We're pretty early but thought I'd start a thread to see if anyone else is here already.

I'm 4+1, apparently due around 2 May. Would be great to have some company :). Already obsessing over every little thing. The next 8 weeks are going to drag!

Thanks Mother of Boy! It's nice to hear from another second timer!
I work part time and it's not even a promotion but I side step to a different department. In fact it's a very very dull role but I'd hoped to progress from there because my current job is a dead end one.
Now I worry that I'll neither have the energy to learn new ropes (and move FT) nor to aspire for much.
Obviously it's very early days but I have one week to submit my application (I told them I'd be applying) and zero inspiration. Basically, I don't want it anymore but also don't want to appear flakey..
Good luck with your promotion!

Dorotha · 03/09/2017 18:00

Ps sorry about the dodgy spelling. I can't work out how to edit the post on my phone.

midgetjen · 03/09/2017 18:18

Those who already have another - how do you think your DC will react to being an older sibling? I have a 2 and a half year old who could probably kindly be described as spirited!
Not quite sure what he will make of no2!

MotherofBoy · 03/09/2017 18:41

midget mine too - he is v used to being spoilt by grandparents, havin 1:1 time and getting what he wants! He has been round babies a lot luckily and is v kind to them stroking heads and kissing etc but not sure how he will feel when he realises there is one to stay...

Jaronior · 03/09/2017 18:44

@MooChops89 yes I'm 4+3 too!!!!! Xx

endofacentury · 03/09/2017 19:07

Hello, is it ok if I tentatively join you? I've had positives the past couple of days, tho af not officially due til weds. All being well I'll be due 16th may 😊
I have one child who is 13 and an adopted child who is a toddler, so been a long time since my first was born and nervous about telling them the news!
My breasts have been so sore at times preventing me from sleeping at night, have had waves of nausea and been so tired had have a nap some days! Hopefully means all is well. Looking forward to sharing the journey with you all 😊

tiramisualwaystiramisu · 03/09/2017 19:21

Welcome to all the new people - so exciting hearing about so many BFPs!

Dorotha I'm desperately trying to sort out my work before telling them. I'm on a maternity cover contract and have been trying to convince them it should be a job share, as it's currently a part-time role, which is v rare in my industry, so would like to stay a bit longer!

MooChops89 · 03/09/2017 19:57

@Jaronior yay a due date buddy! Grin

Dorotha · 03/09/2017 20:14

Endofcentuary, my little sister was born when I was 12.5 and we have the best relationship! It's a great age gap.

Daniela50 · 03/09/2017 20:21

Motherofboy; thanks for your advice. I am pleased there will hopefully be some respite mid pregnancy as I and feeling so low at the moment.

NannyGR · 03/09/2017 20:23

Hi all, anxiously joining as i found out today that i am pregnant after 6 long years of trying and a mc last october... due date would be 8th may.... hoping the next few weeks go quickly as i feel the anxiety already starting to step in. 1st child but do have a step son aged 8. How is everyone doing??

endofacentury · 03/09/2017 20:31

Thanks Dorotha, I really hope that is the case! 😊

Dorotha · 03/09/2017 20:44

Nanny, welcome!! I really hope it's sticky one. So many of my friends miscarried lately, it's horrible, my heart breaks for you xxx

Jaronior · 03/09/2017 20:56

All the best for you @NannyGR xx

Jaronior · 03/09/2017 21:02

@endofacentury I will have an 11 year old and 7 year old by the time this baby is born (all being well) I also have an 18yr old step daughter from my first marriage! Teen, Pre teen and a junior- I hope they get on!!! Lol

Fillybee · 03/09/2017 21:14

Wow @NannyGR, 6 years trying, I've got everything crossed for you. There seems to be quite a few of us who have had previous miscarriages so we can all be anxious together! 😬😬

My first early scan is this Saturday when I'll be 6+3, I hope this week goes quickly but something tells me it may drag!

AndBabyMakes5 · 03/09/2017 21:14

I have two daughters age 7 and 5. DD1 was 21 months when DD2 was born. It was hard work at first but I loved having them close together and although now they do fight, they're little mates and have a lovely relationship. We hadn't planned another and this baby is a surprise! I'm in the last year of my masters degree whilst also working full time, so this is going to be interesting!!

Doublechocolatetiffin · 03/09/2017 23:33

I hope everyone has had a good weekend and welcome and congratulations to the people who have joined. I'm utterly exhausted. I have no idea if it's pregnancy or from throwing a party for 60 people yesterday - I'm not sure I've got away with not drinking and no one noticing! It's hard to use my usual 'I'm driving' excuse when you're already at home.

I had a bit of a sleepless night last night too, I woke thinking my boobs weren't sore any more and worrying. I want to be excited about this but can't until I get through the first trimester. I am feeling horribly bloated though so much so it's uncomfortable eating. Still I'm not complaining - I'll take any symptom as a good thing.

I've got a nearly 2 yr old DD and I have no idea what she'll be like with a sibling. She's not great at sharing at the moment, but I guess she"ll have to learn!

RedBlackberries · 04/09/2017 07:16

I can't keep up with the thread.
I've mentioned dd might have a little baby next year. I asked what she'd do if the baby was crying. Stroke it and feed it sausages apparently Grin

Jaronior · 04/09/2017 07:32

Is there a secret Facebook group going? Shall i start one?

Dorotha · 04/09/2017 07:58

Yes please! I really want a fb group. My old one is still very active and it's so much easier than on MN (has to be secret of course). Happy to help / set up xxx

Dorotha · 04/09/2017 08:00

And yes - excruciatingly sore boobs here. Isn't it annoying how early this starts? I fed my son for over 3 years so just reclaimed my body and was enjoying tiny boobs and underwire bras :) Now they're back to being alien boobs.

Hummingbird15 · 04/09/2017 08:12

Sorry I've not posted much, it's lovely reading all your messages. I think there was mention of a fb group further back on the thread so it may already be up and running. If it's ok, I'll wait til after a scan to join - mc paranoia is high here right now!

Does anyone else suffer with a dodgy stomach rather than sickness? I'd forgotten that this happened last time too.... although there's obviously still plenty of time for sickness to join the party too!!
