Lets get started!

Ooh that sounds really bad.
My thing at the moment is crying - I've welled up a ton of times today all at animals and children. Then to top it all off I've just cried at the Simpsons!! Honestly...
I'm logging off now for the evening - try to tear myself away.
Have a good weekend everyone. Good luck with Monday Pecka - I'll be thinking of you

Hi, I've changed my name from Lucy1977 to Loucee.

Lizzer - I don't think you HAVE to wait to 16 wks before getting your hair coloured, when I was pg with DD I asked a couple of hairdressers if it was safe or not, one said yes and the other said it was possible for some of the chemicals to get in my blood stream, so I put it off until 16wks but then I looked so two tone I had to do something about it!

PeckaRolloverAgain · 27/04/2007 22:54

Hi everyone

I FEEL SICK yayayayay

Ive been a bit worried all day because havent felt sicky and now I do Im SO happy.

Im trying to keep positive but every time I go to the toilet Im expecting blood.

Luckily (touch wood) there has been nothing to see and spotting pretty much gone.

Just want monday to be here now, I SO hope things will be ok.

I got my roots and highlights done the day before I found out I was pg and a st tropez tan so at least I was a little bit pampered before therapists started kicking me out !!

oh and btw, client meeting went well, just had an email saying she wants to book me :D

Nbg · 28/04/2007 08:28

Yey Pecka! Although I jst cannot get excited about feeling sick lol.
Only one more day to wait till your scan. Great news about your client too. Is she due soon?

Lizzer, I'm getting my hair coloured next week. I have an appt on Thursday so if I dont feel sick I'll be having it done. I've always been told its fine to have it done.
I think the only thing you have to avoid is essential oils which is why I'm presuming poor dundee can't have her facial.

Skidaddle, I can relate to that love feeling lol. I had it terribly with dd when I was pg last time. I kept hugging her and I think really we spoilt her a bit too much

I'm still feeling sickey and its beggining to pee me off now. It would be nice to get through the day not feeling sick at all.
I'm also hoping for a homebirth. My MW said that I should be quite favourable because I've obviously given birth twice before but when I had ds, as I was pushing he went back up and turned into the transverse position. He'd done it a couple of times in my later pg too but literally for about a min and turned back again.
The MW said she was a bit concerned by it but if this baby is good lol, then we're all go.

PeckaRolloverAgain · 28/04/2007 08:33

NBG, my client is 38 weeks pregnant so Im going straight on call!

Just done (another!!) pregnancy test and its very dark positive so touch wood think things are still ok.

BeachBunni · 28/04/2007 08:44

Happy days pecka. Pg does strange things to us that we look forward to feeling sick
Maybe you could answer this for me. Are there no doulas in Northern Ireland? I had to goggle it as I've never heard of it before and when I searched in NI none came up.

PeckaRolloverAgain · 28/04/2007 08:47

BeachBunni - I have just had a quick look on Doula UK and there are none coming up from NI there. However, that just means that there arent any that are members of doula uk at the moment.

Ill have an ask around for you

BeachBunni · 28/04/2007 08:56

That's great. It's something I might be interested in. This is my first and I feel completely clueless. I'm the first out of my friends to get pg so they're no help and my mum lives in Spain. She's obviously going to try and get over for the big event but most of our family gets impatient inuterio and pops out 3-4 wks early.

Thank you

PeckaRolloverAgain · 28/04/2007 09:02

You sound like perfect candidate for doula They (we) really can make a huge difference

Ill post a Q on the doula uk forum to see if anyone knows of any.

becklespeckle · 28/04/2007 09:52

Morning all! How are we all today??? Still not really got any nausea here (apart from a bout of it the other night) although have found myself very tearfull over the last few days, they seem to fall very easily IYKWIM. No word yet about scan, will have to chase them up on Monday...
Glad you feeling sick Pecka! Roll on Monday for your scan! Please try not to worry too much, I had bleeding with both my DSs at around 8 weeks, just a little bit. And with DS1 I had heavy red bleeding at 14, 20 and 24 weeks too. They were both big healthy babies.
I thought the reason you couldn't have your hair coloured while pg was because the colour might not react the way you expect because of the hormones?
Also I can definitely smell things more Lizzer, especially myself in the mornings! Hot and cold all night doesn't make me smell great but DH has not noticed anything (thankfully ).
We haven't told my DSs anything this time, DH told them last time (he is terrible at secrets) and they were sooo disappointed when it went wrong, I told them that I had made a mistake with my test and the doctors told me there was no baby. It seemed easier on them than explaining something so small had died. This time I have sworn DH to secrecy and made sure that anyone he tells knows not to mention it around our DSs.
Am off out tonight to celebrate birthday (earlier in the week) with a bunch of friends, not sure how to cover not drinking yet though. Might pretend lemonade has vodka in it and only let DH and friends who are 'in' on the pg buy me them?

cazzybabs · 28/04/2007 10:00

Oh god all your talk of scan dates - I haven't even told made a booking in appointment at my doctos yet - am waiting till I get to 11 weeks. Last night was the 1st time I had made it past 8 o clock and not had evening sickness - HORRAH!

Pecka glad things seem to have stopped!

thelady · 28/04/2007 11:29

cazzybabs: I wouldn't wait too long before making that appointment - our surgery only has the midwife one afternoon a week, so on average you'll wait about 3 weeks for a booking-in appointment!

Oh, and could someone that knows how please think about starting a new thread for us - this one is taking over 5 mins to load on my PC .

Many thanks.

Ambi · 28/04/2007 12:38

Hello girls, finding it almost impossible to eat anything other than junk. Got a really fine line between feeling queasy/hungry to feeling full and ill, it's starting to my nugget in!! I really cannot wait until the "oooh I'm glowing stage" hopefully this will be a distant memory. Finally off Tea & Coffee too, trying to find something else but everything tastes weird!! water it is then. I know I should be out enjoying the nice weather but I'm so lethargic I can only mooch around at the pc.

NEways, have a great weekend all.xx

Caz10 · 29/04/2007 12:01

Hi! I've started a new thread!

becklespeckle · 29/04/2007 12:09

Hi all, I took the liberty of linking you all to Caz's new December thread

Bimblin · 30/11/2007 23:12

Bimblin ds (2.8) expecting boy 4/12 e.c

rew108 · 03/04/2011 14:22

Hi!

Can I join. I am 5 weeks and due on the 9th December I think!

Riss it is so hard becasue people jump to conclusions of you don;t want to drink. I said to people I had to be off alcohol for a week as I needed to be clean for 'test's

happytree · 03/04/2011 16:23

hi rew108, there's a upto date December thread on here. This one is a bit out of date.
Smile
Sorry would link if I knew how!
