It's crazy the way we worry. Was only ttc for three months but each month would convince myself there was something wrong with me and wouldn't get pg. Then when I do get pg I'm looking for more things to worry about. We're nuts

MS started at 5+6 last time - I remember it all too well

Lizzer · 17/04/2007 17:41

Hi all, lovely to see some new additions

Quick question, has anyone told anyone yet? (apart from dp's and dh's of course?) I've told my mum and dad, his mum, his step mum and 5 closest friends but not dd (she will tell her school friends then the whole town will know - seriously!) But dd is the one I want to tell most she has waited 7 yrs for a sibling and talks about it all the time to the point I promised her 2 rabbits to keep her off our backs! I would hate for something to go wrong then have to explain to everyone, especially dd... What are your plans?

JARM · 17/04/2007 17:45

Afternoon all!!

Sorry I havent been about much, had the inlaws down all weekend and my word, it was draining!

Have finally booked my MW appointment for 26th April at 9.30am..... not looking forward to it, but at least it will be over and done with!

Hope everyone is doing ok, and we may have a new recruit - NBG had a scan today and they have dated her as 7+3 same as me!

Hi Lizzer - We have told both sets of parents, Nan, 2 sets of Aunts & Uncles, brother & SIL, 3 of our closest friends and DH told someone he works with today. We have told DD but she is only 20 months so we don't have the worry of her telling anyone

I can understand why you would want her to know so much, especially as she will obviously be so excited. Hopefully things will go fine with your pg but it would be awful for you to tell her then if something did happen have to tell her that, at the same time if something did happen would she pick up on it? I'm sure everything will be fine but if my dd was older and understood I would want to wait till 12 weeks and then tell her. Maybe give her a scan picture in a card or something and put in it - you're going to be my big sister or something along those lines. Also less time for her to wait till baby arrives too

I might be alone with this view and it might be a bad idea I'm useless at advice

bambino1 · 17/04/2007 19:45

I told dh straight away and sil as i tell her everything! Although she screamed when I did tell her and MIL and GMIL were sitting with her so they found out. I had to then ring DH to let FIL and SMIL know as it would prob cause an arguement if they didn't know same time. I told my parents a few days later.

Haven't told dd as of yet but said if she is a good girl throughout the year father christmas may bring her a new baby. hope i'm not tempting fate and its not actually working. She is still being a complete horror!

Hi everyone

Beanstermum - I work (part-time) in Glasgow too, although I can't access mumsnet from there as screen is too overlooked! We had our scan done at Healthcare Now and would recommend them. Or you can get one done Babybond Livingston or babyscanning Glasgow

Bambino - fingers crossed you don't have slapped cheek, try not to worry as the stress wont be good for you either.

We've told DD (14mths!!) and my group of girlsfriends I've met since having DD, we meet up every wk and have become quite close and I'd need them all if anything happened. Not going to tell any family just yet.

Lucy

insywinsyspider · 17/04/2007 20:42

evening

went to doc today and he said its a BFP - although faint... should i be worried that its only faint? am only 5 weeks tho, just don't really feel pg although started leaking milk again today, so worried there'll be nothing at 12 week scan...

resisting telling too many people, told parents and brothers, best mate (because its her hen do in 5 weeks) and one of the mums i know - desperate to tell everyone

fifisworld · 17/04/2007 20:46

insywinsyspider · 17/04/2007 20:53

bambino1 · 17/04/2007 20:53

I think we are all in same boat. little while yet to our scans aswell. will be very anxious until is see that fugure on the screen!

bambino1 · 17/04/2007 20:54

i meant figure!

thelady · 17/04/2007 21:03

Hello - had my dating scan yesterday.

Tiny little tadpole with heartbeat at 7w1d so due on or about 2nd Dec. We've a holiday booked for early Nov, and are swithering about whether we'll be able to go.... Can't take it earlier as we run a hotel and Nov. is the first it starts getting quieter. Later, with infant-in-tow just doesn't quite cut it!

I've told my sister, on the basis that I need someone to talk to if if all goes pear-shaped, but DH feels very strongly that we should wait until on/around the 12 week mark to tell anyone else - and that includes parents. This will be my parents' first grandchild, so I'm itching to tell them.

Still absolutely shattered, nightmares to end all nightmares, and very very limited list of things I can cope with the thought of eating. Fortunately feeling better than last week, though the midwife cheerfully told me that it's bound to get worse.

Gee thanks!

cazzybabs · 17/04/2007 21:09

YEY - big congrats THELADY. There are loads of us due around the start of the month (and we will be able to drink around Christmas - he he he!!!). Where is your holiday - remember the no flying rule after a certian number of weeks (no idea when it is as we are too poor (mean) to afford forign holidays! Actually I am joking - we are off to Paris at the end of the summer holidays and I can't wait, to stay with dd1's godfather.

i am so tired. Came home and slept for 2 hours. This is not good as I have so much to do with the inspection next week. And am so cross with dh as he ate all the greek salad in the house. Am craving salty foods (Does this mean its a boy) - the only things I want to eat are marmite, ready salted crisps (pref Prinagles) and feta cheese. I am also clearly dehdrated as I am loving fruit and salad. Summer skirts still very tight though .

fifisworld · 17/04/2007 21:14

Thelady - Congrats on your scan
Sorry to ask but how did you get a early scan???
Dont mean to upset you if its because of previous problems just curious as im dying for mine

Bimblin · 17/04/2007 21:24

Don't know if its pg symptoms but found myself flicking some of my spaghetti and meatballs at my dp when he made a particularly irritating comment about feminism tonight. I barely even realised I'd done it but he was very shocked....

thelady · 17/04/2007 21:26

The holiday is at a wonderful self-catering place in the Peak District (upper gate farm) in a cottage with private hot-tub in the garden (boo hoo!) and use of half-size swimming pool. Then off to stay with friends in the New Forest for a weekend. That was meant to be drunkenness and debauchery (both doctors!) but now will be rather more sedate.

I got the early scan by asking, basically

My cycles are very irregular, I've been seeing a nasty gynae consultant for a year, and my last period was very short and very light. I could have been anything from 7 to 11 weeks, so it might not have been an early scan at all....

bambino1 · 17/04/2007 21:49

A Girl i work with who is also pg (she has been told she isn't allowed near nursery too! staff crisis!) was unsure of her dates so got an early scan by simply asking. turned out she was just seven weeks.

mrsdarcy · 17/04/2007 22:04

Well done on your scan Thelady!

After feeling really unequivocally happy the last few days, I''ve suddenly decided that I don't feel pregnant any more. Hope I feel more positive tomorrow.

Last time I had fortnightly scans from 6 weeks, so the fear of a missed miscarriage (which I'm sure we all share) was lessened. I don't really want so much medicalisation this time round but on nervous days it was sometimes a comfort.

Lucy1977 · 17/04/2007 22:10

congratulations Lady! Must've been lovely seen the wee one on the screen and great that you have a fairly accurate due date.

I haven't got a date through for a scan yet but like Lady because I have long cycles and my period at beginning of March was very short they offered me a dating scan. I didn't say no!

bambino1 · 17/04/2007 22:14

Thank you for all your support today. I'm off to attempt to get some sleep now! Prob just have a range of weird and wonderful dreams as usual. Prob about the needle for blood test tomo. Hate them so much. I'll let you know how it goes.
Night x

Lucy1977 · 17/04/2007 22:20

Oh can anyone direct me to find the profiles ? I have no idea where they are?

Thanks
Lucy

MrsDarcy - I don't seem to have any symptoms either. I have 18 cheap ebay tests left and have a feeling they are going to be used up very soon! The only thing I have noticed is that my sense of smell has taken on an extra gear, I can sniff out things miles away at the moment!

bambino1 · 17/04/2007 22:21

Lucy
click on our names. I am off to bed now!

Lucy1977 · 17/04/2007 22:30

Cheers Bambino - your DD is really sweet!

angelhunter · 18/04/2007 01:32

Dh and I have told everyone we are just too excited to keep it a secret and the way I look at it is that if it does all go wrong I'll have heaps of support.
I've already started to grow out of things, I'm sure this didn't happen so soon last time. Oh well a good excuse to go shopping soon

fifisworld · 18/04/2007 07:43
