We're pretty early but thought I'd start a thread to see if anyone else is here already.

I'm 4+1, apparently due around 2 May. Would be great to have some company :). Already obsessing over every little thing. The next 8 weeks are going to drag!

Hey, I'm currently 6wks+5 so due on May 1st.
First pregnancy and I have no idea what I'm doing! The doctor won't see me as I have to make an appointment with a midwife instead but I can't get hold of them and they won't call me back, been trying for the last two and a half weeks!
I've been feeling really nauseous for the last few days but eating does tend to help. Little and often! Only my husband and I know about it, can't decide whether to tell close friends yet or not, I had a chemical pregnancy the month before this one so I'm really hoping this one stays put! So excited but it's so hard keeping secrets!! Anyone else in this dilemma??
Good to know there are so many of us going through the same thing right now :)

BabyLord · 10/09/2017 11:48

Hello! I'm 4 weeks tomorrow, due May 21st. I have found out so early got a very strong bfp a few days ago. Can't tell many people in real life so i'm glad i found you guys!

MammaBear18 · 10/09/2017 12:17

Welcome @kkmotts and @BabyLord and congratulations!

*kkmotts I had a chemical before this (although much more before than you did) and my BFP didn't stay on past a few days. I think if you made it to nearly week 7 and still get strong positives and symptoms, you can rule out the chemical Flowers

kkmotts · 10/09/2017 12:43

Thanks @mammabear18 I am confident this is a real one, because I'm feeling so sick today! My boobs have grown loads and have just stopped being painful. Just wish I could see a midwife to answer some of my questions!
No idea how I'm going to cope at work this week if I continue to feel so crappy. Need to start putting myself first I suppose!
It's great to see the community here and read about how everyone else is coping :)

RhiKHo · 10/09/2017 13:36

BabyLord I'm due 22nd May (according to the NHS website!) literally found out yesterday with strong bfp line. So excited but it's my first so also very nervous. Fingers crossed all goes well. We've decided not to tell anyone until at least 8 weeks so it's great to have found this thread! Smile

Lauraandbump2 · 10/09/2017 13:43

Thanks for the replies regarding midwife issues. Not too worried about appointment with them, more concerned with the scan being later than 12 weeks, seeing as they haven't registered me yet and I'm already 7+ weeks. Been a long enough wait as it is to make sure everything is good & well.

On the sickness front - anyone feel ok aslong as they're eating? ...i'm going to end up the size of a house!! Blush

AndBabyMakes5 · 10/09/2017 13:49

With my DD1 they forgot to refer me for my booking appointment! The first I heard was a letter for 12 week scan, so I went along for that and they were like, oh, you were supposed to have had a booking appointment! So I had one the same day as the scan. It's nothing major, you just fill in a load of forms and they take blood etc x

smu06set · 10/09/2017 13:53

dorotha I haven't done anything yet! I'm 4+3, will ring the docs in the next week or two. Thankfully they don't normally have more than a weeks wait on appointments so not what some of you are going through.
kkmotts I really want to tell people too! So far only me and hubby know, will tell MIL on Thursday. Can't wait to have someone else to talk about it with, hubby bless him is rather out of his depth!

kkmotts · 10/09/2017 14:21

@smu06set tell me about it! He's doing everything he can for me, very supportive but we still have to google everything when it comes to what I can and can't eat and how I'm feeling. I've got issues with IBS as well so feeling pretty bloated and unattractive at the moment which doesn't do much for my self esteem. Decided not to tell by one until we get an initial appointment so probably a few weeks to wait yet!

smu06set · 10/09/2017 15:39

We are telling MIL as she has cancer at the moment and really needs the boost this will give her...everyone else will have to wait but it's killing me!
Just done a digital and I've progressed from 1-2 to 2-3 (fits with me now being 4+3) so all seems ok thus far...DH just asked why one pregnancy test wasn't enough....lol

Hairgician · 10/09/2017 15:53

Lol I went through 2 Superdrug early ones, then 3 frer, 2 clearblue and 2 clearblue digiBlushGrin
Spent a fucking fortune!!

smu06set · 10/09/2017 16:09

I have one digital left i shall use in a weeks time to try and get the 3+, that's it. Honest...

MooChops89 · 10/09/2017 17:19

I said I'd stop at 5 weeks but did another this morning Blush nice strong line came up before the test line even did! Have noticed I feel really rough in the evenings, was sick last night too. Trying to decide when to tell my manager, will be 6 weeks on Thursday so maybe then. When are you all thinking of telling work?

MammaBear18 · 10/09/2017 17:24

I did one this morning too Blush Still no morning sickness or nausea so I worry.

I'm going to hold off as close as I can to 12 weeks with my boss(es!), but will be telling my closer colleagues in few weeks I imagine.

katiegd · 10/09/2017 17:27

I did so much testing. I bought 20 strip tests for about £4 off the internet a few months ago and still had quite a few left. I have now used them all up Blush. I think I just enjoyed the feeling of seeing the line come up. Did one digital as well just to see the words.

Also feel like I'm going to be the size of a house before long. I can't stop eating and have a belly already. I have My Fitness Pal set to maintaining weight (about 1660 cals per day). I have tracked a few days recently and am def going over. I think I'm also doing less activity due to tiredness.

Dorotha · 10/09/2017 17:31

Last time I told work at about 10 weeks because I threw up on the train so turned back home. This time I'll see how I feel. If I'm struggling with sickness I'll tell earlier. If not, I'll wait until it shows. I'm covering for two people from next week so it's likely to be manic.

MooChops89 · 10/09/2017 17:42

I'm booked at the hospital I work at so they will find out when the referral comes in from the community midwife anyway Grin

Dorotha · 10/09/2017 17:44

@MooChops89 are you the midwife over here? 😀

BabyLord · 10/09/2017 17:48

Rhikho yay!! It's my second and i'm still nervous lol! How did you find out so early? I found out by accident at the hospital as i thought my iron was low, then did 3 first response tests when i got home to make sure Grin. I now have a load of pound shop tests because i'm probably unhealthily obsessed...

smu06set · 10/09/2017 17:59

Assuming I carry on with no morning sickness, I have no intention of telling work until well past 12 weeks! To qualify for mat pay I think I have to tell them by 25 weeks, but I imagine I will be showing by then, so aiming for around 18 weeks. Though I have one friend at work who will kill me if I wait that long to tell her!!

MooChops89 · 10/09/2017 18:11

@Dorotha maybe... Wink

JuniUmiZoomi · 10/09/2017 19:54

With my first I didn't tell work until the last week that you can, 25 weeks I think. Then I went off at 29 weeks (I was being bullied). It's all so different this time I'm not sure what to do as I'm working with nice people. I'll probably wait til 12 week scan but if I'm hurling everywhere I might have to!

MegsMog · 10/09/2017 20:25

With DD I told my manager around 6 weeks because I was feeling awful and reasoned that if I miscarried I would want to take a few days off, and if I didn't he'd know anyway! I told others at work after our 12 week scan.

I'm mainly a SAHM now, I just do a tiny bit of freelance work so it's not an issue.

We've been quite open with some of our friends and family about the recurrent MCs so a few people already know I'm pregnant as I've been keeping them updated and know I will value their support if anything goes wrong (and their support if this pregnancy continues - am slightly terrified at idea of actually having two children and having to spilt my time with DD!)

Dorotha · 10/09/2017 20:58

I'm genuinely terrified of having two children. I don't know how people do it! Suppose I'll find out. Hmm

smu06set · 10/09/2017 21:12

This child is due the week our son will be sitting his SATs....!
