Re: maternity pay, you never have to pay back any of the SMP even if you don't go back to work at all, according to the information in the Pregnancy book. It is a government benefit simply paid through your employer and is based on the fact that you have worked previously, up to the required time to qualify, not on a promise to work in future. You might have a company policy that pays you above and beyond SMP, which might be affected if you go part time on returning to work.

@ElleMcElle my mothercare 10% off voucher was valid for just under a month

klc75 · 12/08/2017 08:19

Hi @Disinterested I have ordered this in the denim grey. Spent ages trying different ones out in a local stockist and this one was lovely. Someone who lives round the corner from me had it their daughter is now 2 they said it's been great. I like that you can lift the carrycot mattress as well so they can lie in the carrycot longer Smile

Decaffstilltastesweird · 12/08/2017 10:01

disinterested

I haven't used that one myself, but it looks nice and not ridiculously expensive.

My eBay Stokke fell through, (seller asked for more money after I'd already paid for it Angry). I've now spotted a brand new Stokke I really want, but I only like the newest model as it has some new features. Seems silly as we already have an old travel system from DD and we aren't planning any more dc after this one... hmmmmm.

Disinterested · 12/08/2017 10:41

Thanks so much ladies.

Do you know if the handles are adjustable to height? I think I'm going to get it in the denim blue rather than the sky blue :)

Decaffstilltastesweird · 12/08/2017 11:07

It says handles are adjustable, which I assume means height adjustable. Pretty cool that it comes with a foot muff too!

Maybe check out their returns policy and then you can check it out properly 'in person' before you fully commit to it.

klc75 · 12/08/2017 15:00

@Disinterested the handle moves up and down with a button on the side I'm 5ft 9 and was good at a higher height for me but my daughter lowered it and tried and was fine for her (she's 13)

klaw87 · 12/08/2017 18:08

Congratulations @Victoriaaaaaaaa !! Smile

Gemxo · 12/08/2017 18:20

Waitingonasmile · 12/08/2017 20:15

Is anyone else with a toddler getting a double buggy? DS will be 2 years 6 months when this baby comes and I feel like it won't be used for long. On the other hand, it might make life easier!

Decaffstilltastesweird · 12/08/2017 22:10

Congratulations ziggzagg!

@waitingonasmile, our DD will be 37 months or thereabouts when this one is born, so we aren't bothering with a double buggy. We're just going to get a buggy board for her to surf around on instead. I do however, really want a new single pushchair! It's a bit extravagant though seeing as we have one from DD. But it's pretty worn out now tbf.

Usernamegone · 12/08/2017 22:53

Gaviscon only providing relief for 5/10 minutes now before the burning lump in my throat returns? Is there anything else I should try or should I make a GP appointment! I'm only 18 weeks so am worrying my insides will burn away over the next 22 weeks!!!!

purpleoasis · 12/08/2017 22:55

Anyone trying for a vbac this time around?

Waitingonasmile · 13/08/2017 00:05

decaffstilltastesweird yeah I think I'll also get buggy board. Other possibility is sling I suppose for new baby and DS in buggy if he needs it. I also wanted a new single buggy but DH said it a waste of money. Angry

Usernamegone I think GP can give you tablets that help more. Ranitidine they are possibly called. *

Purpleoasis* I'm still undecided about vbac or elective. Consultant said they would prefer I only went a few days over due date and wouldn't induce. I was never in labour with DS, so feel like there's very little chance of Vbac happening. Are you hoping for one?

purpleoasis · 13/08/2017 07:30

@Waitingonasmile I've just spoken with consultant as well and she seemed positive even though I never laboured either Confused I would love to try, she said they normally allow a few days over then they would induce?

Waitingonasmile · 13/08/2017 08:13

Purpleoasis it must vary in different hospitals/different doctors. I was told if I hadn't spontaneously laboured a few days after due date(which seems unlikely) it would be straight to section. I don't need to decide until November so at least there's a while to go.
