We're pretty early but thought I'd start a thread to see if anyone else is here already.

I'm 4+1, apparently due around 2 May. Would be great to have some company :). Already obsessing over every little thing. The next 8 weeks are going to drag!

Hi everyone! I got my BFP a week ago (just before going out for my birthday!) and should be due around 1st may, this is my first too so it's a bit scary atm! My sister is also pregnant too but due around 16th march :)
I don't know how everyone deals with the constant cramping, I just feel like I'm going to come on! Then it's waking up early too (which I never do) and making it through my nursing shifts Confused

Hairgician · 01/09/2017 10:07

4+4 today. Due date 7th may going by lmp. Sickness kicking in today. Also bit of the shits. Though my ds was up all wed night vomiting so could be that aswell.
On sofa with blanket and tea and ginger biccies. I look like shit.

Thunderwing · 01/09/2017 11:27

Congratulations SexLube, and welcome BFP newbies Brian and kayleigh!

Hairgician - it's wonderful isn't it! Smile I hope you start to feel better soon.

I think I may have to confide in my boss sooner rather than later, my sickness comes on the in the afternoons and the smell of people eating their lunches is starting to make me heave! Luckily my boss is fantastic and I know she'll be very discreet until I am ready to share more widely!

MammaBear18 · 01/09/2017 12:16

Welcome new bumps-to-be?

@sexlube how great about your sister! I'd love to have a real life pregnancy buddy.

MammaBear18 · 01/09/2017 12:17

Sorry there was meant to be an exclamation mark, not a question mark! Been travelling since 4am 🤢

Fillybee · 01/09/2017 12:24

@sexlube that'll be so great for the both of you to be pregnant together then be on mat leave together!! What number baby is it for you both?

Congrats everyone!

Fillybee · 01/09/2017 12:32

Ps I can't remember who it was who asked if anyone wonders about twins but yes I do! Before I had DS I always liked the idea of twins but now I'm like how the hell do people manage that?! I'd rather just one I think. I guess it's statistically likely that at least one person in this group will be pregnant with twins though! 😬😬😬

AlexsMum89 · 01/09/2017 12:33

Today I'm flitting between thinking I might take another test, just to check the baby is still there (I don't know where I think it might have gone), and being terrified that I've somehow conceived twins or triplets!

tiramisualwaystiramisu · 01/09/2017 12:45

Twins terrify me fillybee - my friends had twins after their first. I think it's exhausting and they had lots of help in the early days.

alexsmum I keep wanting to do another test as well, but a bit scared it will be negative.

mammabear I'd love a real-life pregnancy buddy. I had one in my first pregnancy - we even had the same due date! It was really nice

MrsOB27 · 01/09/2017 12:45

My OH keeps mentioning twins! There isn't even any in our family... I'm definitely hoping there is just one baba in there! Just been to our work canteen and struggled with what to Have! Has anyone else read that we can't have mayo? Not sure I can go another 8 months without it!

Thunderwing · 01/09/2017 12:47

I had mayo last night and didn't even think twice about it... I don't remember giving it up for my first pregnancy either but advice may have changed!

Hairgician · 01/09/2017 13:10

Yes my dp has mentioned twins also, thinks it would be great cos we wouldn't need to do this againHmmConfusedAngry silly nit hasn't a clue lol.
His reply to me saying how much work they are was 'sure life is hard work' lol.

MammaBear18 · 01/09/2017 13:10

When we told my parents this week my mum said that there were a lot of twins on her side of the family! She drew me a vague family tree and there were at least 4 sets! However neither me or my sister are one so not sure how likely I am to get twins 😊

Alexsmum I just did a test at 5 weeks... I have been away and was only able to do tests between 9dpo and 11dpo and I was freaking out that something has gone wrong since. It was great reassurance as the line came up so quickly (even before the control line) and so strong! But I'm pretty sure I didn't breath while POAS x

Hairgician · 01/09/2017 13:13

Thunderwing- I had hg first time round, and I've anti sickness meds in cupboard that I'm not afraid to useGrin

tiramisualwaystiramisu · 01/09/2017 13:13

MrsOB27 I think the thing about mayo is if you make homemade because that's raw eggs. Shop bought stuff is fine.

Doublechocolatetiffin · 01/09/2017 13:53

Hello everyone, may I join you all? I got my bfp on weds after a rather bumpy start to my ttc #2 journey. I had a missed miscarriage in March at 12 weeks and had to have an ERPC. This was cycle 5 following that, given that I'd conceived both previous pregnancies first time I was getting very concerned that something was wrong. I'm not sure what was different this time (maybe luck or the cocktail of vitamins/herbs I took!) but I'm absolutely thrilled to be pregnant again.

I've got an EDD of 12 May which makes me a massive 3+6 weeks barely pregnant at all! Time is going to go so slowly through this first trimester. I'm already starting to think about booking in early scans - I was thinking 7 weeks for the first? There is no way I will wait till 12 weeks this time.

Currently testing every day, just to see the line get darker Shock I was so good in the first two pregnancies, but I am going to be a serious worrier until we get past the first trimester.

Fingers crossed for easy pregnancies for all of us.

Fillybee · 01/09/2017 14:13

Hi @double and congrats! Don't worry I think there's a few of us in here feeling anxious after previous miscarriages! Messes with your mind a bit doesn't it?! I've booked a private early scan for next weekend when I will be 6.5 weeks. Our second miscarriage was an anembryonic pregnancy so that's why I'm keen to have one so early, just to make sure there is definitely something in there!! My GP has just rung and they've booked an 'early reassurance' scan at the hospital for when I'll be 8.5 weeks, they do them for you if you've had previous miscarriages so might be worth you investigating that?

I think I might then go for another private scan at 10 weeks just to bridge the gap to 12 weeks! 😬😬

Doublechocolatetiffin · 01/09/2017 14:32

Fillybee thank you Smile it definitely does mess with your head. I'm sorry about your losses, it's such a hard thing to go through isn't it. The only good thing about it taking a while to get pg is that the fear of being pg again was replaced with desperation! I'm not anywhere near as worried as I would have been if I'd fallen straight away.

I'll definitely contact my GP and see about booking an early scan. The EPU said they would, but like you I think I want a couple of private scans in there to check all is well. I'm going on holiday soon so I'll hopefully try and book something for when I get back.

RedPanda25 · 01/09/2017 15:53

Sorry everyone - busy day!

I've tried to book an early scan today at 7.5 weeks which would be after the miscarriage we had at 7 weeks. I'm waiting to hear back as to whether they have availability as we live in North Wales and I think it's a small private scanning place. My friend said to try and ask the GP if they'll give me a reassurance scan on the NHS but I'm not sure they will.

I think mayo is fine as long as it's not homemade?

Gosh can you imagine twins! It would be so much work. I'm just hoping there's one healthy baby in there.

@sexlube it's such a worrying time but try not to stress too much... Symptoms are pretty intermittent. I did read something about how your boobs are never as sore as they were during your first pregnancy as some of the changes that took place during that time remain so don't need to be done again. I'm hoping that's why mine are less sore than with DS x

AlexsMum89 · 01/09/2017 17:53

@fillybee i really hope that's true! Mine were so bad with DS, I wouldn't be sorry if I missed that bit out this time!
They're a little sore at the moment but nothing too bad x
