There's two different models the Next2me which has a zip and doesn't rock, and the Next2me Dream which has the fold down mechanism and has the rocking option Smile

Rosehyd2 · 21/08/2017 17:04

Regarding bedside crib, I definitely want one. I had thought I liked the Snuzpod but in person it felt quite clinical.

I've now fallen in love with the Tutti Bambini bedside crib as it will fit our nursery perfectly (aka the colour scheme of paint and carpet that room already has).

ForumUsername · 21/08/2017 17:08

I thought the snuzpod seemed much more sturdy when I seen them in a shop
The Chico seemed to wobble quite a bit

Anyone know if that was because of how it was put together or am I just being overly critical because I prefer the look of the snuzpod?

Maybebaby2 · 21/08/2017 17:15

Rosehyd2 they are two different forms, the one you were given for medical exemption card is the FW8 form. The MATB1 form is the one that you need to prove your pregnancy to your employer to receive mat pay. You can only get it after 20 weeks and it needs to be given to your employer a certain amount of weeks before you start mat pay, but I can't remember how many exactly.

peachgreen · 21/08/2017 17:36

I like the Tutti one as well but I worry about the half-folded side as isn't that why the BedNest was recalled? Or are they different? I hope so as I'd really like the Tutti!

peachgreen · 21/08/2017 17:38

Oh I've just looked up the instructions which explains how to negate the risk. Yay! I've added it to my list to have a look at.

Icantthinkofastupidname · 21/08/2017 19:09

Thank you @maybe and @gem.

I guess I will probably go for whichever is cheapest at the time then! Can you remove the bassinet from the chicco? I like that you can do that with the snuzpod so we can move it about, but i found it is pretty heavy when I had a go at taking it off the base in mothercare

reetgood · 21/08/2017 19:35

@Decaffstilltastesweird it's through their website. Even with renting rather than owning it's about the same as buying a new crib and reusing for second baby (assuming you get a new mattress each time).

I'm not feeling baby stuff. There's that thing of feeling superstitious about getting too much stuff plus I'm sooo not ready! We have the entire house to recarpet, rooms to rejig, my maternity cover to source (I run a small business). Not freaking out, not freaking out...

Lovely family are all saying they want to help us with stuff though. Might get boyfriends brother to do crib hire, mil for buggy, parents for car seat. I'd usually ask for smaller stuff but they're all insisting that they want to put in some cash. We were planning on second hand and mil was shocked and appalled. First grandchild on both sides, they've waited a while ;)

Roseandbee · 21/08/2017 22:16

Maybebaby2 · 21/08/2017 22:52

klaw87 · 22/08/2017 07:49

Morning! I don't know if anyone is going to the baby show in London Olympia in October but I just found an offer code for £10.75 tickets - it's MFME in case anyone wants to book 😊

Seven0fNine · 22/08/2017 08:19

Morning all

We're not finding out until 20 week scan on 7th Setemver. Soooooo long to wait!!!!

Acquired a lot of baby stuff from my sister already so hoping everything is ok. Would love a bedside crib but they are expensive considering the time they'd be used for so not sure if I can justify it but think it would make things so much easier in the early days. Also love the sleepyhead things but again soooo expensive for something that won't be used for very long!

SJ1989 · 22/08/2017 08:26

My brother and sister in law had a next to me crib and baby just gradually wiggled his way into co sleeping and still is at 15 months they are having a nightmare getting him into a cot now so decided I'm going to stick with a Moses basket plus I've been given one anyway so saves an expense

Ruthcarr1990 · 22/08/2017 09:55

Having a real struggle walking today!!! Can see me on crutches or in a wheel chair!!!

Just been to collect my usual fragmin and hosp have changed me onto clexaine!! Panicking now tried to ring midwife. Phones off and no answer at hospital!!!

Xxx

Decaffstilltastesweird · 22/08/2017 10:19

Oh ruth that sounds awful Flowers. Sorry to hear you're so uncomfortable. I hope you can track someone down to sort out your medication.

SJ, thank you for reminding me about the sleepyhead! A few of my mum friends swear by them. Said they were their absolute best baby related buy! I wonder if it's safe to buy one second hand? Might email sleepyhead to find out.

MegRam · 22/08/2017 10:25

Oh @Ruthcarr1990 that sounds awful! Is it SPD/PGP? I have it and it's nowhere near as bad as yours by the sounds of it Sad Hang on in there and remember what an amazing home you're making for your baby xx

klaw87 · 22/08/2017 10:27

Oh @Ruthcarr1990 that really does sound horrendous! Hope you manage to sort things out xx

ForumUsername · 22/08/2017 10:43

@Ruthcarr1990 sorry you are so uncomfortable

I have been on the hunt for maternity jeans
I've bought and sent back about 20 pairs the past two weeks but think I've found ones!
I had thought I wanted over the bump as I hate the idea of jeans coming low slung!
I got ASOS maternity 'sculpt me' premium
They are under the bump but come up high at the back and are so soft and comfy!
So happy! As I live in skinny jeans and really couldn't see myself in anything else for another 6 months
I have been wearing my own jeans open with a hair tie but they keep falling down 😒

Will probably start looking for some easy wear dresses next

I know it's superficial that this is making me so happy today but I've been finding getting dressed in the morning so hard as my body is changing so much
Still want to keep a bit of me in the whole pregnancy thing ....

rememberpurpleronnie · 22/08/2017 10:57

@Ruthcarr1990- I am on clexane- 40mg injection once daily. Do you know why they've changed you? Just so you know there is a nationwide shortage of the 40mg syringes. They are coming back into stock now intermittently but I have been injecting twice with 20mg or getting 60mg and discarding a third before I inject. It's a pain in the backside, quite literally. Also feeling your pain re spd- the left side of my pelvis feels like it's crumbling Sad, the physio has told me to limit my activity levels which is difficult with a toddler!

SJ1989 · 22/08/2017 11:49

I got some maternity jeans from peacocks they had a few different pairs but I got over the bump and they are comfy

reetgood · 22/08/2017 12:05

I caved and got maternity jeans a couple of weeks ago, and a maternity bra (dd to gg and I'm 20 weeks, the fear of where this ends up). It's so nice to have jeans that fit! Tips are ok, it's the trousers I'm having issues with. Think I'm carrying fairly low. I got over the bump and am wondering whether I'll ever go back to normal ;)
