i know it doesn't quite rhyme but it does nearly, and it's completely inoffensive to everyone but Eddas

it depends on your mw Pesha

mine said that if all your waters go (the big gush rather than the trickle!) then they only give you 24 hours before they get you in, due to risk of infection.

but then everything seems to be different depending on where you live

Suspiscious mind eh?

Maveta, sorry you had a crap night - enjoy your beauty appointment.

Ellie, glad bump is ok again.

Big hugs to everyone else I have failed to mention.

No news here. Having thought things might happen early, I expect I will still be here mid-May!

Hey ho. It will happen when it is meant to happen.

Loads to do today whilst B at preschool. Need to get dh some bday presents - haven't a clue what to get him!

See you later. xx

Pesha · 10/04/2007 10:22

Yeah i think they all have different policies but if its something you're really adamant about and you can insist on what you want.

So how do i do a link to a thread and have it come up showing the exact post I want rather than just being at the top or bottom of the page?

EllieKthePA · 10/04/2007 10:24

don't think you can Pesha, or if you can, i don't know how!

OP posts:
Pesha · 10/04/2007 10:27

Katy44 · 10/04/2007 10:31

test

CaptainDippy · 10/04/2007 10:31

Ta Da!! your resident "expert" on "waters going" is here .....

CaptainDippy · 10/04/2007 10:31

Morning!

Katy44 · 10/04/2007 10:31

You can do it - the easiest way is to add the thread to your watch, click on the post you want it to pop up on, and then use that link - it should have a # and then a number after it.

Katy44 · 10/04/2007 10:32

Morning CD - I almost started a rumour you were having a baby!

EllieKthePA · 10/04/2007 10:32

alright then smartypants (who isn't supposed to be here anyway), how d'ya do it?

OP posts:
Katy44 · 10/04/2007 10:34

I'll have you know I've hung the washing out!
Just the kitchen and baby's room to go - don't want to do too much in a morning!
If you add the thread to your watch list, then click on the exact post you want (as long as it's not too far down) it'll open with that post at the top of the screen. The URL will end with a hash and then a number (which must be the post ID). If you use that URL, it should work.

Birdiebump · 10/04/2007 10:35

Back from MW, and as it goes she says they will give at least 48 hours. You go in everyday (they are just up the road), they check for infection and also monitor your temperature for signs of infection. All well here anyway although LO has "disengaged" again - surprise! Am getting periody-type cramps so MW seems to think I should go into labour today.

EllieKthePA · 10/04/2007 10:36

where's the [smug] emoticon

you deserved to use one then!

still, by the time i next want to do it i'll have forgotten how

OP posts:
Katy44 · 10/04/2007 10:36

Hmm - only works as long as you can actually see the post you want, which is impossible if you've posted after it. There must be another way to get the ID.
I will look into it as a matter of urgency! That should kill some hoovering time!

EllieKthePA · 10/04/2007 10:36

i take it that means you're not in labour then cd?

OP posts:
CaptainDippy · 10/04/2007 10:37

Right - each hospital has different protocol depending on where you are - so Birdie and hensden would have to check out their local hospitals to be exact ....

The most common length of time a hospital will leave you after waters going is 96hrs officially....

89% of women go into labour within 24 hrs of their waters going.
A further 10% go in after 48hrs
1.5% after 61 hrs
....and the other miniscule amount of people don't ........

I was one of that miniscule amount with DD2!! My waters went at 35+2 and she was born at 36 weeks ......

They left me 102hrs in the end, but no labour. Bottom. So they induced me with the drip and she was born in 1 hr 26 mins - start to finish -

So there you go ..... so we should have bubbas from Birdie and Hensden v.soon - hurrah!

Go ladies .....

(You have to go in for regular monitoring til labour begins btw...)

Katy44 · 10/04/2007 10:38

Is it common that babies disengage? It seems to be happening to everyone - I thought once they were in position they generally didn't go back up?

CaptainDippy · 10/04/2007 10:38

Nope - no labour here!

EllieKthePA · 10/04/2007 10:40

i think it might be a 2nd/3rd baby thing Katy?

OP posts:
Katy44 · 10/04/2007 10:41

I'm going to the MW this afternoon (don't let me forget if I'm still here at 2.30 ) if mine's fully engaged I'm going to hold his feet!
