i know it doesn't quite rhyme but it does nearly, and it's completely inoffensive to everyone but Eddas

Good boy! (to ellie´s baby..)

Thanks for that Zazas.. but are you sure you aren´t just lying to me to make me feel better??!

Feel like a zombie but come hell or high water I AM going to make my waxing/ eyelash tint appt. Mum coming to get me in about 15 mins.. think by the time I get back I´ll be just about ready for a nice long nap

Dh thinks I´m nuts.. as I was lolling in bed making ´poor me´ noises, he asked if he should call my Mum and say I couldn´t make it today. HELL NO! I can NOT risk my nether regions going a single day more in their current state. Dear Lord what was he THINKING?

EllieKthePA · 10/04/2007 09:44

calm yourselves please ladies,

it wasn't the words we used but the sentiment.
with the recent events on the may thread it was thought that wishing our babies would just get on with it, when others are not as fortunate as to have them at all, was a little insensitive.

now i personaally think they were being oversensitive themselves, there is always something that could upset someone, i can see their point and the other thread doesn't have the same meaning behind it IYSWIM

and it's disappeared now anyway, r would have done if Katy hadn't posted

I agreed at the time (and still do) that the title could cause offence, which is why I apologised and created another one without arguing.
But this one, surely is a very similar sentiment - "Bugger the babies"? And it's a chat thing that I assume yesterday was permanently in active conversations? But no-one has mentioned it? I'm not talking about Aitch specifically - there were plenty of people on that thread who were agreeing and saying they would have started a thread themselves if she hadn't.
I'd like to say we have better things to do...but I don't! Well I could hang my washing out, dust and hoover the baby's room and clean the kitchen but I'm doing such a good job of avoiding that at the moment it seems a shame to stop.

EllieKthePA · 10/04/2007 09:54

it wasn't actually in active convos that much at all really, and died off pretty quick too.

guess we just have to accept that the 'regulars' won't get viewed quite as we do

OP posts:
EllieKthePA · 10/04/2007 09:55

why do i carry a gigantic handbag only to find it's virtually empty?!

OP posts:
eca · 10/04/2007 09:56

I know what you mean ellie, but the complaints are usually about the thread title in active convos, no matter what the meaning is behind it (ie, minty sperm was about gaviscon, not blow jobs!) but, no-one seems to mind about this one and it's just as insensitive as ours was.

It's just a bit of a wind-up. I'm not going to take it up though, don't think i could cope with the wrath of MN at the moment! I also think it's really easy to get into misunderstandings on here because you don't know people/can't see how they express what they write down etc.

Katy44 · 10/04/2007 09:59

Why do I carry a tiny handbag and loads of other stuff cos I can't fit anything in it?

eca · 10/04/2007 09:59

i always have a huge bag that's full! Why do i carry so much rubbish round with me!!???!!!

Katy44 · 10/04/2007 10:00

ellie (and anyone else), as an ebay super user, please have a look at my thread in chat if you have time. It's not important, just me being nosey!

eca · 10/04/2007 10:00

we clearly have "handbag" issues!!

eca, I used to have a huge bag but then got a tiny one for Christmas It was amazing what I could pull out of it - box of tissues, my lunch, spare top... Only thing was I could NEVER find my phone

EllieKthePA · 10/04/2007 10:01

just you wait ladies, the huge hangbag is a throwback to my days of carrying nappies, bottles, dummies, snacks, you name it, and trying to still look fashionable by having a handbag instead of changing bag!

that and i'd always forget one or the other if i had changing bag seperate to handbag

Morning LuceWheel! Did I read you're moving? How's all the packing going?

EllieKthePA · 10/04/2007 10:04

and yes, Luce, i got my pushchair

collected it yesterday, immaculate condition, pushchair, coseytoes, autobase and carseat, less than £40! even with the petrol cost it was only £60!

don't know that i'll use the carseat, i have one, but it is useful to have there as a spare.

and i met the couple and their little girl so i know they'd have said if the car seat was damaged in anyway, she was absolutely lovely!

Katy44 · 10/04/2007 10:12

Luce - it's gone a bit quiet which suits us at the moment, ideally things will pick up when the LO's a few months old. At least we can safely say we're definitely not moving before, which is a relief.
eca - going now!! Thanks for reminding me

Pesha · 10/04/2007 10:13

So would mine ellie and then we'd have to have the JCB song on all day!

Cant remember much but was it birdiebump said could only go 24 hours after waters going? Im sure I read on a thread yesterday you can go 90 something hours, will go search.
