Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
FurryFox · 12/04/2007 16:16

Hi Skidaddle One reason I thought I wasn't pg this month is because I had terrible PMT the week before AF was due. Usually get it but not too bad. Was really emotional too and crying at the most ridiculous things Have been ok the last few days though but I'm sure something will set me off again sooner or later.

I too wasn't as concerned about miscarrying first time round but for some reason this time I am. Think I know a lot more than I did first time round so I'm more aware fo it.

BeansterMum · 12/04/2007 16:27

Skidaddle, Furryfox, Why is it all so different second time around - I'm exaclty like you guys. I think last time it was all so new and exciting whereas this time in a way I'm wishing the PG bit away so I can hold my little Button.

Emotions have been a bit all over the place - but my DH will say that's normal for me Trying hard myself not to be stressed and so trying to think happy thoughts

skidaddle · 12/04/2007 16:52

Do you know what i think it is furry and beanster - I think it's all mn's fault! Like you Furry, i know a lot more this time round and most of it (well a lot of it) comes from mumsnet. I've read so many sad stories and I know how likely mc is that i suppose it's just more in the forefront of my mind. Does this sound right for you too?

And also same as you beanster, I think of pregnancy as just something to get through until I can hold my little baby (filling up just writing that, ridiculous woman that I am whereas last time it was all exciting to see my body changing and reading about how big the baby was etc.

And of course you focus on the birth so much first time round because you can't quite imagine what happens after that. So it all seems quite logical now that i think about it. We must just endeavour to keep each other sane throughout!

FurryFox · 12/04/2007 17:12

I know what you mean Skidaddle about mnet, I've learnt loads from here and seen so many sad stories that it has made me realise how common mc's are

I also agree with you Beanster about pg just being something to get through. I really enjoyed my last four months of my first pg and was looking forward to the birth but this time I already want it to be December.

I am going to try and enjoy this pg though and make the most of it

Do we ever have roll call type things on here so we know everyones due dates etc? You can tell I'm new to this

mad4girls · 12/04/2007 18:33

hi guys congrats on your bfp's i remember furry fox from ttc forum

with regards to due dates i think there is a list further down the thread will bring it up in a moment,

as for cravings im dying for a curry which i will be ordering as soon as dd1 is in bed, i have 2 by the way so if all goes well this will be no3 and 2 step sons my first with my dp,

as for morning sickness i feel like cheering as i was sick this morning, was beginning to think something may be wrong. as had very bad ms with dd's and was also hospitalised with dd2 and it never ended the sickness and heartburn that is.

after feeling sick for the last few days i felt miserable now ive been sick i feel great, im a bit like that though, id rather feel sick and be sick than just keep feeling sick.

I wasn't feeling sick today but did have a whole day in town with dd1 and then came home and slept for an hour whilst she played with her hamma beads bless her. I am just so thirsy all the time and am craving fruit (weird!) but I have put on weight and am sure I have a tiny bump (read fat from stealing dd1 easter eggs). Poor DD1 has a rough time of it - and I was too tired to play with her at the park. I just sat on the bench and watched and she climed and slid and swang saying "Mummy look at me, come and watch me".

GOD - I do not want to go back to work.

ohhhh I feel like I am tempting fate by adding to that list!

i too have been enjoying an afternoon nap almost every day for a week and a half - dreaing back to work on Monday!

tombliboo · 12/04/2007 20:51

Congrats to all those with BFP's! I am also having problems staying awake, luckily DH is working from home at the moment so I can have an afternoon nap! Apart from feeling knackered and having sore boobs, no other symptoms but was same with DD so not too worried about not having MS.

Agree that things don't feel the same second time around. Just want to rush thru the pg and get to the baby!

Beanster - we get the Nuchal Fold scan as part of the NHS here. It takes place 12-14 weeks and they measure the amount of fluid at the baby's neck. From that they work out a probability of Down's Syndrome. If it seems likely then further tests are offered like blood tests and then ammio. (You can tell I've been re-reading my Pregnancy and Birth book!)

Well i had to go for a nap today again, thought id make the most of dp being off work to look after ds.
Is anyone else constantly hungry yet???
I cant seem to fill myself up

thelady · 12/04/2007 21:52

Sorry for the long silence - constant nausea since last Thursday so I've been getting up to work, and then trying to rest as much as possible.

Today I'm feeling half-way human again I was starting to get a bit desperate about coping with another (potentially) 10 weeks of this....

I did a little constructive nagging this week, and the midwife is arranging a dating scan for me for next week. 5 glasses of water before hand!!!! Not quite my idea of fun with a 30min car journey between here and there....

So, by this time next week we should have a better idea of when tadpole will be making an appearance

Caz10 · 13/04/2007 09:10

Good morning, stupid question alert and I'm sure it won't be my last...seeing the midwife in a couple of weeks, 1st visit, and want to ask her whether the Nuchal Fold Scan is available on the NHS in our area. Can anyone tell me if it is pronounced nUchal like the u in nut or nOOchal?

Thanks!!

daisyboohoo · 13/04/2007 09:49

Morning All

Have been away for a few days.... Congratulations to all new BFPs

Have had awful ms last couple of days - lasting most of the day. Today I feel fine tho. Changed my routine and started the day with a couple of ginger nuts. I think it was coffee on an empty stomach making me feel not good. Just had a weak one and feel ok still. I'm very sleepy in the afternoons and have to close my eyes for a while. And everything smells so strong...
Starting work at 5 am tomorrow - should be fun!!

I've not seen anyone yet. I've called the local ante-natal unit and I'm waiting for an appointment to come thru. Was expecting to hear today but nothing. At what week do they usually like to see you? I wish they'd hurry up - would just like for someone to confirm I'm pregnant. Symptoms normal. Put my mind at rest a bit. Make it seem real. Tell me what to do next!

fifisworld · 13/04/2007 09:56

Morning Daisy

My mw is seeing me on the 25th so i'll be about 6/7 weeks. I saw her last time at about this stage as well and she just took blood/bp and filled in my notes.
I havent got any symptoms really,i wish i did though. I didnt get them with ds so maybe thats just the way i am.
I do feel tired and have sore boobs but no ms or anything.
I just wish i could go for a scan and see my little bean,im so scared incase anything goes wrong.

Hi everyone
Another addition to the group if no one minds. Found out we were expecting number 2 two days before our dds first birthday. Really excited, shame I can't say the same for my Mum infact her response was you don't want to tell anyone in case something happens almost as if she wants it too

Kitsilano · 13/04/2007 11:39

Caz10 - it's Nooochal like in Nuclear.

daisyboohoo · 13/04/2007 11:59

Congratulations Angelhunter

Thanks Fifi. Maybe I'm just being impatient. I have felt rough for last couple of days but okay today. Other than that just sore bbs and tired. Keep getting niggles, dull aches and I'm just worrying myself. I'd just like someone to tell me that I'm definately pregnant! Going to have to announce to work very soon and would like to have some form of proof!

Caz10 · 13/04/2007 12:05

Cheers Kit! I was going towards the other pronunciation so glad I checked!

I am happy today because...I feel so sick! How silly is that?! No ms but I ate my brekkie and felt terrible. Now still queasy and wobbly, have never been so happy to feel sick! Prob a bl##dy tummy bug...

Daisy I know what you mean re proof! I have got 2 pg tests I'm saving for sometime before 12 week scan as so paranoid!

daisyboohoo · 13/04/2007 12:17

Hey Caz thats how I felt yesterday and loved it in a weird way. Today I'm fine.
Have you had a date thru for appointment already? I can only be seen on a Thursday! God knows how many thursdays I'll have to wait! I am 5w+ 3 now (according to LMP) but more like 5w+6 by my dates. DP will def think I'm mad if I buy more pg tests!!

GemBean · 13/04/2007 12:24

Hi Angelhunter, congrats! I know how you feel, my dd is 13 months and when i told my mum she just said "you're mad, it will be awful, hard work etc etc". Theres a huge gap between my brother and i which I think is rubbish so am trying to ignore her, but it just puts a dampner on it all doesn't it?

fifisworld · 13/04/2007 13:57

Im so worried incase i go for my scan and they say theres nothing there, and even more so im terrified of a missed m/c.
I had no problems at all with ds but that doesnt stop me worrying this time, and ive got 7 more weeks of worry before i find out

skidaddle · 13/04/2007 14:15

Hi fifi,
I'm the same - have been reading about someone's missed mc on another thread - it's just so tragic - and it can't help but make you think.
But I know I'm being ridiculous because I never had any problems with dd, have never had a mc..
Why do we worry ourselves stupid instead of just enjoying it?

skidaddle · 13/04/2007 14:16

Oh and congratulations angelhunter (sorry to hear about your mum's reaction but who cares what she thinks - it's YOUR BABY )

cazzybabs · 13/04/2007 14:18

Nothing enjoyable about the 1st 12 weeks pregnancy. Dare I reming you:
(1) worrying and knicker checking every loo trip
(2) tiredness (how am I going to cope with out my afternoon sleep)
(3) sick feeling
(4) cravings that occur when it least convient (ie too tired to go to shops or shops closed etc)
(5) no one knows and thinking you are slacking at working when you suffering from 2 and 3.

However then it does get better and I love being pregnant...roll on June.
