@forumusername Me too, I was 16 weeks on Saturday and definitely have a round neat bump now. I took a picture at 15 weeks and the difference is amazing.

Ruthcarr1990 · 07/08/2017 09:21

After going to mw last week and her advising due to pgp to get a support belt I'm rocking this sexy thing!! Who said pregnancy wasn't sexy hey!! Xxx

Re: heartburn, yes you can take Rennie and Gaviscon (at recommended doses). For general indigestion, a pack of Refreshers will also do in a pinch!

@MrsCorr that's so funny, my (girl) cousin's name is Avaree! They just changed the spelling to make it more girly, but to me it is absolutely a name for either gender. Smile

@Rosehyde Thanks! I think I'll corral the mw when I have my bloods taken again on the 15th (to check antibody levels as I had the anti-D at 14 weeks), and I'll get her to give me a phone number or to make the GTT appointment herself. I don't even know if it's done at the new health centre or the hospital anyway!

@Ruth that support belt would go perfectly with my compression socks! Lucky lucky husbands Grin

Isabeau1980 · 07/08/2017 11:29

usernamegone I found the liquid Gaviscon worked the best for me. I was guzzling it like nothing on Earth in my third trimester last time.

It has started earlier this pregnancy. Everything is different this pregnancy.

millsbynight · 07/08/2017 11:55

chocchip what's your Jan EDD? I'll update the list soon.

ruth beautiful round bump!

I'm still quite small and not obviously pregnant to strangers at all :( I think my bump is starting to grow but I'm scared there's something wrong with baby. 2 weeks till next scan!!

Owl1011 · 07/08/2017 15:45

Apologies if this has already been discussed on this thread but does anyone have a pregnancy/maternity pillow and how do they find it, or can anyone recommend a good one?

I've seen the dream genie and theraline ones but not sure which to get?! I like the idea that you can use it for nursing afterwards as well

Decaffstilltastesweird · 07/08/2017 15:51

Owl

I had a dream genie last time, so will have to dig that out some time soon. Tbh it wasn't the miracle for me that some people seem to find it. I think it did help though and I used it every night in my last trimester. I was still uncomfortable with it, but I think I was going to be uncomfortable by then regardless!

thingymaboob · 07/08/2017 16:46

The theraline is amazing!!

Hotpinkangel19 · 07/08/2017 19:25

I have to have a GTT test in September Confused basically because I'm fat (BMI 35) I put 2 stone on in 2 months when my mum was dying, just wasn't eating properly/wrong things so am in a bit of a mess with my weight ☹️

Owl1011 · 07/08/2017 19:43

Thank you decaf that's good to know! Might hold off until I really need it!

Maternity clothes have arrived and are very comfy, they going in the drawer until absolutely essential as my jeans still fit at the moment!

Decaffstilltastesweird · 07/08/2017 19:56

Oh I'm sorry to hear about your mum hotpink. I lost my mum too, shortly before I fell pregnant with DC1. Flowers for you.

Is a GTT the one for GD? I had a GD test (along with a few other things) in my last pregnancy. That was because I kept telling the doctor I must be sick as I just didn't "feel normal". Eventually, he said I was just pregnant Blush.

I'm wearing mainly maternity stuff now as even my size up jeans are too tight (could be down to too much snacking though Blush). I've just ordered some maternity dungarees from JoJo as I can't seem to find any maternity jeans which don't fall down! Size down and they roll down. In my usual size they fall off Angry.

Usernamegone · 07/08/2017 21:27

Will nip to Tesco tomorrow to pick up my maternity tankini and some gaviscon. I have been OK today (touches wood)

Has anyone felt their baby yet. People keep asking me but I haven't felt anything yet 😕

MummyM33 · 07/08/2017 21:37

@Usernamegone no I still haven't yet either, I know how you feel as it's starting to get me down as everyone keeps asking. At my last scan they said I had an anterior placenta so it may take longer to feel the kicks.
Is everyone still taking vitamins? I took them every day until 12 weeks but just realised I hadn't taken one for a few days, do you think that's ok? I've been taking the seven seas multi vitamins for through out pregnancy x

MummyM33 · 07/08/2017 21:38

Forgot to add I'm 19 weeks now x

thingymaboob · 07/08/2017 22:32

@MummyM33 I bloody hope it's ok not to take everyday. I think I've only taken 40% of the time due to severe sickness. Just remember, women didn't use to take them. Many don't and have healthy babies

MrsCorr · 07/08/2017 23:17

I've felt the odd flutter but i was around 23 weeks before I felt anything last time. I'm 18 weeks now so expecting to feel plenty of kicks soon. Once they start they don't stop so I'm just trying to enjoy this bit haha.
I think you only need to take the folic acid up to 12 weeks. I was still taking them & my pregnancy vitamin up to now but I stopped this week because I ran out & don't see the point in buying more.

Gemxo · 07/08/2017 23:19

Anyone else getting really impatient waiting to find out the sex!?!? BlushGrin

I just can't wait!! Excitement mixed with nerves!

Still another 12 days to wait Ahhh!!

My DP already has a beautiful boy, my DSS he is 3 years old, 4 in September and I have been in his life since he was 1 so we have a great loving relationship, he really wants a baby brother but I'm the opposite and hoping for a little girl (my sister had her baby girl 2 months ago so it would be so lovely for 2 baby girls same sort of age!), I really want a girl for my DP aswell, I think he would be smitten!!

I just can't shake the feeling of it being a boy though!! Don't get me wrong I will be absolutely over the moon either way as I would love to see the bond of 2 brothers aswell and how close they would be! But we all secretly want one or the other don't we WinkSmile

Decaffstilltastesweird · 08/08/2017 07:24

I'm very impatient to find out too Gem! We have a DD and I think DH would (secretly) love a little boy. I can see the benefits of having two of the same sex though. Fewer clothes to buy for a start Grin. So I don't really have a preference. I'm damned impatient to find out though, if we possibly can at private scan.

We didn't find out last time and my impatience drove me bonkers! It was a lovely surprise for DH when she was born. but I couldn't really enjoy it having just been through a tricky labour.

That's why this time I've insisted on finding out.

Other women I know have loved the surprise though - think it's just me who honestly didn't care by that stage. I was just happy to have a healthy baby, as it was a bit touch and go at points. Will be lovely to hopefully find out the sex in a calmer situation this time and properly enjoy it.

SJ1989 · 08/08/2017 07:32

The midwife told me to keep taking my vitamins as although most of the need for folic acid is done by 12 weeks you still need the others, so said she would still say to take it, I told her I had gone a few days without taking it an she wasn't concerned just said to try an get some more

Seven0fNine · 08/08/2017 08:04

Oh man I'd love some dungarees!!! Still managing to hold my normal jeans up with a hair bobble.

Had my 16 week midwife appointment yesterday and all was good and got to listen to heartbeat. Could also hear the baby swooshing around in there. Clearly an active one as wouldn't stop moving on the scan either. Deffo doesn't take after me!!!

I asked about vitamins as I'm just on vit D now after finishing the folic acid at 12 weeks. She said that was fine and to continue right through as its good for breast feeding. I think it's just personal preference whether you take anything else and how varied your diet is.

Decaffstilltastesweird · 08/08/2017 08:36

seven

These are the dungarees I've ordered. I saw them on a mannequin in store and they looked nice but they didn't have any to try on, so I'll have to wait to see what they're like.

SJ1989 · 08/08/2017 09:49

My partners friend has been taken into hospital with a miscarriage at around 12 weeks and she's asked us to go an see her obviously we are doing but I feel awful going seeing her while pregnant and bump is very obvious! She's had 2 miscarriages in the past 6 months so it's going to hit her even harder :( never thought I'd feel guilty for being pregnant!

Decaffstilltastesweird · 08/08/2017 10:07

Oh SJ. That's really tough. Poor woman and her partner Sad. I don't think she'd have asked you to go and see her though, knowing you're pregnant, unless she thought she'd be ok with it.

SJ1989 · 08/08/2017 10:34

True we did offer for my partner to go alone if she wanted but she said for me to go too, she's split with the babies dad too luckily she already has an amazing little girl so hopefully that will keep her going strong
