*not really sure

rememberpurpleronnie · 18/08/2017 12:11

@Owl1011 I know what you mean- I felt the same last time, bit more relaxed next time. I think you will start to relax when you are feeling a regular pattern of movement, as it's like a constant reassurance that baby is ok!

rememberpurpleronnie · 18/08/2017 12:11

*this time

Gemxo · 18/08/2017 12:13

She has also now marked my pregnancy as high risk because I suffer with anxeity/panic attacks!!

I have panic attacks every now and then so wouldn't really say I have anxiety and I have NEVER /suffered with depression so that's upset me that I'm now apparently high risk

rememberpurpleronnie · 18/08/2017 12:47

@Gemxo That's crazy, don't worry though, I was marked as high risk for a daft reason last time (my sister had breast cancer and I was awaiting genetic testing) , I saw the consultant who was a bit Confused and transferred me back to midwife care.

Gemxo · 18/08/2017 13:08

So what does it mean now that I'm 'high risk' I'm scared there gonna start treating me different, she made me feel like I am going to be at risk when the baby is here for PND.

It has me worrying now that they are gonna treat me like I won't cope with a baby! Because of a few panic attacks

Gemxo · 18/08/2017 13:31

I am marked as high risk but I am still with the same midwife? She didn't mention any changes, I'm just so confused by how this is now going to affect me

Waitingonasmile · 18/08/2017 13:44

Gemaxo if you are on a red pathway rather than green pathway now it just means consultant led. That doesn't even necessarily mean you'll see consultant much at all. I'm high risk and I've seen consultant once and won't see them again (apart from telephone consultation in Nov) until baby is due. Don't worry because it most likely won't change your care much.

They couldn't find my sons heartbeat during my last pregnancy at 16 weeks and it was horrible. I can see why they don't always check now, although I understand it's disappointing.

Gemxo · 18/08/2017 13:54

The midwife didn't even mention a consultant or booking me in with one? I feel like she has failed to tell me a lot of information or even explain the reason for the high risk, it was just kinda like 'your high risk now ok'

Waitingonasmile · 18/08/2017 14:04

That's annoying she didn't explain. You could either phone and speak to midwife and ask if you should expect consultant appointment or wait and see if a letter appears with an appointment.

rememberpurpleronnie · 18/08/2017 15:19

@Gemxo -do you think she meant higher risk for PND rather than a high risk pregnancy? I think that even the slightest hint of any MH history they will tick a box to say higher risk for PND. In reality that probably just means you'll be asked a few more questions at your 6 week check up after having the baby.

Decaffstilltastesweird · 18/08/2017 15:31

gemxo

I'm high risk/consultant led this pregnancy too, due to previous shoulder dystocia with my dd's birth. When they marked me as consultant led, they just had a big list of criteria. It seems that if you have one of those things, they mark you as high risk. From friends who have had consultant led pregnancies, I think it just means you meet with a consultant to discuss the pregnancy and especially the birth. That's what I'm expecting anyway.

SJ1989 · 18/08/2017 15:48

Baby girl!! All went well other than her standing on her head then being all scrunched up in a ball

Gemxo · 18/08/2017 15:52

She marked in my notes high risk, it doesn't mention PND near it so I don't think so Confused I will attach a pic one I'm home from work

Sybarite85 · 18/08/2017 16:05

V late joiner to the group if that's ok! I'm 18 weeks today first pregnancy, due date 19th Jan. Been delaying joining mumsnet etc out of silly superstition but figured I keep reading stuff on it anyway so may as well bite the bullet!

Scan coming up on 1st Sept at last, feels like forever since the 12 week one, esp as had the 16 week MW appointment 2 weeks early...

Icantthinkofastupidname · 18/08/2017 17:49

Not sure if it's too early for most people to be making big purchases, but just incase and if anyone hasn't seen it, discount codes on mamas and papas this weekend. Online only. Bigger discount the more you spend.

Hotpinkangel19 · 18/08/2017 19:12

I'm 19+6, and have really bad heartburn Confusedanyone else the same? Any suggestions? It's awful!!!

Waitingonasmile · 18/08/2017 19:18

Yesssssssssss!!!!!! My heartburn has been horrendous this week and I haven't bought Gaviscon yet. The liquid Gaviscon helped me with DS but I was going through a bottle every few days and drinking it during the night. I think best thing would be to go to GP if it's really bad as they can prescribe liquid stuff and there's also tablets to help.

ForumUsername · 18/08/2017 19:29

I've been getting bad heartburn too
It seems to give me awful pain across my back too

It seems drinking water makes mine worse?!!?! Really annoying as I'm always thirsty so I've been trying to sip regularly instead of gulping down loads at at time

Also have broken and taken gaviscon, 2 tablets take the edge off but doesn't help too much. Having DH rub my back makes me feel a little better

If it gets worse I'll be going to the doctor to get something better

Ruthcarr1990 · 18/08/2017 21:43

Purchased a v shape pillow from Aldi today!!! Best 5.99 I have EVER spent xxx

Seven0fNine · 19/08/2017 09:45

Oooh Ruth I was looking at those yesterday. Someone gave me a memory foam one but it's really hard. Might appreciate it more later on.

Gem sorry you didn't get to listen to the heartbeat. She did say they wouldn't let me have a scan if they couldn't hear it. I guess different areas have different policies on it. The rest of my 16 week appointment sounds pretty similar to yours and also not another until 25 weeks but then they start every 3 weeks. Hope you are ok xx

WLMcI · 19/08/2017 09:46

@Ruthcarr I ordered a sleeping pillow too, and can't wait to get it, although I didn't get such a good deal! But it has a thing to keep me from rolling onto my back, which I need (I keep waking up on my back because my hips feel like they're on fire when I lie on them too long).

@Gemxo I had a really rushed 16 week appointment. Urine, listen to heartbeat, maybe bp, and that's it. No questions, no information about the 20 week scan, no weight (they don't do the frequent weighing at all anymore so that is normal). It took less than 10 minutes for sure. My friend at work, who is only 2 weeks ahead of me, had a similar experience with hers (at a different site). But if I were you I would query that "high risk" category by ringing your MW to explain. I have had the odd bout with anxiety (and sorry, but if you've had panic attacks then you DO have issues with anxiety, it's nothing to be ashamed of but helpful to get on top of it). I was very open about it with the MW at booking in and it did not affect my category. X

Morning 😀
Last night I felt definite movement

It started off with sensations I'd felt before (I had been putting it down to uterus movements) but more pronounced

They were like flicks or pops inside below my belly button, not sore but definite something's again my insides if that makes sense?

Then I started to feel a rolling sensation, not like anything I've felt before. Think baby was dancing inside
It's so cool 😀
