We're pretty early but thought I'd start a thread to see if anyone else is here already.

I'm 4+1, apparently due around 2 May. Would be great to have some company :). Already obsessing over every little thing. The next 8 weeks are going to drag!

Have done another test and I definite but still faint line (my cycles are a bit irregular so may just be testing earlier than I'd thought!)
Think my EDD will be around the 11th May and this will be no2 for us. DS was a surprise so it's definitely going to be different this time!
No symptoms here yet but my sympathies to anyone who is already feeling rough. I'm hoping I swerve the morning sickness this time but not likely!

Hairgician · 03/09/2017 09:32

Morning sickness already kicking in! Doing dp breakfast there and had to fight the urge to puke. Uurgh thought I had at least a couple of weeks before that started.

MammaBear18 · 03/09/2017 10:04

Welcome @TheFimbleFowl!

@midgetjen don't worry too much about faint lines, my first two (two days apart) we're very faint and it looked like there was very little to none colour progression. But they kicked off after that 😊

@MotherOfBoy I feel you with the boobs, mine decided to get on the hormone wagon yesterday and ouch!

katiegd · 03/09/2017 10:11

My boob pain has also kicked off big time. Hoping it's all a sign that things are ok in there. Bit of nausea too. Mostly due to being hungry I think. DP making me breakfast.

Sorry to hear your nausea has started so early hairgician. Must be such a sinking feeling if you had it badly last time.

Midgetjen - congratulations on second positive test!

Hi all, please can I join? I've been on holiday for the past week and was due on whilst away. I had no feeling that the dreaded af was coming and got home last night, 4days late. Tested and.....bam! Two nice lines. I've had 3 recent miscarriages so am hoping this one sticks. These are my lines at 4w 3d, they are the darkest I've had so hoping we are good. I'm hungry, having crazy dreams and tired, here's hoping xx

Hello everyone,
Congratulations on your BFPs.
I am 6+1 today and have been feeling really flat as a result of the hormones over the last couple of weeks - anyone who's been here before, will this settle when the HCG drops at 12-14 weeks?! I really hope so!
I also had my first vomiting session this morning...I hope that won't turn into a daily occurrence.
Thank you for your help!

Flumplet · 03/09/2017 11:49

My boobs have stopped hurting today at 5+1 and I'm worried something's up anyone else had similar? 😩

MotherofBoy · 03/09/2017 11:57

daniela I felt almost fine by about 16 weeks. Between 6 and 14 weeks I was absolutely whacked kept falling asleep when I got in from work! It will ease... til you get to about 32 weeks then it gets worse again 😆

Piewraith · 03/09/2017 12:33

Hi everyone, got my BFP this week as due on 12/5. Was excited at first, now just nervous. Already dreading the third trimester and the labour.

I rang up to make an appointment with the midwife and was told "oh I don't know, we are nearly full up". Nearly full up? I rang up when I was 3+4. You aren't even supposed to have tested yet! Are women ringing up before they have even had sex? So I feel the antenatal care is going to be a hassle. Anyway they gave me an appointment for November 3, when I will be 14 weeks. I thought you would be seen sooner tbh.

MotherofBoy · 03/09/2017 12:42

Oh gosh pie you need to call again and complain!! You should be seen between 8-10 weeks and then obviously your scan is between 12-14 weeks but you need a midwife referral first! I'd be straight back on the phone! We are moving house next week so I need to register with a gp before I can get an appointment, earliest I can register is 5w so hoping they will be able to fit me in!

Piewraith · 03/09/2017 13:54

They said they are sending out paperwork so I can only assume they are sending out the referral by post and I take the scan along when I eventually see the midwife?

JuniUmiZoomi · 03/09/2017 14:08

Are women ringing up before they have even had sex? Oh god this made me chortle! Are you in the UK pie that sounds ridiculous.

Had my first proper feeling pukey today. Just increased my hours at work too so that's brilliant timing...Hmm

Help me out here, when you call the midwife/dr reception to book in what do you actually say? I did it through my GP last time and she did it but I know I can actually book direct with midwife.

MotherofBoy · 03/09/2017 14:24

Even so pie, I would definitely be calling up to complain as that does sound a bit outrageous! As you normally then need a 16w appt too - better book that in quick!

juni last time I rang gp reception I just said I've just found out I'm pregnant so need to make an appt with the midwife. She took my details (lmp, name, tel) and then asked midwife to call me back to make an appt.

Fillybee · 03/09/2017 14:33

@Jaronior that line looks really really strong for 4w 3d, got to be a good sign surely!

@Piewraith first appt with midwife at 14 weeks?! That sounds a bit crazy! I thought the 8-10 week bloods were done at that time for a particular reason. I'd ring back for sure....

Piewraith · 03/09/2017 15:34

I'm not in the UK so maybe it's different, but I will ring back tomorrow and confirm how my scans and blood tests will be organised.

And yes better book in for the next appointment, and for the delivery itself at this rate. Lol.

MooChops89 · 03/09/2017 15:45

I can't remember if this has already been discussed but when is everyone contacting their midwife? I'm 4+3 today but have got 6 weeks as a milestone in my own head, thought I'd ring then. Been shopping with a friend today and throwing her off the scent, she's been telling me not to stress and it'll happen for me one day 🙊 I'm so desperate to tell her but also like that only me and DH know for now and I don't want to jinx anything!

AndBabyMakes5 · 03/09/2017 16:10

Hello! I'm due my 3rd baby on 15th May! How are you all feeling? x

MotherofBoy · 03/09/2017 16:10

moo as we are moving house and I need to register with a gp I will be doing so at 4+6 as I am off work! I looked online and in my area it said they do gp appt 6-8 weeks, then booking at 10 weeks. So I think sooner the better so I get the 6w appt. and as I am a new patient need to go through all that registering rigmarole too! Otherwise I think I would have phoned at about 5w anyway as appts in this area are hard to come by

MotherofBoy · 03/09/2017 16:11

Hi andbaby! Feeling fine other than horrendously sore nipples! I am due 17th so we are pretty close tho I ovulated early so if you go by ov it is 15th!

Jaronior · 03/09/2017 16:33

Thank you, I thought it looked strong too- and that was evening urine! Hoping it means it's got a good chance of sticking x

MooChops89 · 03/09/2017 16:36

@Jaronior are you 4+3 today as well then?

MammaBear18 · 03/09/2017 16:47

I was told to self-refer online at the NHS pregnancy website and then call the midwife to book my first appointment once I'm 6 weeks. Next Friday!

I feel so tired today, it just hit me like a ton of bricks! I went to town in the late morning for some shopping but was so exhausted afterwards that I had a nap when I got back - and only just woke up! Anyone else suddenly really tired?

Wiggleyfingers · 03/09/2017 17:09

Cautiously tip toeing into this club! Got a faint positive on a frer this morning but only 9dpo so I've very nervous.
If all goes well, due 18th May...❤

Dorotha · 03/09/2017 17:24

Hi guys!
Can I join you?
Last time I was lurking around and waiting until nearly 10 weeks but I have have to share this somewhere!
So my EDD is 7th of May. This comes as a shock because we were away at the festival last weekend. I didn't want AF so I took pregnancy test two days beforehand (we have JUST decided to 'to see what happens' and no one gets pregnant immediately, right?) and it was a strong negative so I took period delay pills for 4 days. Then I had hospital appointment on Wednesday and they wanted to do a full spine x Ray. The radiologist asked me if I could be pregnant and I said 'well I had a negative test but I'm due my period today and it's not here yet'. They refused to X Ray and suggested a blood test but my consultant just said 'oh come back after you're sure you're not pregnant'. I thought 'oh god so much fuss over a small chance!'. Two days later I had a huge sickness wave at work and I'm suddenly thinking.. shit.. I'm quite overdo now. And boom - a positive test!
I still don't really believe it and it's early days. Also, I'm terrified. My first pregnancy was really rough and I don't know how I will get through this while also looking after a my first child (and working - I'm supposed to be applying for a role in a different department next week!). So yeah. Totally freaking out.
Congratulations everyone!

MotherofBoy · 03/09/2017 17:44

Welcome dorotha! I too work full time and am trying to get promotion atm... hope I secure it before I need to announce! My DS is 2, already wondering how challenging that will be when I am huge and uncomfortable.
