We're pretty early but thought I'd start a thread to see if anyone else is here already.

I'm 4+1, apparently due around 2 May. Would be great to have some company :). Already obsessing over every little thing. The next 8 weeks are going to drag!

And great news Katie on your scan!!

katiegd · 04/09/2017 15:03

Thanks all. It was an NHS scan as I had some bleeding last week so was referred for an early one. In hindsight it was a very tiny amount of spotting so I shouldn't have panicked, but I am glad to have had it checked out as it's reduced my anxiety a lot.

Going by LMP I'm 5+5 but they dated me at approx 6-7 weeks. My cycles are a bit shorter than average, but I don't think I can be any more than 6 weeks. I think bigger than expected is good though isn't it?

Anyway, I'm so relieved it's looking normal for now :-).

Great news Katie, hopefully you can relax and enjoy and uneventful pregnancy now.

Morning sickness has started. Not sick yet but I wasn't in other pregnancies. Feel fine ish until about 4 and then it starts, so evening sickness.

I can't complain too much as by then I've finished work, dc are home and relaxing and I've normally done housework and prepped dinner.

Just opened the fridge onto the roast beef we are having later and Envy.. Not sure I'll be having any!

Sense of smell is heightened too. Fun and games

How's eveeyone else doing?

tiramisualwaystiramisu · 04/09/2017 17:40

Great news about your scan katie - wishing you a stress-free rest of pregnancy.

Am a bit grumpy today - got stuck on trains into work and then tried to book my midwife appointment. They've changed it recently and I've had to go in and fill in a form, which gets faxed to the midwives and then they will contact me for an appointment! Much more complicated than last time - hope they get in touch soon

JuniUmiZoomi · 04/09/2017 17:59

Great news Katie, it's nice to get a bit of relief!
Totally forgot to book midwife today. I'll do it on Wednesday. My sense of smell is a bit heightened so having to be careful what I say at work as no one will be able to smell anything and wondering what I'm on about!

Dorotha · 04/09/2017 17:59

Last time I didn't see anyone until nearly 12 weeks (booking in appointment with the midwife). Then bloods and scan at nearly 13 weeks. That's despite registering at 6 weeks.

I still have my head in the sand and don't know if i want the same hospital or a different one.. Prenatal care was OK (with an exception of one dodgy midwife) but postnatal ward was hell on earth and I swore to never come back there. But I suppose we could just self discharge if we end up there?

Dorotha · 04/09/2017 18:02

I'm feeling really feverish in the evenings. Slightly raised temperature and a full on muscle ache everywhere. Anyone else? I'm not sure if this is normal.

NannyGR · 04/09/2017 18:14

lovely news about your scan katie, great for piece of mind. Anxiety has really hit me today, on constant knicker watch....
not many symptoms other than being exhausted but that could be as its my first day back after a week off straight back into 12 hr days! and needed a wee more often and boobs a bit tender. other than that nothing! hope everyone has had a good day!!

Apparently so SexLubeAndaFishSlice - it doesn't surprise me. Think for the NHS, faxing is still a thing. Something about being more secure, I think?!

MrsH2017 · 04/09/2017 18:45

Hi ladies! I'm 5 + 6 today and boy am I feeling rough! Constant nausea, always hungry but no appetite for anything other than raw carrots! Looking forward to my scan next Sunday :-) hoping it will remind me the sickness is actually because there's a little one in there!

How is everyone coping at work?

Also love that Princess Kate is expecting around the same time as us! I've read she's due late April early May, but god knows how the media know that!

Chipsahoy · 04/09/2017 18:47

@Dorotha the feeling hot and cold is normal. I am the same, it's hormones. I got the same right after birth both times too.

Aches and pains also normal. Lots of stretching going on inside. Rest when you u
can.

AndBabyMakes5 · 04/09/2017 19:02

haha brilliant!!

I've requested to join the fb group :)

MrsH2017 · 04/09/2017 19:16

I've requested to join a group for a friendly natter via the link further up on the page. Hope it's still the right one :-)

midgetjen · 04/09/2017 19:31

Just had my first pregnancy disappointment - realised the gorgeous cheese in the fridge made with unpasteurized milk is now off limits - sob!

AlexsMum89 · 04/09/2017 19:41

Bummer @midgetjen . I've got a fridge full of crisp cider after hosting a bbq at the weekend...

Doublechocolatetiffin · 04/09/2017 20:02

I'll join the Facebook group a bit later on I think. My MIL has a tendency to follow things I do on facebook quite closely and I'm a bit nervous she'd see the group and decide to join too and give the game away. It's much easier to follow though isn't it. We had secret groups for my DD and I was on one briefly earlier this year before I found out I'd miscarried and they were great.

MotherofBoy · 04/09/2017 20:03

Decided to join fb group after 12w scan as I am paranoid cos it's not a secret group!

Boobs still hurting... heightened smell and just had a hormonal breakdown. Feeling v irritable today.

3+4... so long to go!

NannyGR · 04/09/2017 20:03

Have managed to request to join facebook group now :-)

endofacentury · 04/09/2017 20:16

I had a pink bit on toilet tissue when I wiped earlier, and feeling crampy. AF due on Wednesday so I'm worried it may be over for me already ☹️ will test again in the morning though and see what happens.

MammaBear18 · 04/09/2017 20:20

@Dorotha I had similar thing last night - felt like I was coming down with the flu! I stayed in bed most day/evening and feel much better today.

Quite jealous of everyone's nausea, I've got nothing so far! 🙁 but it's my first so I probably worry too much!

MarshmallowMeadow · 04/09/2017 20:49

I'm now 5+6 (I think) and really worried about lack of symptoms.

I had a few days of feeling tired, very slightly sore boobs (on and off) and loss of appetite. Today I feel totally normal and I'm worrying. I get bad motion sickness and my mum had severe morning sickness with me, so I'm wondering why I'm not feeling nauseous.

This is my first so not totally sure what to expect, I've not had any spotting or cramping (just a slight pulling sensation and a few mild twinges but even those have vanished today). Please reassure me that it doesn't necessarily mean something is wrong, I'm going mad with all the Googling!

MotherofBoy · 04/09/2017 20:57

mamma and marshmallow be grateful for no nausea, not everyone gets it! I didn't have any nausea with DS. I had extreme tiredness and a lot of food aversions but no sickness or nausea. Completely went off meat and pretty much could only eat cheese potatoes fruit and olives (especially oranges huge craving for them). But never had a single bout of nausea! Crossing fingers for none this time too...

MotherofBoy · 04/09/2017 20:58

Also my cravings and food aversions didn't really kick in until about 8 weeks

electricblue2017 · 04/09/2017 20:58

5 + 1 for me, second child. Is anyone suffering from spd yet? I had t with my first from 12 weeks but think it has raised its ugly head early
