I haven't felt any movements yet :(

Gemxo · 09/08/2017 19:15

Today I'm abit worried, I have been having period type aches, no bleeding but my mind is doing overtime!!

Aches are in my lower back/top of bum, down my right leg (numb feeling) and sometimes in my lower abdomen. Please tell me I'm being stupid!

peachgreen · 09/08/2017 19:23

@Gemxo That sounds more like possible SPD to me than anything else - with the numbness. I'd give your midwife a call tomorrow just for reassurance.

Gemxo · 09/08/2017 19:52

I have a midwife app on the 18th do you think I'll be ok waiting until then?

ForumUsername · 09/08/2017 20:17

@MegRam I don't think I have either ☹️
I'm 16+4 on my first so I'm guessing it's normal not to feel anything but I'm getting impatient
Really can't wait to feel baby

I'm now 1 week free of nausea and don't think I'm as tired but still not running on full
Still have some aversions especially if I'm tired

Owl1011 · 09/08/2017 20:20

I'm feeling some weird little ticklish sensations and some very very mild bubbly feelings but can't be sure it's not wind Confused DH is convinced he can see my bump starting to grow now but I'm no sure convinced myself! 16+3 today

Disinterested · 09/08/2017 20:33

@Gemxo I would give her a call tomorrow if only to reassure yourself. I had similar and got myself worked up and it was growing pains!

Usernamegone · 09/08/2017 21:33

Gaviscon is now my best friend Grin

Still can't feel anything - come on baby tell me you are there Bear

Got my 20w scan in under 2 weeks now. It's scary to think I am almost half way through. I'm going to ask the sonographer where my placenta is a there is nothing written in my mat notes.

Also, forgot to mention my EDD had been moved from 6/1 to 9/1 so it can be uppadted the next time the list is

klaw87 · 09/08/2017 21:48

Popping back in! Have been reading every day but not had much to report - no more movement Sad (I think I may have imagined the first one..)

@Usernamegone you're due the same day as me! Smile

We've bought our pram which I had completely not intended on doing so early but it was such a good deal that we couldn't resist - going to try and calm down on buying stuff though.. gets addictive and as I'm on summer holidays I have a lot of time on my hands Confused

I'm also starting to look at nurseries for when I go back to work which feels completely insane but they have such long waiting lists!! Ahh help!

Bringmethechips · 09/08/2017 21:48

Thank you all for your reassurances! Typically this evening have felt lots of movements again, I'm guessing where I've been so busy at work and dealing with my ds it's easy to not notice the subtle little movements.
Am definitely feeling movements earlier with my 2nd so those who haven't felt anything yet, don't worry!

MissyJones80s · 10/08/2017 04:02

gemaxo I've been getting period like pains on and off since the start. Last time a week or so ago. I totally get why you freak out about it because it does just exactly feel like period coming on. As others have said just drop midwife a call if you are worried but it sounds normal to me. I also get back pain, twinges on and off...was quite uncomfortable in bed last night actually almost like how I'd expect sciatica to feel.

Aside from this I have been reading freaking about placenta previa, no idea how I came across it just a random Google click I think...it's not a good idea for me to Google as I'm a total hypochondriac but sometimes I just can't stop myself grrr Sad wish I could unread what I read now because can't stop thinking about it!!!!

I'm 16+1 now, not sure I've felt any movement either tbh I sometimes wonder if I have but can not tell the difference between that and normal gut sensations!!!

millsbynight · 10/08/2017 07:50

@klaw87 care to share where you got a great deal on your pram Grin? My lovely grandparents are buying ours but I feel guilty if they spend too much. Was looking around John Lewis the other day and they're like £900 for the top ones!!! 😟

I've been looking at nurseries too. My god they're expensive (in Zone 2 London). We've been encouraged to register our interest already as the wait lists are long. The nursery we absolutely love doesn't accept babies before 9 months but I'm planning to go back to work after 6 months so really don't know what to do.

With DS we had a nanny as ExP could afford it. I looked in to the cost of a nanny again... LOLOLOL nope. I'd be out of pocket every month. But if anyone's in London and can afford a nanny or maternity nurse I have loads of recommendations for agencies! Smile

WLMcI · 10/08/2017 08:25

@ndo4000 I was asked "if it was a surprise" by my husband's rather insensitive cousin, but almost everyone in the family knows about my previous MC in February as I've been very open about that so they know better. I replied to him "No, when you know how things work and you're a responsible adult, it's not much of a shock". I thought that was sarcastic enough to take the wind out of his sails without having to go through the MC story (I presume someone may have filled him in later on that anyway).

@Disinterested I'm not feeling overly frisky when I'm awake lol, but I HAVE been having plenty of sexy dreams (even including ones with my DH in them, what a shock!) Grin Make the most of it I'd say, as who knows when the next round of "don't touch me I'm all bloated and disgusting" will happen...

Waitingonasmile · 10/08/2017 08:30

Aww missyjones Google can be scary.

Millsbynight I just worked out figures for childcare and it's such a huge amount. We are in Scotland and cost per hour is actually pretty low, but we will have 2 in childcare for a good while. DS will get the free 15 hours before I go back to work so that'll help slightly. I think it'll still be £1000 every 4 weeks, or £255 a week.

Maybebaby2 · 10/08/2017 09:02

3 year olds are now entitled to 30 hours free childcare as long as one or other of their parents/carers are working 16 hours or more. Not sure how well known this is as it's quite new. The school I work in is offering it from September, I'm pretty sure private nurseries have to offer the same. Might be useful if anyone has a 3 or 4 year old and is worried about extra cost of childcare.

Waitingonasmile · 10/08/2017 09:20

I believe this is just in England and not Scotland. Although I know there were some trials of it here.

Maybebaby2 · 10/08/2017 09:35

Oh sorry I thought it was everywhere, they might start it in Scotland as well if they are having trials now.

klaw87 · 10/08/2017 09:40

@millsbynight it's ridiculous how expensive they can be isn't it!! we're going for this one https://m.johnlewis.com/icandy-strawberry-2-pushchair-with-chrome-chassis-carrycot-dune-flavour-pack/p/1799471
In fact it just got delivered! Eek!
We went and had a play around with a few and I narrowed it down to this and the silver cross, I couldn't get the silver cross cheaper anywhere at all but JL are selling this one as an old line so it's cheaper as they have brought out new colours etc. I love it as I can put it up and down with one hand and it's really light with a huge basket underneath Smile
Re- nurseries - have you looked at childminders for the first 6 months at all? Tend to be cheaper than a nanny etc (i think?!) and there will usually be some that takes on younger babies, I'm really surprised the nurseries don't take younger than 9 months - how frustrating!

wapphighwood · 10/08/2017 09:54

There are limits to the 30 hours, nurseries don't have to offer 30, ours for dc1 is sticking to 15 only, and the pre school she is moving to doesn't offer any. Also if one working parent earns over 100k you only get 15 hours.

Just had my 17 week midwife appointment. Managed to hear heart beatGrinbut told not to let kiss my toddler on the lips or cheek, or share their food, because of some virus!

Emzwell · 10/08/2017 10:36

aww @wapphighwood sounds like u had a really good appt, i was just going to post on here what happened at others 16 week appt? I just had my 17 week this morning... and literally went in, gave my partners name and tel number, didn't check wee, weight, heartbeat, measured belly, i just had blood pressure checked and thats it... not being seen again until 28 weeks :/ even though i keep raising concerns over heart palpitations, ive been dropped from a consultant for them - that i never even saw? feeling slightly miffed x

SJ1989 · 10/08/2017 10:58

I had wee and blood pressure checked and a feel of funny to make sure uterus 8s sitting where it should be but didn't get to listen to heart beat being seen again at 25 weeks but got a consultant before then anyway

Victoriaaaaaaaa · 10/08/2017 11:03

Absolutely obsessed with Morrisons nice biscuits at the moment!

Briggs18 · 10/08/2017 11:08

Hi everyone just to let you's all know I'm having a BOY! So happy 19 weeks on Tuesday and I feel huge!

SJ1989 · 10/08/2017 11:16

Congrats @briggs18 I find out a week tomorrow and can't wait

MissyJones80s · 10/08/2017 11:22

Emzwell just had my 16 wk appointment and was hoping they would listen for heartbeat but disappointed to find out that will be at next one which isn't until start of October!!! I did however have my blood pressure and urine tested. Also managed to get referral to physio because back still on and off playing up so that was a positive. No weight, measuring of bump or foof check but wasn't expecting that this time...maybe weight I guess.
Nothing now until 20 wk scan at start of September...tempted to get a private scan in mean time but knowing me I probably won't get round to it until it's nearly time for 20 wk scan!
