Hi Ambi, I too am an addict, you are not alone

Hi beanstermum, no experience of nuchalfold scan but couldn't bear to myself - you are a spring chicken at 35 anyway!

Ambi · 12/04/2007 11:10

Thanx Skidaddle, nice to know I'm not a loony!!

Anyone else having trouble staying away from caffeine?

Kitsilano · 12/04/2007 11:16

Ambi - you dont need to stay away from caffeine! Up to 3 cups of coffee a day has been shown to have no effect. I have just had a nice latte from cafe nero.

mrsdarcy · 12/04/2007 11:22

Hello - can I join in? I had a bfp about 5 minutes ago!!

JARM · 12/04/2007 11:23

Congrats MrsDarcy!

Welcome to the mad house!

Huge congrats Mrs. Darcy

I don't stay away from caffeine either Ambi, find it hard to stay away from blue cheese though - and are prawns OK? I can never remember...

GemBean · 12/04/2007 11:47

Beanstermum - we had a nuchal fold scan last time round. It cost £200 I think at the Newcastle RVI. You have a small window in which you can have it, around 12 weeks so if you decide to have one, Im sure your midwife can advise on where near you and how. We just phoned up ourselves and made an appointment. I know its not for everyone, but we had one for various reasons and will probably have one again this time. The woman who did was lovely and explained exactly waht everything meant.

JARM - hows your ms? Ive lost weight as I feel so bad. Have you found anything that helps??

Mrs Darcy - hurrah!!

BeansterMum · 12/04/2007 11:58

Cheers GemBean and Skidaddle. Still not sure which way to go really with any test - just keep thinking about DD we already have and the effect etc etc - sounds crap I know. But, as you say - 35 isn't exaclty ancient (just feel it these days).

Re. coffee - I crave it but after a few sips dont' fancy it - rubbish really as my office is above a Starbucks!! Trying to think what I fancy for lunch now............I'm staying away from the Prawns at the moment - as bottom of the chain feeders not quite sure how much rubbish they have in them (mercury etc etc) but as with most things, I suspect the odd one makes bugger all difference! As for Blue Cheese - as I discovered at the END of my last PG, if it's cooked it's fine - bring on the dolchellate pizza or gorgonzola pasta for me then

Ambi · 12/04/2007 12:26

Good because I'm bloody exhausted, I usually drink loads of tea in a day - esp in a massive mug. But decaff is crap, I can't stop yawning, but think thats the sore norks keeping me awake(hmmm can't wait til fidgeting/kicking baby )

Also, my queasiness has subsided now and I'm just hungry all the time, I'm gonna be sooooooooo fat!! hugs for those who have morning sickness, I'm sure my time will come, only just 5 weeks today.

Oh and sorry to be ignorant to the newbies, howdy and welcome to the loonybin, and CONGRATS....

Esp Furryfox, remember you from TTC, yeay Xmas baby...

mrsdarcy · 12/04/2007 12:31

Thanks for the welcome

I had been avoiding doing a test as I was convinced I wasn't pg, just very pre-menstrual. I'm still all trembly! Quite queasy too, but not actually being sick.

My DS1 is a December baby too so it this pregnancy goes well my Decembers will be awfully hectic!

Ambi · 12/04/2007 12:37

I couldn't believe it either, I tested loads bfore I should, but really convinced that I couldn't be, Very busy Decembers, I guess I'm pleased that I'm not gonna be massive through hot summer months.

skidaddle · 12/04/2007 13:17

Beanstermum - ooh you made me so happy about blue cheese

MrsDarcy - have you worked out your due date yet? How old is your ds? Think the queasiness might be from the shock? I was like that for about a day after I got my BFP

mrsdarcy · 12/04/2007 13:31

DS1 is 7
DS2 is almost 6
DD is 21 months

Yes, I think the queasyness and shakes could be shock

skidaddle · 12/04/2007 13:41

Ooh no.4, how exciting. I think most of us are only on no.1 or 2 - you can be the wise voice of experience!

BeansterMum · 12/04/2007 13:42

MrsDarcy - I know exactly how you feel - all very dizzy and just rather detached from myself for the first week or so. Settling down now to total queeziness and total body knackeredness (in addition to the invention of new words!!)

Skiddadle - highly recommend Spinach, Dolchelatte and caramelised red onion pizza - yum

mrsdarcy · 12/04/2007 14:40

That's reassuring, Beanster. I have the shakes too, as though I have had far too much caffeine. Has anyone else been like that?

Hmm, Voice of Wisdom. Be Afraid!

fifisworld · 12/04/2007 15:28

Well done Mrsdarcy
Is anyone else struggling to stay awake for the full day??
I never normally nap even when ds has his but now i cant keep my eyes open

FurryFox · 12/04/2007 15:35

Thanks for the welcome girls It's great to be part of this thread. Nice to see some familiar faces too

Not sure of my due date yet, calculator thing has worked it out to be 17th December, have 37 day cycles so not sure if that is right or not Think I'm only about four and a bit weeks anyway.

Have been having a few cramps on and off since about last Sunday and this morning they felt a bit worse than they had before. I'm sure I had cramps with DD but for some reason this time I'm worrying about them more. Has anyone else been having mild cramps, like AF cramps? Am trying not to worry but it's hard.

FurryFox · 12/04/2007 15:37

fifi - I have been falling asleep at about 8.30pm for the last three nights and been having naps on and off all day, just can't keep my eyes open. Am lucky as my Mum's staying with us this week, not sure how I'll cope when she's back to work on Monday

fifisworld · 12/04/2007 15:41

Furry- i had cramps with ds, i had them before i tested but nothing since.I wish id just get loads of sickness or something coz i dont feel anything really,i'll be worrying until my scan now

fifisworld · 12/04/2007 15:42

Oh and your due the same day as me Furry

FurryFox · 12/04/2007 15:49

I'm waiting to be sick too which feels odd saying it With DD I started being sick at 6 weeks, within a week I was in hospital with hyperemisis (really bad ms that causes dehydration) hooked up to a drip. had a scan to see if it was twins, which it wasn't. Stayed in for 4 days then was allowed home. Still couldn't keep anything down, including water and was back in hospital 3 weeks later. This time I was kept in for a week. I had my first proper meal at five months pg - I hope the same doesn't happen again

Oooh I like having the same due date as you fifi although docs might say different and dd was 15 days late anyway so won't hold out much hope with being on time

mrsdarcy · 12/04/2007 15:51

Furry - I have af-type cramps, too. I had them in my other pregnancies - to the point where I would swear af was due.

FurryFox · 12/04/2007 16:01

Thanks mrsdarcy, am glad I'm not the only one. I'm sure I never worried as much with DD as I am now. Am noticing every little twinge that normally I probably would even notice

skidaddle · 12/04/2007 16:10

Furry, I have AF cramps too - also worry about them more than I did first time round. I never even considered the possibility of a mc with dd, don't know why I'm thinking about it so much this time. I don't really have any symptoms either, except for tiredness so i too am looking forward to a bit of ms just so i can feel properly pg.

Is anyone else an emotional wreck? I keep bursting into tears for no reason which I never do, blaming poor old dp for allsorts, and I really feel like it's out of my control - it's horrible. I've never really had PMT or anything so this is all very wierd for me
