I don't know where my placenta is yet, 20wk scan not until a week on Friday :(. Still no feelings yet! Although at 16 weeks I started taking weekly bump photos and they do show a bit of progression, so that is helping me stay positive that there is still a baby in there growing away!

I don't know how anyone manages to keep fit during pregnancy. I'm getting out of breath and tired easily and on Saturday we did a 10mile walk and my pelvis was killing afterwards, only starting to feel normal again now.

peachgreen · 30/08/2017 10:34

Hello ladies, have been on holiday so off the thread for a while - what did I miss?!

We had our gender scan aaaaand... we still don't know! Baby was curled up in a tight ball and wouldn't budge, despite me drinking Coke / having a biscuit / going for a walk. We have a rescan on Sunday and if there's still no luck then hopefully they'll see at the anomaly scan. But baby was safe and well, waving his or her wee arm at us. It was very emotional and I wailed. Grin

peachgreen · 30/08/2017 10:35

@Icantthinkofastupidname I'm starting to get really breathless too (19+3) and also getting a really sore bump if I over-exert myself. 10 miles sounds great to me, you should be proud!

Owl1011 · 30/08/2017 11:21

@Icantthinkofastupidname wow I'd say you're doing pretty well if you can manage a 10 mile walk! Hope you're feeling better now though.

@peachgreen I'm 19+3 as well!

Still not feeling consistent movements yet, can't wait until baby kicks strong for DH to feel it as well. Anomaly scan a week today, taking my sister for support as DH is away on a pre planned trip!

ChocoMunchi · 30/08/2017 12:12

@Icantthinkofastupidname I don't know how anyone manages to keep fit either. Pre-pregnancy I practiced hot yoga twice a week and either ran or went to the gym 2/3 times a week. I felt so sore in my pelvis in the first trimester I couldn't do anything. Now in my 2nd trimester I would really like to do something but same as you feel breathless and so unfit just from going in a short walk!

I've booked on a antenatal yoga course starting this Saturday so hopefully I'll feel like I'm at least doing something for a few weeks.

10 miles is actually impressive, hope you're starting to feel better now.

WLMcI · 30/08/2017 16:33

@Icantthink, I have mild SPD and it doesn't do you any good to overdo it, I'm afraid, as the recovery takes so long! I'm doing yoga daily but only poses that don't stretch my pelvis too far (no goddess squats atm). I've had to cut my dog walks to 3 miles and only do them on days I don't work (I stand all day at work so it's one or the other). I've taken up swimming to compensate, which I do not enjoy and am terrified of getting kicked by some gung-ho lane swimmer. It keeps me from getting to out of shape but it means the dog gets fewer walkees now than he's used to :( If SPD (pelvic girdle pain) gets bad, there are treatments like a specialised physio, have a look at this very practical wee NHS page: www.nhs.uk/conditions/pregnancy-and-baby/pages/pelvic-pain-pregnant-spd.aspx

WLMcI · 30/08/2017 16:34

Mind, I did mention it to a MW and she was just like, yes, that happens, usually not in the first pregancy though. No referral, no advice, nothing. So you may have to be a bit assertive if you want a referral!

NovaArt3mis · 30/08/2017 17:44

I went to my GP for a physio referral today as my midwife is so difficult to get a hold of. Apparently the waiting time is quite long in my area. I second yoga tho.
