We're pretty early but thought I'd start a thread to see if anyone else is here already.

I'm 4+1, apparently due around 2 May. Would be great to have some company :). Already obsessing over every little thing. The next 8 weeks are going to drag!

@sexlube try not to worry (easier said that done ha!)... I drive myself crazy symptom spotting too. I had intense heartburn for a few days that has gone away now and I was worrying about it but now my symptoms seem to have switched to boob pain... I definitely think that symptoms come and go x

I looked at early scans too but the cheapest one I found was £89! DH is against having one as he thinks it will just make me worry more if they can't detect anything yet as it might be too early. I'm on the fence about it.

Porgey1 · 01/09/2017 19:55

Evening all - please can I join? Had my BFP last Sunday and am 5 weeks today. Due 4th May and I have DS1 who is 3.5.

Have been tentatively stalking for a few days - very nervous as had a natural miscarriage at 4+6 in March.

No major symptoms as yet - bit tired, bit crampy at times, heavy boobs but not much really. Didn't have many symptoms with DS1 so hopefully taking it as a good sign!

Considering an early scan... where do you go to get one?? Haven't had chance to read the whole thread yet, 228 posts is a pretty active one! Hopefully looking forward to 'getting to know' you lovely ladies over the next 8 months!

JuniUmiZoomi · 01/09/2017 19:57

Hello, hi new people, congratulations!
I've had a bit of bleeding today, so nerve wracking and all you can do is wait...I am trying not to be too anxious but I keep having horrible dreams which wake me up and worry me then I can't sleep again. I hope this doesn't last long!
Anyone got nice plans for the weekend? We're going to a local farm park place so some fresh air will do me good I think.

Porgey1 · 01/09/2017 20:03

@JuniUmiZoomi - forgot to mention the vivid dreams and random insomnia! Hate being awake at 3:30am for no apparent reason, usually I sleep so well so it is annoying. Fingers crossed your bleeding stops soon and it's just a normal symptom.

MammaBear18 · 01/09/2017 20:19

@Porgey1 welcome and congrats! I'm due 4th May as well 🤗

Early scans are usually private (I think they can be offered by NHS if you have a history of miscarriage but I'm not sure what are the exact conditions so maybe someone will know more)

@JuniUmiZoomi fingers crossed the bleeding stops! Have you called your GP about it?

Porgey1 · 01/09/2017 20:39

@MammaBear18 - thank you! Due date buddy, excellent!

Thanks for the note on early scans, I had assumed they were private unless you are offered a reassurance scan on the NHS but a quick google brought up 15 providers in my area, no idea how to tell which ones might be good (and not cowboys!). My original NCT group might be able to help for a personal recommendation but I'd rather
not go public with our news just yet!

JuniUmiZoomi · 01/09/2017 20:57

Thanks porgey and mamma. No, I've not booked in with the midwife yet. Will do that on Monday. I should be getting an early scan due to my history so will just try to hang on and see what happens. It's stopped now and wasn't too major, just a bit of a shock.

The dreams/insomnia is half putting me off going to bed which is what it was like near the end of my pregnancy with my DD! Bit too early for that nonsense. I used to get up & eat cheerios!

katiegd · 02/09/2017 08:06

Hi all and welcome newbies!

Sexlube - great news about your sister! Sorry to hear you're getting paranoid. It's such a worrying time. I had a total panic on Thursday morning when I thought my boobs had stopped hurting but it's back now. I think the symptoms do come and go. How are you feeling today?

Juni - sorry to hear you've also had some bleeding. It's so nerve-wracking and all you can do is wait. I hope you can be seen quickly so they can confirm all is ok.

I am definitely less worried as no more bleeding and painful boobs and nausea are here, reassuring me :). I'll still be terrified on Monday morning but at least I can get on with stuff I need to do this weekend.

Re twins - I am one (of the fraternal, runs-in-the-family variety). Eek!

Hi everyone, hope it's OK to join.

Got my BFP yesterday, will be our first so no idea what to expect! Our due date is 11 May

Kublakhan · 02/09/2017 08:18

Hope everyone has a nice weekend.

Is anyone else just in a massive rage all the time? I'm so damn grumpy when I should be happy. Yesterday at work I thought I was being perfectly normal and my colleague said 'you seem really angry today' Blush I keep losing my shit with the toddler as well which is so unfair.

Catndogmummy · 02/09/2017 08:49

@kublakhan I'm totally with you on the rage thing! My poor DH is really feeling my wrath at the moment and he's done nothing wrong!

I don't know if this is normal when it's your first but over the last few days I've started having thoughts about whether this is actually what I want to do (even though we were trying)! My DH thinks I'm crazy but I'm genuinely really feeling really scared by the whole pregnancy/baby thing and how it's going to change my life! 😕

Kublakhan · 02/09/2017 08:55

Catndog totally normal and wait until they are born and you think 'oh fuck. Who thought this was a good idea? What's happened to my life?' a few hundred times in the first few years Grin and this was despite IVF after 5 years TTC! It's a huge change so not surprising you have a variety of thoughts about it.

Hairgician · 02/09/2017 09:14

So looks like it was vomiting bug yesterday! Feel much better today thank God! Was thinking it was too soon for sickness to be starting as was further on first time when it started.

RedPanda25 · 02/09/2017 09:22

@Catndogmummy I have the same thoughts too and it's my second I can't wait to see them grow up together but I'm expecting hard work. It'll all be worth it though!

@Hairgician you poor thing! Hope you're feeling better today? I'm luckily only sick if I eat too much at the moment so can kind of keep it under control.

Anyone else already getting really bloated? I'm also wondering when I'll get an actual bump with it being my second, exciting!

Hairgician · 02/09/2017 09:33

@RedPanda25 much better today. There is some inner heaving going on lol so that's probably pregnancy sickness starting. I did take an anti sickness tablet yest evening as it was getting really bad.
Pretty symptom free just now which is making feel a bit paranoid.

tiramisualwaystiramisu · 02/09/2017 09:46

Morning everyone!

Catndog that sounds completely normal. I had the same panic when expecting DS. Thing is, I now can't quite remember / imagine what my life was like before now. I am currently wondering how I will manage with two!

I'm doing ok with symptoms - bit tired, boobs are a bit sore and I seem to feel really sick after lunch! That, and apart from waking up early every morning, I'm doing ok. Redpanda I have some trousers I couldn't do up this morning but I think that's putting on weight recently rather than baby! I got very skinny after DS was born and still below my first pre-pregnancy weight. I'm currently a healthy weight for my height and hoping to stay healthy for the next 8 months

Brianpercival · 02/09/2017 09:54

@Catndog feeling exactly the same, relieved to hear it's normal.

Also @Kublakhan huge yes to the rage. DH is being so nice and I still want to rip his throat out. Also having to bite my tongue hard at work. 12 hours is a long time to control the rage ha

Hairgician · 02/09/2017 10:00

Ok just been to toilet and noticed some brown discharge in my knickersSad

Porgey1 · 02/09/2017 10:09

Morning all - hope it is nice and sunny wherever you are!

Nice reading everyone's posts this morning... totally getting the rage thing: my patience is non-existent and unfortunately DS is bearing the brunt of it Blush

Tending to get very bloated in the afternoon so can do my trousers up in the morning but having to carry a hairband in the pocket so I can stretch them out in the afternoon. Not looking forward to showing earlier (assume that'll happen as it's my second).

Also had a few moments of mild panic thinking back to the sleepless nights and screaming newborns and wondering how I'll cope with two! Sounds like we are all feeling similar things!

Porgey1 · 02/09/2017 10:11

@Hairgician - I'm sure it will be ok. I think Brown is ok but if you get bright red you should maybe phone 111?

Lindyj0 · 02/09/2017 10:15

I've been feeling irritable but not had proper rage yet. I remember feeling very angry last time before I had a miscarriage. Hoping I don't have to put my partner through the rage this time as he didn't really understand last time and took it personally bless him. Boobs feeling even more sore today than usual. I also have a viral infection at the moment so I'm not sure if the nausea and dizziness is down to that or pregnancy symptoms.

@Hairgician Hope everything is okay for you 🤞

Chipsahoy · 02/09/2017 10:36

@Hairgician I know it's scary but brown blood is old blood. Easy for me to say, but try not to worry.

Definitely having mood swings and my nipples are so sore, I don't remember it being this bad in previous pregnancies but it's been a while (youngest is 6) so maybe I have forgotten.

I tend to feel better in the morning. By 8pm I'm wiped out and feeling icky.

@Lindyj0 I hope you feel better soon

Hairgician · 02/09/2017 10:46

Trying not to worry or panic. Very hard not to. Feeling sick but no sore boobs today. Rang our out of hours number and nurse rang back to speak to me. Told me all you ladies have said, it's common, try to rest and not to worry and to ring back if gets worse. So everything crossed.

AlexsMum89 · 02/09/2017 10:54

I've not been full rage yet, but had one very irrational irritable day and yesterday I was very teary and upset. I couldn't eat properly either and my poor DH was very patient with me not eating the tea he made me and then swapped meals with me but I couldn't eat his either so I ended up eating a yoghurt and he ate both meals hahaha
