@LinzLinz Congrats to you too! Yes, first baby and it's still not quite feeling real! I've just hit the 5 week mark and luckily haven't really had any morning sickness so far... just a bit queasy when I first get up but fine as soon as I've eaten. Bit bloated as well... I've put on over a kilo in one week which I'm hoping is just water retention as I haven't eaten any differently! You?

LinzLinz · 02/08/2017 12:56

It's a weird feeling isn't it, knowing what's going on in there! I'm 4 weeks today going off the first day of my last period, and so far so good! Just sore boobs, no worse that what I get every month though, and like you a little bit of bloating. I came off the pill in May so it's happened really quick for us, so I've been through every emotion I think, of elated, scared to death, oh my god, can't wait, when will I see my bump right back round to being in shock again! It's great having this group to share feelings with!

Babydreaming · 02/08/2017 13:06

Hello to the newbies!! Crispy I think you definitely win on the pregnant with small baby front! Mine is 7 months and I'm already panicking about how I'll cope. We will get through it...somehow! What are all those on mat leave already doing about work?

Suziesome1 · 02/08/2017 14:40

I'm not finished yet! Lol 😂 go back on Monday.... Being pregnant again isgoing to go down a treat, I've been off since last June!

Parney · 02/08/2017 14:58

I go back next month. Will take early mat leave this time, around Christmas because I'll be due back in September either way! I'm a teacher and summer would count if I started my leave in March. We get six months so I can take Jan-June as mat leave and summer will follow, that was my leave this maternity too but DS was born in December!

Suziesome1 · 02/08/2017 15:25

Nice, I don't think I'll be far behind you, I'll probably take the year again, and will take 2018-19 annular leave before and also what's left of this year plus say 2weeks mat leave so maybe January? I'm basically going back 5 months before off for another 14ish...

crispydumpling · 02/08/2017 16:11

Glad I'm not the only one panicking @babydreaming - I'm terrified! And I feel sad for my baby, he's never going to remember being the baby of the family and he's so lovely and easy going - I worry that I've ruined him 😕

crispydumpling · 02/08/2017 16:12

Oh and I'm planning on going back to work a bit earlier than originally planned but I was considering doing that anyway because I've been bored out of my mind 🙈 Much as I love my children I could never be a SAHM!

Babydreaming · 02/08/2017 16:19

Crispy I know what you mean about worrying about your baby! I'm also worried I won't be able to give him enough attention which he will need as also still a baby!

Haha mat leave is a mix of boring, stressful and amazing for me.

I'm currently in between jobs. I left my old job a few months ago and was planning to apply for another one to start next year! This is why getting pregnant isn't ideal for me :( We were planning to wait til I got a new job so would get maternity pay! My husband has been amazing though and thankfully has a job that can support us all!

RU486 · 02/08/2017 18:02

Hello everyone! Thank you so much for all your lovely supportive messages over past couple of days.
Am feeling a bit more positive today, spotting has stayed away all day. mw appt was just the usual bits and bobs at a first appt ie bloods and height / weight check. My actual booking appt is the 18th august and no scan til 12 weeks unless I go to epu. Hope everyone else is ok. @ruth how are you? X

Thelostsock · 02/08/2017 20:26

@RU486 that's great news. I hope everything carries on boringly normally for you!

itsascottishbaby · 02/08/2017 21:57

@Mimilicious013 Yes I have DS who's nearly 1. It's terrifying and I feel guilty and a bit sad for him but we wanted two close together, so I know it will be fine. Plus I'm no spring chicken so I don't feel like I would have the luxury to wait much longer...

Hello to the newbies and @RU486 that's excellent news!

thecraftyfox · 02/08/2017 22:17

Glad things are looking brighter RU4? (Odd name on a thread full of pregnant women!)

I'm starting to feel queasy although no being sick yet. I had hyperemesis until 27 weeks with DD and I'm dreading the same happening. It started at about 7 weeks last time ao fingers crossed I will escape this time round, I've puked enough!

Ruthisnice · 02/08/2017 23:08

Thanks to everyone who asked how I am today. I've had a super busy day at work and I've been feeling really queasy and sick so that's good. I've got my early scan tomorrow so will update you all afterwards.

Glad your spotting has cleared up RU and your midwife appointment went well. Keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Welcome to all the newbies too Smile Hope all your babies are sticky ones!

Merowdiff · 02/08/2017 23:55

Hello everyone! RU and Ruth - glad you are both getting on ok. *Linz my first baby too - your posts sound like my current train of thought!
Got booking in on 24th. All getting quite real now...
I feel like I'm having the longest pre-period cramps but in the entirety of my torso. I feel like I've eaten to excess when I really haven't, although I am feeling generally hungrier. My OH has told me my boobs and general body shape looks like it's changed, which with the bloating I agree with! Hope everyone is doing ok Smile

RU486 · 03/08/2017 05:11

Hi Crafty, my username is a song title by a band called stone sour. Had no idea there was any other meaning behind it BlushShock am tempted to nc now

Stonesourfangirl · 03/08/2017 05:19

Hello everyone! Have now nc, was previously ru486. Sorry if my name caused offensive, I literally had no idea Blush

Babydreaming · 03/08/2017 06:25

I did another clear blue test with first morning urine again and it still says 2-3 weeks when I should now be 5w3d. :( Trying not to panic but it is making me paranoid and I know I'm now going to pay for another! At least it hasn't gone down I guess?!

MrsDneedsaB · 03/08/2017 06:36

@Babydreaming don't go by the clear blue date indicator, it's massively unreliable! Will cause unnecessary worry all because the dates didn't change when you thought they should. Until you feel cramps and are heavily bleeding, it ain't over!

Parney · 03/08/2017 08:19

@babydreaming wouldn't that result still be accurate? Conceiving 2-3 weeks ago would put you at 4-5 weeks pregnant and you're still 5. Try not to place much emphasis on it anyway!

Babydreaming · 03/08/2017 08:27

Thanks girls! Will try not to panic. I think it doesn't help that I don't feel that pregnant, but I didn't last time either!

Babydreaming · 03/08/2017 08:28

Is anyone else having trouble sleeping? I woke at 3am feeling wide awake! Took me ages to get back to sleep! This happened to me last time too. I don't know if it's a pregnancy symptom or just due to the stress of finding out I'm pregnant!!

LinzLinz · 03/08/2017 08:31

Hi @Babydreaming I was just about to ask the same thing, I woke up about 7 times last night literally wide awake! I'm not even tired today after such a bad night sleep, I feel like I've had about 10 cups of coffee! (I haven't!) but I've got that sort of alert feeling!

Sam91TRS15 · 03/08/2017 08:54

Hi baby, i wouldn't stress to much about the weeks indicator - my lines were so faint with DD and this pregnancy at the day of missed period whereas with last pregnancy which ended in MMC I had the darkest line even before the control line came up. I'm sure it wouldn't have shown 3+ weeks even though I wasnt. I'm sure the hcg levels had nothing to do with the MC, but it just shows hcg levels differ even with the same person! The tests will be standard average hcg levels, so it isn't accurate to you as an individual! Maybe try the cheap pink tests a few times to confirm the colour is deepening? Sleepwise, it's hard for me to say, my 2yo still gets up regularly at night (so makes sense to have another now if I'm not getting sleep anyways haha!), but the past couple days the baby brain fog has definitely lifted and I actually feel like I have my energy back! Though felt pretty nauseous this morning (but still feel like it could all be in my head....) Ruth good luck today at your scan. And stonesour i would never had known about your username until i googled it, just unfortunate, i dont think anyone would have thought you meant any harm by it X

PoppySeed2017 · 03/08/2017 08:54

@babydreaming - I think that your result tallies up - it means 4-5 weeks when you add on that 2 weeks and that's bang on. Can totally understand, it's so easy to worry about but I really think that it's showing the right result xx
