We're pretty early but thought I'd start a thread to see if anyone else is here already.

I'm 4+1, apparently due around 2 May. Would be great to have some company :). Already obsessing over every little thing. The next 8 weeks are going to drag!

That sounds very scary katie - hopefully it will come to nothing. I know lots of people it happened to and they went on to have their babies just fine

RedPanda25 · 31/08/2017 06:49

Thinking of you @katiegd let us know how you get on. It is common to have some spotting, so hoping this is just normal for you.

Hedwig1 · 31/08/2017 07:26

Fingers crossed for you katiegd hope they can reassure you & it has settled down

Hummingbird15 · 31/08/2017 08:02

Hope you get lots of reassurance at epu today katiegd

RedBlackberries · 31/08/2017 08:10

Hope you're ok katie.

I'm so thirsty. Anyone else? Big love of watermelon at the moment.

Thunderwing · 31/08/2017 08:12

Let us know how you are this morning Katiegd, I echo Hedwig's post and I hope you are soon reassured

katiegd · 31/08/2017 08:14

Thanks all. No bleeding this morning, which is good. Decided to go to my GP appt before calling anywhere else and see what they say.

Thinking of you @katiegd!! Hopefully your GP will give you some reassurance!

Kublakhan · 31/08/2017 08:24

Hope all ok Katie. My spotting has stopped which is good but it is still preying on my mind. I won't relax or believe it until my first scan, less than two weeks away now.

tiramisualwaystiramisu · 31/08/2017 08:32

I'm still in disbelief kubla - I was fairly sceptical until my 12 week scan last time round. Must get round to booking my first appointment soon

Firework83 · 31/08/2017 09:12

Good luck @katiegd glad it's stopped today.x

Fillybee · 31/08/2017 09:34

@katiegd Sounds promising that it's stopped, fingers crossed all will be well xx

MammaBear18 · 31/08/2017 09:36

Good luck with the GP @katiegd! Hopefully they can reassure you that all is good in your baby-making factory xxx

Thunderwing · 31/08/2017 09:51

Has everyone contacted their GP/Midwives already? I feel like I'm far too early to be doing that, I think that I will wait a couple of weeks before making the booking appointment.

I think I am putting it off for as long as possible because a) I lost my first pregnancy at 8 weeks so I am wary and b) my DD has Down's Syndrome so I am expecting some 'tilted head' chats from the MW about ensuring that I definitely get all the tests done asap...

Thunderwing · 31/08/2017 09:52

Oh and katiegp I'm so pleased that the spotting has stopped, I hope that the GP is able to reassure you!

katiegd · 31/08/2017 09:59

Thanks all. GP has referred me to EPU and they're scanning me on Monday morning. More likely to see what's going on then I guess anyway. Monday seems like a long way away.

tiramisualwaystiramisu · 31/08/2017 10:03

It's good you're getting checked katie - Monday will be here soon.

Thunderwing I haven't contacted the midwives yet either. I'm sorry to hear about your first pregnancy

Thunderwing · 31/08/2017 10:47

At least I'm not the only one tiramisu!

I was very lucky to fall incredibly quickly with my DD after my first loss - my DH has notions that he has, in fact, got super sperm; we've always conceived on the first attempt! We are incredibly lucky that way!

In some ways I feel more confident with this pregnancy but there is always that niggling voice in the back of my mind! I will definitely feel more assured when the 12 week scan has been done and all is well!

Firework83 · 31/08/2017 11:17

@katiegd it's good they are being cautious and fingers crossed everything is fine.

@thunderwing @tiramisualwaystiramisu I called my GP surgery this morning and they've booked me in to see my Doctor first next Thursday. I'll only be 5 weeks, 5 days then but because this is first time and I haven't got a clue what I'm doing I'd happily crack on and learn what the process is.

Thunderwing · 31/08/2017 11:47

Absolutely firework, I remember that feeling very well!

It's good that you are able to see your GP first hopefully they will be able to address any of your initial concerns and tell you what to expect.

Like others here, I will be directed straight to the midwives and IIRC the booking appointment is scheduled for around the 8 week point. (In fact I remember that the receptionist was a bit of a snotty mare when I expressed my surprise at not being seen earlier than 8 weeks - especially in light of my previous mc Hmm)

Fillybee · 31/08/2017 12:11

I registered at GP on Friday last week, when I was only like 4+2 but I did it because a) I only have Fridays off work and b) because I've had 2 miscarriages I think they do an early scan on the NHS so I wanted to get the ball rolling asap so that hopefully I'll be able to have a scan at about 8 weeks.

Also I wanted it to be registered asap because I wanted it to be on the books incase I do have another miscarriage, as they do further investigations if you have 3.

Is anyone feeling sick? I feel slightly queasy at about 9am until I eat some fruit but that's it!

Chipsahoy · 31/08/2017 12:33

Hi all, this moves so fast it's hard to keep up! Congratulations to you all.

@katiegd a bit of spotting isn't uncommon it really isn't, I hope Monday comes quickly for you, I know you must be anxious. Flowers

@Fillybee definitely feeling queezy on and off. My main symptom is pulling and stretching and aching in my pelvis which I had early in the last two pregnancies, so feeling reassured by it. Also exhausted.

I have an appointment with Gp but earliest I could get will be two weeks from now. Ill be exactly 6weeks so not too fussed.

MammaBear18 · 31/08/2017 14:19

@Thunderwing my GP doesn't even want to See Me, got directed to make an appointment with the midwives at the hospital once I'm 6 weeks!

@katiegd I'm glad they are sending you for an ultrasound but Monday does feel like light years away!

No sickness for me either 😔 had some intense heartburn few days ago but it's all done now. I would prefer it it was here though!

Firework83 · 31/08/2017 14:37

@FillyBee I'm sooooo bloated I can't do my jeans up!!! Otherwise same as @Chipsahoy just general pulling and tugging. Do feel quite dizzy today too.

Lindyj0 · 31/08/2017 14:38

Hope everything's okay Katie, fingers crossed for you.
