Anyone else?

I live in London and am dreading when the nausea starts and commuting in @jenster17! I think if you feel like you need a badge then you should get one. Hopefully no one would be rude enough to question you. Only risk is bumping into someone you know/someone from work if you haven't announced it yet.

MissYeti · 21/08/2017 12:01

Well that was short xD literally date of lmp, blood pressure and a booklet telling me what will happen week by week. Not worth the effort really

beckh86 · 21/08/2017 12:28

I'm feeling sick but also ferociously hungry - not a good combo! I smelt someone had chicken for lunch and basically ran out to get some for me!

batfish · 21/08/2017 12:44

Finch82 what you said is really interesting (about boobs) - sore boobs was my only symptom during my first pregnancy - they were agony from a week before my period was even due.

But nothing at all this time. So that would make sense if boob changes happen during first pregnancy and not so much after that.

Jenster17 · 21/08/2017 12:51

@MissYeti was same for me but no booklet.... seemed a total waste of time really. I keep POAS at home to check I'm not imagining things!!

MissYeti · 21/08/2017 12:55

@jenster17 yep still poas too! OH is gifting me an early scan for my birthday to reassure me some more, still not convinced its actually happening!!

olicat · 21/08/2017 12:57

London ladies - I too have been debating when to get a baby on board badge - this morning I fell asleep on the way in haha. I don't have proper sickness yet but think I'll get a badge as soon as that kicks in, and if it doesn't, when my bump gets unwieldy. The first few weeks are so important - I think just get one when you feel you need it. Anyone who knows anything about pregnancy will understand about sickness etc. It's far better you get a seat than not having one and then vomming on someone! I am full on dreading the tube commute with sickness - use the central line which is hotter than the sun!

Jenster17 · 21/08/2017 13:23

@MissYeti I am so tempted by an early scan too. We go to Greece next week and I'd love to just have some confirmation all is ok before we go!

@olicat @Aspenn17 Good to know I'm not the only one trying not to vom on the tube. I have to take the Northern line each morn and it's soooo hot and smelly. Maybe I need to move to the end of the line to get a seat every morn!!! I reckon after my first scan at the hospital, I'm getting the badge...

Aspenn17 · 21/08/2017 13:30

I'm the same as you @olicat think I'm going to wait until the sickness kicks in or 12weeks.

We're going to get an early scan. I want to just check everything seems ok before we tell our parents and there is no way I can wait until 12 weeks! Is 8 weeks the normal kind of time to have one?

Just called the docs and they don't have an appt until 11th sep!!!

I took a photo of the two tests I did on my phone and keep having a sneaky look at work Grin haha.

MissYeti · 21/08/2017 13:45

@aspenn17 we just booked our early scan for 4/9 which is 6+6. I've read that any time after 6 weeks you'll see the heartbeat so almost 7 weeks should be fine :B I'm sure you'll be fine at 8 weeks!

MissYeti · 21/08/2017 13:47

@jenster17 oooh have a lovely time in Greece! Let us know if you do go for an early scan!

boatrace30 · 21/08/2017 13:49

@Aspenn17 , you can have one anytime from 6 weeks but I'd wait till at least 7 to be sure you will see things!

Anban · 21/08/2017 14:12

I have my scan booked for 29/8. I'll be 8 and 5. Almost seems not worth it but I couldn't wait any longer.

Sam91TRS15 · 21/08/2017 14:24

I will be 8+2 on my scan on Wednesday, 8 week is a good time to get a scan because its when the embryo becomes a foetus, which is a pretty big milestone for baby!

MrsDneedsaB · 21/08/2017 14:34

I tried to book an early scan for Friday as I have a day off (I will be 8+4) but Friday was the one day they weren't taking bookings - typical.

Sam I think we are due date buddies!

My mum guessed today, I went round for lunch and within 5 minutes of me walking through the door she asked me outright! LOL! thanks bloat for giving me away

Sam91TRS15 · 21/08/2017 15:23

Aww yay mrsD, but I'm sorry you didn't manage to get your scan booked, can you just take some sneaky time off next week? Luckily I can "work from home" a lot and get appointments whenever. Or go home because I'm an emotional wreck and couldn't cope being at work today. I thought getting closer to my scan would make me less anxious but it's all I can think about. Had a wee meltdown when I got home. It's just so overwhelming

harrietm87 · 21/08/2017 16:26

Hi everyone. I've been watching this thread for a few weeks now and been too scared to join. This is my 4th pregnancy this year after 2 early losses and a mmc, and hoping it will be my first baby. I had all the tests done and was diagnosed with aggressive NK cells so am on a cocktail of drugs, and it seems to have worked as I've had two scans now at 5+5 and 6+4 (today) and have seen the heartbeat at both - yay! Because of my history I will have scans every week, which should help keep the fear and paranoia at bay.

My due date is 12 April. Time is already really dragging!

Anban · 21/08/2017 16:43

I just checked the appointments and looks like they had had a cancellation so I moved it up to Wednesday. I'll be 7 and 6 so should be pretty good for the 8 week marker! I am so excited!

Anban · 21/08/2017 16:53

Hey Harriet! Sounds like your bean is sticking well! Fx for you that it stays that way.

Anyone else have am EDD of April 5th?

Poppyandpeaches · 21/08/2017 16:59

@Sam91TRS15 so glad I'm not the only one! I told my boss last week because I'm so anxious I can barely function! Can cope with working from home but commuting and dealing with people face-to-face is proving tricky!
@aspenn17 I've booked my early scan for 8+2. I had a difficult time first time around so had scans at 5, 6 and 8 weeks and you could see so much more at 8 weeks. Plus it's about half way between finding out and your 12 week scan.
@harrietm87 keeping everything crossed for you

Thelostsock · 21/08/2017 17:06

Aw lovely news @harrietm87, sounds very positive

Has anyone found that rather than morning sickness, they get morning nausea with diarrhoea? I though this was just a very early pregnancy sign but it's only getting worse as the weeks go on and its horribly embarrassing at work, think I'd find vomiting easier to hide.

Jenster17 · 21/08/2017 17:15

Aw congrats @harrietm87 and so sorry to hear what you've been through this year already. My due date is 15th April so same week as you 😊

MissYeti · 21/08/2017 17:15

As long as I see a heartbeat on my early scan I'm happy, the rest can wait til the 12 week scan :) only 2 weeks to wait!! I'm so excited!

harrietm87 · 21/08/2017 17:34

Thanks jenster, lostsock, anban and poppy! So happy to be on this thread now 😊. Obviously still lots of worry ahead but today I'm happy!

Good luck to all of you with early scans!

Poppyandpeaches · 21/08/2017 17:35

@theloststock yep I've been alternating between constipation/diarrhoea since 4 weeks. The joys!
