We're pretty early but thought I'd start a thread to see if anyone else is here already.

I'm 4+1, apparently due around 2 May. Would be great to have some company :). Already obsessing over every little thing. The next 8 weeks are going to drag!

No real symptoms here yet apart from slightly sore boobs earlier.
I had obstetric cholestasis with my son so will be on itch alert later on in the pregnancy. For now I'm in the knicker watch club too!

HerSymphonyAndSong · 05/09/2017 06:35

Hello, may I join?
Had faint positives over last couple of days that are getting stronger - period due today/tomorrow and I think I am about 4 weeks. Due date calculators indicate about 15th May

First time pg, I'm very anxious! It doesn't feel real. I have had very bruised-feeling humungotits for two weeks and I thought it was some kind of mega-PMS

PabloEscobarlo · 05/09/2017 06:50

Hi, please may I join? Faint positives here and think I'll be due around 15th of may!

Will be my 2nd as I have dd who is nearly 5 but due to a relationship breakdown and pnd I can't really remember the baby days :-(

It's dp's first baby, somehow with our impatience I'm in my final year at uni and the baby will be due a month after we get married! I'm assuming that the dress hanging in the spare room is so not going to fit!

How is everyone?

katiegd · 05/09/2017 06:54

Sorry to hear you're worried @endofacentury . Spotting and cramping is really common in early pregnancy (as I've found out) so doesn't necessarily mean anything is wrong. Let us know how you get on testing again today. If you're worried maybe give your GP a call?

Hi and welcome @HerSymphonyAndSong and @PabloEscobarlo !

I tried to make a midwife appointment yesterday and was told that she has no appointments til October and is away til next week anyway, so I have to call back next week to book in for first week in October (I'll be 10 weeks then).

Does anyone know how long it takes for a scan referral to come through once you've seen midwife? Worried that if I see her late, we'll be really late getting our dating scan.

HerSymphonyAndSong · 05/09/2017 07:05

Wow Pablo you have a busy few months there!

I'm also doing a uni course (OU) and will have exams 3 weeks after due date. I can defer, and will think about this properly when things feel more certain. It's daft but I didn't think it would happen this month as I did quite a bit of long-distance travel which messes around with my cycle

NannyGR · 05/09/2017 07:17

woken up this morning to slight spotting.... i really hope it's not happening again 😣😣

PabloEscobarlo · 05/09/2017 07:23

I have @HerSymphonyAndSong, I've got to have a good think what I'd like to do. I'm a student nurse so really hoping I can get to April and then when I go back just jump back to the cohort six months behind for just my final placement

tiramisualwaystiramisu · 05/09/2017 07:27

katie - I had to ring up and book my scan after my midwife appointment and it was pretty easy to do.

I currently have horrible heartburn - had forgotten that from my last pregnancy. Anyone else have it?

katiegd · 05/09/2017 07:44

Oh no @NannyGR - don't panic, it could be nothing. Can you call your GP for advice?

Tiramisu - that sounds good that you could just call to book yours - my DP is away around the 12 week mark so I was worried they'd just send us an appointment and I'd have to change it. How far in advance did you book your scan?

Morning all!

I'm really cross with my body: I've been waking up with terrible migraines every single morning this week. I had this with my son but it didn't start until the second trimester when I felt a bit better about the painkillers. But I can't function otherwise. I was under consultant care for this last time but all they could offer me were beta blockers (which I refused) and acupuncture (which provided a temporary relief). Gaaahh!!

midgetjen · 05/09/2017 08:16

@NannyGR hope all is okay. The first trimester can be so stressful can't it? Agree with @Katie to ring your gp if you are concerned. I had a little early.bleed with my son and they sent me for an early scan so they may be able to do that for reassurance for you.
@Dorotha hope they can do something for you. I don't have migraines very often but when I do I just can't function so you really have my sympathy

MammaBear18 · 05/09/2017 08:30

Welcome@PabloEscobarlo and @HerSymphonyAndSong! My first too and it doesn't feel real yet as well 😁

@NannyGR hope the spotting goes away - Katie here had a similar scare but everything ended up fine 😘

Doublechocolatetiffin · 05/09/2017 08:38

Nanny I'm really sorry to hear that, call your GP and speak to them about an early scan. Fingers crossed it's all ok.

Dorotha that sounds really tough, I wonder if there is another alternative therapy that might help? Cranial osteopathy or chiropractic maybe?

NannyGR · 05/09/2017 08:48

im not sure they will scan me so early.... im 5 weeks tomorrow, and last time i mc it took 4 weeks of bleeding for them to actually scan me, think I'll wait it out and see how the next few days go! hope everyone else is feeling ok today

MotherofBoy · 05/09/2017 09:03

Morning all welcome to new joiners!

Re scans I never had a problem with getting a scan date, you have to have it in certain window so they will book you in regardless don't worry.

Nice line progression and temp rises this morning going to stop testing now 😁 Af due today, 14dpo!

3+5...

Dorotha · 05/09/2017 09:08

Ladies, I'm joining the spotting brigade. Perhaps temperature wasn't a good sign. I'm quite sore as well so will keep an eye on it to exclude ectopic. I'll keep you posted.

HerSymphonyAndSong · 05/09/2017 09:38

Everything crossed for you nannygr

Fillybee · 05/09/2017 09:59

I want to join the panicking club too... Been feeling some funny pains, kind of inbetween cramping and sharp pain. I darent go to the loo as I don't want to see anything 😰😰😰. Got a scan booked for Saturday but feel like maybe I'll not even make it to that... don't want to mention it to DH as he'll start panicking. Glad I can mention it to you lot! 6 weeks tomorrow 🤞🤞🤞

Have all of us who are panicking had previous miscarriages? Hopefully we're just being a bit overly sensitive to minute symptoms xxx

Catndogmummy · 05/09/2017 10:09

Hi Everyone, I had some spotting and cramping on Sunday, a friend of mine told me to look up bedding in as it was likely to be that... since then the spotting and cramping has stopped (and extreme nausea/sickness has started)! Hopefully it will be the same for a lot of you who are spotting... without the nausea/sickness after! 🤞

MooChops89 · 05/09/2017 10:24

@Fillybee also panicking, one one hand I'm reassured by the cramps and on the other I keep going to the toilet expecting to see blood. Not had a miscarriage before but a few people I know have lost their first pregnancies and when I read peoples experiences on MN it feels like nobody's first pregnancy stuck past the first 12 weeks. I'm still testing every other day for reassurance and it's been 10 days! 😣

HerSymphonyAndSong · 05/09/2017 10:40

"one one hand I'm reassured by the cramps and on the other I keep going to the toilet expecting to see blood"

Same here - first pregnancy too

HerSymphonyAndSong · 05/09/2017 10:40

I Can't imagine how anxious those of you who have had MC must be 💐

AlexsMum89 · 05/09/2017 10:41

@moochops89 my first pregnancy stuck firmly - my boy is now 7. I hope that gives you some kind of comfort.
I won't lie though, even though I have no history I also am on knicker watch. Every time I go to the loo. I can't wait until the first scan...

katiegd · 05/09/2017 10:55

Flowers to all of you feeling anxious right now. Remember that although miscarriage is common, your pregnancy is much more likely to succeed than not. That mantra has helped calm me down a bit over the past few weeks!
