Congratulations everyone on their boy/girl news
We're not finding out but secretly hoping we accidentally do

We still have only managed to rule names out
Have none that we both really like

ChocChipCookie2 · 06/08/2017 07:37

Hi, hope it's not too late to join the group. I've just had my 12 week scan and they've moved me forward to January. Do you have a Facebook group?

hanna87 · 06/08/2017 08:46

Hello @ChocChipCookie2 ! How are you finding things?

Congratulations all on the boy / girl bits of news! Still thinking to not find out.. though we are going to get sonographer to write it down in an envelope and post it to grandparents who will buy baby's coming home clothes in the correct colour!

Decaffstilltastesweird · 06/08/2017 09:28

Hi chocchip! I had my dates moved forward a little bit too, (only by a day though). Was yours a big change? We had a bigger change with our DD (moved forward four days).

ChocChipCookie2 · 06/08/2017 09:55

Hi, thanks for the welcome.

My dates just moved a week so not too much of a shock. I'm consultant led and likely to be having an elective section earlier anyway (hopefully not to early). In my last pregnancy I got preeclampsia at 35 weeks and had an emergency section at 36 weeks.

Congratulations to all those of you who have had gender scans. We've got ours booked in three weeks I can't wait to find out what we're having.

ChocChipCookie2 · 06/08/2017 09:57

Hanna, that such a lovely and special thing for your grandparents to do. I'm far to impatient though and couldn't cope with them knowing and not me.

MrsCorr · 06/08/2017 10:35

Hi ChocChip, congratulations! I'm have a planned c section this time around too. I had an emergency c section with my son due to his heart rate dipping during contractions (after a 30 hour labour). I can try again for a natural birth but I can think of nothing worse than going through all that again & still having an EMCS. How are you feeling about the planned c section? My due date is January 8th so I might be having a new year baby or might even be a December baby but I feel like I fit in better here lol.

Serendipper · 06/08/2017 18:09

Anyone else had rude uncalled for comments yet? I've just been told I'm carrying all my weight in the back by my own nan (who isn't that old or senile to explain it) when I asked her what she means she said "you've gained all your weight on your bum, you barely have a bump"
So far I've lost over a stone due to continued sickness and worried myself about it. I am smaller everywhere except for this small podge on my tummy. I have no idea what she thought she was going to gain from that comment! I left in tears and now I'm hurtful for overreacting and I need to consider if my emotions are normal! Angry

Roseandbee · 06/08/2017 18:14

Thanks for the well wishes. When did everyone start to feel better? And is anyone still suffering?

Hannah that's a nice idea although it might be tricky for your grandparents to not slip up with saying s/he. You should prob wait as long as poss before you send it them. Although then again ud need a will of steel not to peak in that time!

Owl1011 · 06/08/2017 18:39

Aww these gender reveals are so lovely, congratulations to everyone who has found out what they're having! Smile

Had a private scan today at 16 weeks just for reassurance (bloody anxiety driving me crazy) and was sooo tempted to ask about gender but DH is adamant he doesn't want to know! Good see to see little one wiggling about though and bump has finally started to show itself...albeit very very slightly!

ChocChipCookie2 · 06/08/2017 19:12

Mrs Correct, your previous birth sounds horrific. I recovered well from the section last time so I hoping this time it will be the same.

Serendipper, that was just rude of your nan and if she had said it to me I would have been really upset too. Is she normally rude or does she think the pregnancy gives her the right to be rude?

ziggzagg · 06/08/2017 19:49

Hi all I'm due 2nd Jan!! Just had a Glucose Tolerance Test last week and they've called me into the Diabetes clinic Sad

2nd baby but much more tiring than DD ever was!! Although I am 11 years older!!

On the bright side, finding out what sex baby is on Friday so looking forward to that!Grin

Rosehyd2 · 06/08/2017 20:20

@ziggzagg Does calling you in mean there's some concerns? Hopefully nothing too serious. I've been advised I need to have a GTT test in October because my bmi is over by 0.5 making me classed as 'obese'.(I'm a size 12 with G cup boobs, I blame the boobs!!)

Hope the sex reveal goes well. We aren't finding out but I love hearing how everybody else's is going.

ziggzagg · 06/08/2017 20:23

@Rosehyd2 I think I may have gestational diabetes as the nurse taking my blood told me that if all was normal I wouldn't hear from them. To be fair I am very overweight was in the middle of a huge healthy lifestyle overhaul as we were going to try in January but baby had other plans!!

Waitingonasmile · 06/08/2017 20:36

I was very similar to you chocchipcookie2. I got pre eclampsia around 33 weeks and had emcs at 35 weeks. Saw consultant and she said they only let you go a few days over due date to try for vbac so don't think there's much chance of that happening.

Mrscorr My due date is 8th and they said elective would be around the 5th. Definitely after new year anyway.

Waitingonasmile · 06/08/2017 20:41

I mean vbac prob won't happen for me chocchipcookie not you btw

Mrscorr my due date is 9th no idea why I wrote 8th lol

WLMcI · 06/08/2017 20:49

@MissyJones I'm in the fanny daggers club! Jesus H. Christ yesterday was hard to keep standing and talking and smiling at people all day when thinking "ah, ow, OW, gah!" It seems to happen, along with stretching pains in my hips, just before a bit of a growth spurt so I think that's what's going on.

@MrsCorr what about Ada (said Ay-da) or Adeline, which is not much used over here? Pronounced "line" not "lean" at the end perhaps? It's a family name in my SIL's family (she is American, like me). Adeline Corr sounds classy and nice for an adult to me (and the shortened version is Addie, which is cute when she's small). There's also only 1 way to spell it...take it from someone who has to spell her last name and have it remarked upon every.single.time that it gets old fast and I'm grateful for an easily-spelled first name!

Gosh, there's a lot of Roses! It's always been our only real choice for girl's middle name as it is my MIL's name and we really wanted to do that for her, but suddenly everyone I know has a kid named Something Rose (or Something-Rose used together as a first name). I know people rarely use their middle name anyway, and we only plan to really call her by her first name, so we'll probably still do it if we do have a girl. Worth it to see MIL tear up Grin

WLMcI · 06/08/2017 20:54

Oh and I have to have a GTT despite my low BMI simply because my dad had type 2 diabetes...this seems overkill to me but whatever. Question, did you have to ring to make the appointment for the test, or did you get a letter with an appointment? I'm dealing with 3 different agencies here (hospital with EPU and delivery, regional health centre for scans and GRFB classes/antenatal appointments, and GP treatment nurse for jabs etc. and bizarrely another community midwife who has got involved to take my bloods). And no one tells you how anything happens, so I never know whether I'm waiting for a letter or have to book something a month in advance, and then they treat me like an idiot for not knowing!

Rosehyd2 · 06/08/2017 20:57

@WLMcl At my 16 week midwife appointment my midwife said all I had to do was phone a number and book in on week X for the GTT. Then seconds later she picked up the phone, spoke to the unit, and booked it for me. It's in October which is ages away though, think it's like week 24/25 for me.

AmandaP86x · 06/08/2017 20:58

Hi girls

Aww congrats on all the gender scans! Lovely news!!!

Some lovely bumps too!! 🤗

I love some of ur names ! I like Cooper, finlay & Theo for boys and Harper Madison & Eva for girls. My mum passed away 4 years ago so going to us Kathleen a middle name ❤️❤️

Usernamegone · 06/08/2017 21:09

I've just been struck with heartburn out of the blue feels like lim going to be sick with a hot burning lump in my throat 😩

Need to go and get some Rennie's in the morning. I presume I can take these?

MrsCorr · 06/08/2017 21:17

I seen a consultant a few weeks ago & asked him would it be a 2018 baby & he said it could possibly be the last few days of 2017 depending on how I'm coping towards the end & how many planned sections they have scheduled. I just want a nice Xmas & after that I don't really mind.

WLMmc, that's so strange you suggested that! I've been playing around with Adelaide/Addison because I love Addie as a nickname. I've started a short list. What do you ladies think of Avery? I like it but not sure if it's more for boys or girls.

Iamchanging · 06/08/2017 22:09

I'm another one who has to have the GTT test because I have polycystic ovaries and apparently it's standard?!! Also seems like overkill but hey if that's what it takes then fine... Still struggling with sickness but went to look at Parma today which cheered me up - love the Joolz Day 2 at the moment

ForumUsername · 06/08/2017 22:10

I was 16 weeks yesterday and woke up this morning with a proper looking bump
I've been at a family event and everyone is saying I'm showing when yesterday everyone said I didn't!!

I'm also getting sharp twinges
Muscle stretching I think but they are enough to make me grimace

This is the 4th day I'm not queasy so fingers crossed I'm out of it
I am still tired but I think a little improved

AmandaP86x · 06/08/2017 22:46

@ForumUsername I feel the same my bump has defo changed
