Definitely starting to think what I'm feeling is kicks! I'm so excited and can't believe how quick we are all progressing. I love this chat - I was on a another and people got nasty telling them to go on a more experienced chat blah blah but there's no hate here only happiness for each other!

SJ1989 · 16/08/2017 08:31

Thats horrible we are all on a learning curve whether it's out first or 4th pregnancy as they are all different don't see why people would get nasty but your right this chat is great as it's all support and sharing which makes it so much easier when worrying about things!

Waitingonasmile · 16/08/2017 10:57

It's not even lunchtime and I've eaten a lot of cheesecake. Blush i did put strawberries on top so maybe that cancels out some of the badness.

Fredthefrog · 16/08/2017 11:10

Sounds like one of your five a day Wink

SJ1989 · 16/08/2017 11:14

That's a fix of dairy and fruit helping you get started on a balanced diet if you ask me

millsbynight · 16/08/2017 12:18

I'm going to a Mothercare expectant parents event tonight (taking advantage of the discounts and freebies!!).

Is it ok if I take DS (6) along or will he be bored out of his mind? If DS stays home then DH has to stay home and I'll feel a bit weird going on my own. Or do loads of women just go on their own?

Oh I'm so jealous! I can't eat sweets, cake (cheesecake is my fave!) because of my Gestational Diabetes!! Please enjoy a slice for me ladies Cake

klaw87 · 16/08/2017 18:40

Eek amazing scans ladies, I have mine next week. Felt definite kicks and rolling around last night 😍😍😍 feel so much better now!

Also.. mmmm cheesecake 😋

Rosehyd2 · 16/08/2017 19:08

Is anyone else still suffering from nausea every day? It's so frustrating and horrible Sad

Iamchanging · 16/08/2017 19:29

Me Rose! Had a little cry the other night as I am so fed up of it day in day out. Am still less weight than when I started and am so ready to start this fabled bloody glowing!! How many weeks are you? I'm 17 + 3

wapphighwood · 16/08/2017 20:18

I am still nauseous most days Sad 18 +1 now. Worst when tired which is all the time with a toddler who doesn't sleep through, working and a long commute. Basically I'm resorting to not having any evening and just going to bed, feeling quite depressed from so many weeks of feeling sick

Rosehyd2 · 16/08/2017 20:25

@iamchanging I'm 17+4 (due 20 Jan). Sorry to hear you're going through it as well. I want this glow too!

@wapphighwood I can't imagine having this with a toddler too (this is my first). I commute via train for an hour each way and it's proving tough!

I hadn't been sick for a couple weeks, it was all nausea, until yesterday 3 times in one day Sad

MegRam · 17/08/2017 07:49

Hi ladies, I'm 19+4 today and I still don't think I've felt any movement - at least nothing that I can definitely attribute to the baby.

Is anyone else in this boat? I'm starting to get a bit worried Confused xx

WLMcI · 17/08/2017 07:51

@rememberpurpleronnie Best of luck with your scan today! I was bricking it too before the "big scan"--I was actually shaking with anxiety, even though I had felt movement for at least the whole week beforehand and I know there's little risk of anything actually being wrong. I think it's perfectly normal to be nervous, especially if you've had something go wrong in the past, but remember the odds are ever in your favour! X

I'm feeling movement several times a day now, which is lovely Smile Going to take the plunge today and buy something for baby as I'm now 21 weeks! I just want to indulge myself a little. I've had bad pelvis pain recently; by the end of the workday it's sometimes so bad I can hardly walk. The MW just said it was hormones relaxing the whole area and sometimes the bones rub together (which is what it feels like), she didn't offer any advice or referrals, so I'm hoping it is a temporary thing. I've got a maternity swimsuit ordered so at least I can get some exercise, even if the dog is missing out on our usual walks!

WLMcI · 17/08/2017 07:56

@MegRam don't be too worried! Was your placenta marked as anterior or posterior on your 12 week scan sheet? Anterior placenta cushions the impact for a lot longer. Baby is still floating about with lots of room, so if it doesn't happen to kick directly at your lower abdomen towards the outside, you probably won't feel much for a while. At 20+4 I had my scan and I was watching baby bounce about like it was on a trampoline, waving and kicking and I wasn't feeling a thing! I had felt only sporadic movement at that point, usually only when lying down; now within just the last 2 days I'm feeling it frequently.

ElleMcElle · 17/08/2017 08:14

@MegRam - Yes, I was posting about this just the other day. 19 wks tomorrow and haven't felt any movement yet.

Victoriaaaaaaaa · 17/08/2017 09:37

i know @SJ1989 it really was.

Victoriaaaaaaaa · 17/08/2017 09:38

@millsbynight sorry for the late reply - take them both! i know you've only booked one person in but when i went to the meadowhall one people were taking families of 5 with them!!

MegRam · 17/08/2017 10:59

@WLMcI I've just looked at my notes and it doesn't say about placenta anywhere so I have no idea! You're right about floating around with lots of space though, so hopefully that's just the case.

@ElleMcElle I'm dying to feel some movement, especially after seeing everyone else's posts, so I hear you! x

Icantthinkofastupidname · 17/08/2017 11:09

My 12wk scan hasn't got anything on about placenta either. Unless it's in code and I've missed it.

Anyone else thought their 16wk appointment was totally pointless and would have been better off just with a quick phone call to save everyone's time? All they did was give me 2 leaflets, ask if I was OK and ask if scan went OK then sent me on my merry way with a pee pot for next time.

Owl1011 · 17/08/2017 11:12

@Icantthinkofastupidname I spent more time in the waiting room than I did at my 16 week appointment! I did get to listen to baby's heartbeat though which made it worthwhile

rememberpurpleronnie · 17/08/2017 11:19

@WLMcI Thanks for the reassurance! Will be glad when it's over. Regarding pelvic pain- I am seeing a physio for this- fairly mild SPD, but her advise has been to limit my exercise, so just a thought before you take the plunge literally with your swimming!

Will update you all with some, hopefully, very normal scan pictures later! Grin

Sophsta · 17/08/2017 13:02

My 16 week appointment they tested my urine, did blood pressure and carbon monoxide levels, heartbeat and talked through my blood type and what it meant. I found it quite useful for asking questions etc.

millsbynight · 17/08/2017 13:13

@Icantthinkofastupidname yes v pointless. Everything could have been done on the phone.

The Mothercare event was also pointless. 10% off everything... on that night only. I wasn't prepared and DH wasn't there so was too scared to spend money or buy anything with out him and being put on the spot.

Rosehyd2 · 17/08/2017 16:35

My 16 week appt was good and last about 35 mins. They did urine check, blood pressure, listened to my heart and babies heart, weighed me, checked over paperwork, booked my GTT test and ran through anything else I needed to know at that point. It feels ages ago though, I'm now 17+4.
