will be completely manky!!! I had to do an emergency little one and take it to my appt this pm in - wait for it,a choice of shot glass or egg cup with cling film over the top. I went for the shot glass!

Still they had a laugh!, at least this time I forgot the sample bottle (well lost it) my sample didn't leak all over my handbag so must be greatful for small mercies!

I'm still only 2/5 engaged, and have back ache from hell - feeling quite fed up now and want baby to stop swinging its bum from side to side across my belly and think about checking out hotel Mand!!!

Pesha · 10/04/2007 15:16

Ooo GMM dont email your recipe, post it here so we can all enjoy

Katy44 · 10/04/2007 15:20

LLL - lovely thought of you going to your appointment with the shot glass held out in front of you!

Katy44 · 10/04/2007 15:22

At my appointment the heartbeat seemed a bit faint. She wondered if he was back to back, but said when she squished him (my word, not hers) it didn't feel like that. She didn't explain much more, and didn't see worried, but I don't know what to assume from that. Surely if there was a problem the heartbeat would be erratic or slow (it was normal, just faint). Is he back to back? Did she not have enough gel on her stick (she did seem very stingy)?

EllieKthePA · 10/04/2007 15:22

ok, i know it's a bit late now but i've been looking at TENS. I have one but it's not maternity so doesn't have the boost button.

i've looked on the boots website and it's £30 to hire one, or i can buy one for £45 that can be used as a normal pain-relief one after. i'm tempted to just buy one cos at least then if it comes after i give birth i've got it forever IYSWIM. what do you think?

OP posts:
EllieKthePA · 10/04/2007 15:23

PMSL at mw being stingy Katy

maybe he wasn't back to back but not forward either, a bit sideways so reading a bit faint, i know mine's done that!

OP posts:
Katy44 · 10/04/2007 15:24

Well they do give you quite a long extension - I think 3 weeks after your due date, so you shouldn't need it.
I thought you couldn't use the non-maternity ones for labour?

Katy44 · 10/04/2007 15:24

Well I wish he'd make his mid up
Plus how come whatever position he's in he can get a foot out of my right hand side? Does he have incredible bendy legs??

Katy44 · 10/04/2007 15:25

mind, sorry.
And he's 2/5 engaged, forehead and eyes as she put it!

EllieKthePA · 10/04/2007 15:28

i like your mw, she sounds fun!

they tell you to have a special unit but the only difference is the boost button, and it's just a way to get more money out of us!

i was thinking more that then i'd have it for the future, i got a lot of back pain with matthew in the first year, as mine is rather old now and keeps being borrowed!

OP posts:
Katy44 · 10/04/2007 15:31

I knew it was a con!
Well it seems like not much extra to pay to have it for good then - that's what I'd do.

Lusciousladylush · 10/04/2007 15:37

are tens machines really any good? I've heard good and bad and didn't bother with my first - anyone swear by them??

Also Katy, I've often had a MW who couldn't find the heartbeat, I think some of them are just a bit dozy... I mean babies moving around and def. kicking and they say...hmmm can't find a heartbeat?! DOH! I tell you love - its definitely alive and pratsising kick boxing!.

Glad you like the shot glass! To make it worse it had a mad scots man on it flashing whats under his kilt! tee hee hee!!!!!

geordiemacminx · 10/04/2007 15:37

so where do I get one from then???

I was thinking of buying one as then I can sell it on ebay?

EllieKthePA · 10/04/2007 15:40

this is the one i'm looking at buying
