I have to say I'm really excited to find out the gender too. I think when you've had a MC it can be hard to bond with your bump and for me, knowing the gender will help. I don't really mind which it is but we're both convinced it's a girl (which is weird as we were equally convinced the one we lost was a boy). So who knows?!

@peachgreen I know exactly what you mean! After having 2 miscarriages I haven't fully let myself get excited for this pregnancy.

Each day though that passes I do get more excited, it all kinda doesn't seem real yet but when we know if it's 'he' or 'she' I'm sure it will hit me!

I'm sorry for your friend SJ. I've had two miscarriages & it's really hard to go through but better if you have good support around you. She's lucky to have a good friend like you.

My most recent miscarriage was in January at 10 so my baby should have been born last month. It's bittersweet because I'm pregnant with a little girl now so that keeps me going. I'm slowly starting to let myself enjoy my pregnancy now.

Just started to think about what on earth I'm going to do when baby actually arrives! Wondering if any of you have been recommended a good baby book? I'd like to avoid anything that advocates a specific style of parenting - I'm keen to read a fairly basic beginners guide to start with. Any ideas...? Thanks!

@Owl1011 I bought a dreamgenii at the weekend and I love it, it really supports my back. Mothercare had 10% off approximately online, but not in store. I mentioned it in store and they gave me the discount there.

Does anyone else suffer from restless legs during pregnancy?? I had it with DS during 3rd tri, but it's already started this time. I hate it so much .

@Rosehyd2 thank you for the tip, I'm thinking of getting one soon as keep rolling onto my back during the night and don't want to do that when bump gets bigger!

I too feel difficult to get too excited after having an mc in January, just so much anxiety which I'm really finding hard to overcome. We've told close family and close friends as well as one or two necessary colleagues but not planning to tell anyone else until after the 20 weeks scan so have to wait until 6th September! Also I've hardly got a bump yet but have gained weight on my hips and bum already!!

Same here @Owl1011 ! Still not obviously pregnant at 19+3 but my hips and arse have grown massively think my arse is bigger than my bump

@klc75 @ziggzagg my 2 Dds are 7 & 10 so I have a bigger age gap too!!

@ndo4000 Not really because I'm only recently married so I think people expected it! Do have people commenting about how DD will cope "being the only child for so long" I'm a bit she's really excited!!

It's funny how people presume to know more about your situation than you do!!!! Have been trying to think up a cutting response, but failed thus far. Must try harder.

The other question is 'are you hoping for a boy'. Erm.... no.... just a healthy baby... sigh.....

Yes @ndo4000 I have found loads of people have asked that! One even stopped my mum and said they were really sorry as obviously baby was not planned and how was I!!! When my mum said yes it was most definitely planned their response was "but when the child is 20 she will be 62" some people are just ignorant... I only remarried last year so was surprised to be asked this loads @ziggzagg

Has anybody else had movements which have then stopped?
A few days ago I felt quite a few gentle kicks and rolls throughout the day but yesterday and today have felt nothing.
I'm 18 weeks today so I assume it's still small enough to hide in a funny position.
Don't know if I should be concerned?

I've had days where I've felt a few movements but then days of feeling nothing form what I've read it's normal at this stage but will become more regular and consistent

Bringmethechips I do have an anterior placenta so not sure what yours is? But I can go a few days without feeling movements.

@ndo4000 and @klc75 I can't believe people have actually asked that! No one has asked me if this one was planned but I'd be shocked and speechless if I was... none of your fucking business whether it was or wasn't! Will be loved the same amount regardless. But yes very much planned!

@Bringmethechips I'm like @Waitingonasmile where I have an anterior placenta so hit and miss at this stage depending where baby is. I'll sometimes gets tickles and small kicks in the evening and then go 2 days with nothing!

Bringmethechips yeah I'm experiencing the same had quite a bit of movement for couple of weeks an then hardly anything for last 3 days. But I've been very busy so I think I might have been too active to feel anything, I've also been very focused on what I'm doing so haven't really been thinking about baby. Whereas before I was consciously aware and waiting for those tiny movements all the time, I was focused on that feeling if that makes sense. When baby gets bigger I guess movements will be big enough to feel no matter what I'm doing.

waitingon yeah I get restless legs, I got them before I was pregnant if I was overly tired, now I'm getting them pretty much every night. It's becoming a bit of a running joke because when I start jigging my legs around I know I need to go to bed, my legs are telling me its bed time which dh find hilarious. Not quite as funny for me! 😂
