insywinsyspider · 16/04/2007 21:38

hello all

borntobeaprincess - its fine to carry on bfeeding for as long as you want to (they used to tell you to stop as new baby needs nutrients - my mum was told that - but now they say carry on if you're happy, current baby will prob 'go off' your milk a some point as pg hormones change it ready for new baby) hth

mad4girls · 16/04/2007 21:45

is anyone around fancy a chat?

feeling bit lonely

insywinsyspider · 16/04/2007 22:03

sorry you're feeling lonely - i'm just off to bed as can't cope with late nights any more so not much help!

how come you're feeling lonely? (will be around for few more mins yet - nappies only just finished so got to hang them out now)

insywinsyspider · 16/04/2007 22:17

sorry mad4girls, can't keep my eyes open hope you're doing ok x

Lucy1977 · 16/04/2007 22:46

Hi Mad4girls, are you still around? I'll be here for a short while if you're still feeling lonely?

Hi Borntobeaprincess I'm bfeeding DD, I posted in the feeding forum whether its safe to carry on and all the replies said yes it's fine to carry on for as long as we like and tandem feed if you want. I'm feeling quite drained at the moment but don't want to wean DD until she is ready but apparently the milk will change taste (and eventually become colustrum) which is when a lot of babies self wean.

Lucy

mad4girls · 16/04/2007 22:59

bambino1 · 17/04/2007 08:40

Morning everyone! Had another rubbish night sleep. I've read that you should try not to sleep on your back but thats the only way i feel comfortable.

BeansterMum · 17/04/2007 10:05

Morning Peoples.

Finally had a whole night's sleep withouit waking up

Bambino1 - think the sleep on the back bit is further down the line when the size and weight of the bump etc will press onto your lungs and all that if on your back - think it also restricts blood flow to bump too - don't think it's a problem early doors thou.

Lucy1977 - live just outside Stirling so fall into Forth Valley NHS catchment - belive Lothian only do 1 scan too. Where did you have your private scan before? We're wanting to have a Nuchal Fold one and FV NHS don't do that one! Me and DH work in Glasgow so maybe easier for somewhere there if you know of any?

As for concentration - wibble!! Having to constantly send apologetic e-mails to people when I have sent stupid things (wrong person, forgotton to add an attachment etc etc!!) Ahh

fleacircus · 17/04/2007 10:22

Morning all... just adding myself to the list, as I've finally started believing I am pregnant! This is my first pregnancy and is therefore all I can think about... bit of a worry as the next few months at work promise to be a nightmare so it would help if I could summon up some concentration or even a little bit of interest in it. Finding this impossible though at the moment! Glad you slept ok BeansterMum. I've started waking up stupidly early but am attempting to make up for it with a nap when I get in from work, just until DP gets home. No MS yet, and eating all the time in a desperate obsessive attempt to get all the right nutrients!

Afternoon all!
Glad you are Ok to carry on bfeeding lucy and borntobe.. and good to know for next time (says she already thinking about no.3 )

Has anyone with a toddler got the book, There is a house inside my mummy? - it is so sweet - I really recommend it - had me crying this morning but something has me crying most mornings at the moment

Sorry you're not feeling the best mad4girls - it must be so difficult for you having already had a mc. We just need to get you through the first 12 weeks and then hopefully everything will seem brighter.

Glad you had a good night's sleep beanster and sorry you didn;t bambino (me neither)

One day closer to 12 weeks

mrsdarcy · 17/04/2007 14:14

OOh, Skidaddle, what a coincidence...I saw that book in the library this morning and thought it looked lovely. If things work out ok with this pregnancy it would be a nice book for DD (21 months). For the boys (7 and almost 6) I was thinking of Mummy Laid an Egg which is a bit more technical (!) but very sweetly done.

I went swimming this morning. DD and I go to Waterbabies , and have been since she was about 4 months old. I highly recommend it - it's by far the best activity I have done with any of the children.

How are you feeling today, mad4girls? Hope you're feeling a bit better. These hormones can do horrible things can't they?

bambino1 · 17/04/2007 15:00

well I have just about had the most stressful day yet in this pregnancy. For those of you who haven't read my profile i'm a nursery manager . I don't work mon or tues and this morning I got a phone call: One of the children who I am close contact with has slapped cheak infection. Myself and my deputy are both pregnant and are now not allowed to return to the nursery until the infection is gone! This also means dd can't go incase she gets it! Nightmare.

kandi · 17/04/2007 15:10

Hi everyone, hope you're all well. Am feeling pretty nauseous (sp?) now and soo tired. It's starting to feel real now! Have you ladies had your pregnancies confirmed by your GP yet? I went when I got my bfp (when I was almost 5 weeks), and she said it was too early to book me in and to come back in 2/3 weeks so will be 8 weeks on Friday, so will probably go back next week. I'm going away in May when I will fall 12 weeks and would love a scan before that for peace of mind, but knowing our area it will be a week or two afterwards.

skidaddle · 17/04/2007 15:11

bambino - oh dear - don't really know what slapped cheek infection is - I assume it's dangerous for pg women to get? At least you won't have got it as you haven't been working the last four days - and a chance to put your feet up and have a rest? (although not if you're looking after dd full-time I suppose. BTW just looked at your profile - your dd is goreous!!

skidaddle · 17/04/2007 15:13

mrs darcy - was thinking of taking dd to waterbabies but it is so expensive! But maybe I will if it's really worth it - she goes swimming every week with dp anyway but it might be fun to do a class as well..

kandi - feel a bit jealous that you're nauseous - I'm still waiting for ms..

bambino1 · 17/04/2007 15:25

It is contagious for up to two weeks before so dd may have it. Got to have a blood test tomo morning to see if I have it or if i am immune to it. Really worrying about it. Can't even take dd to her dance class as its at the nursery. Not sure how to break that one to her yet.

kandi · 17/04/2007 15:27

Oh don't skidaddle. I'm not feeling as bad as I did with DD, which I should be grateful for, but being neurotic pregnant, obviously I worry about it! I think lifestyle plays a part. I can lie in bed longer in the morning while DH looks after DD, wheras with DD I had to get up early to go to work, and at work you can't graze all day as I'm doing at home so would feel really rough in the evening. So I'm keeping the ms under control. And as we know what it feels like from before, it just doesn't have the same blow.

skidaddle · 17/04/2007 15:30

Bambino - good luck with the blood test - really hope you haven't got it - 2 weeks is such a long time to be contagious - do you and dd feel OK?

I know kandi, I shouldn't be jealous! Glad you're managing to keep it under control a bit more this time though. And lucky you getting a lie in the mornings, oh for a lie in...

kandi · 17/04/2007 15:32

When I say lie in skidaddle, I'm talking about 20 mintues, 1/2 hour tops!

bambino1 · 17/04/2007 15:36

Yeah we are ok, I rung nhs direct who said that we may not even get sypmtoms just have it unnoticed which is worrying me even more! It can cause miscarrige so will be glad when I know.

FurryFox · 17/04/2007 15:44

Hi all

Bambino - Sorry about the slapped cheek at your nursery, hope you and dd are ok and your dd is gorgeous

kandi - Sorry you have the ms already. I had it really bad with dd so although I want it just to make me feel pg I am also worried it might be as bad as last time and it was awful.

skidaddle - Will look out for that book

mad4girls - Hope you are feeling brighter today. I blame the hormones

Hope everyone else is well

Not sure if this is just mke or not but is anyone else feeling really hot all the time? I know the weather has been warmer anyway but I'm just so hot all the time and I'm usually a chilly little fox Heating on in September kinda girl Think I may have been like this with dd as well

skidaddle · 17/04/2007 15:45

Oh gosh, you poor thing, best of luck and let us know how you get on. I'm sure it will be fine but you can't help but worry, can you? Good luck xx

skidaddle · 17/04/2007 15:50

Afternoon furry
No, I'm not hot but I do remember being warmer than usual (also normally freezing!) with dd. Poor old dp is counting the days till I warm up so he doesn't have to put up with my icy feet between his legs every night (in a non-rude way) - but I keep telling him that it his duty as a man and my lifelong mate to keep my poor little feet warm for if he didn't, then what would become of me??

FurryFox · 17/04/2007 16:14

I think it might have something to do with the increased blood flow but then I again I may have just made that up

Did you have ms with your dd skidaddle?

skidaddle · 17/04/2007 16:27

Yes I did furry but not very badly. I feel very slightly queasy with this one but nothing compared to last time. I know I should be grateful but you've got to have something to worry about

Did you have it this early last time? Hopefully it won't be as awful this time round for you.
