@LPMD I've pm'd you Smile

Finch82 · 20/08/2017 19:43

Aspenn17 I spent a good couple of days feeling bone tired, falling asleep in the hire car and just needing to nap. Think this was my immune system dropping in order for my body to accept the embryo nestling in to uterus. Then I just started to feel "odd"-can't really put my finger on it. I just felt different. Then, on the last day of our honeymoon, the day we flew back, I started to feel sick and it didn't go away. I think this must have been when the placenta implanted (I think this was 2 weeks after conception, so 4 weeks pregnant). And then I had a weird feeling on the plane that it wasn't just me and DH flying home-it felt like we were coming back with someone extra-that maybe sounds nuts! Hmm

What about you?

Bumpkin21 · 20/08/2017 19:49

@missyeti - I felt exhausted and a bit nauseous from 4 weeks but looking back I think that was just the excitement of the BFP, because at 6 weeks the proper nausea and sore boobs hit me like a truck! Just enjoy the next week or so of no symptoms, as they'll arrive before you know it!

Poppyandpeaches · 20/08/2017 20:03

@MissYeti this is my second and I am starting to feel queasy now at 5+3. I think first time around I made it to 7/8 before really getting sick. But I know a few people who haven't felt the slightest bit different and everything was fine so try not to worry

LivLemler · 20/08/2017 20:29

I found out at 3+2, so very early. I had sore boobs and a little nausea but nothing too much. Now I'm 6+3 and feeling a lot more - feeling sick, boobs like rocks, more tired. That's really only started in the last few days, I didn't have much at all at 4 weeks.

Jenster17 · 20/08/2017 20:45

I'm also massively bloated - I'm 6+1. Have spent the weekend lounging (and napping!!) in my leggings! The nausea for me has got worse in last couple of days and is much worse in the mornings. Anyone else having crazy dreams?!

MissYeti · 20/08/2017 21:04

Thanks for all the responses! You're all wonderful at putting me at ease

pickle162 · 20/08/2017 21:11

Lol yes you will def regret saying that when nausea kicks it 😖it's horrific. Like having a sickness bug but 24/7. The tender boobs don't bother me, the exhaustion is hard but could manage if didn't feel so sick
Just threw up and my vision went really weird in one-that's a new one! Nearly bed time wahoo! Wish it was the start of the weekend again, not sure how I'll get through the day without 4naps

LPMD · 20/08/2017 21:12

Thanks @OuiMerci, actioning it now :-) x

olicat · 20/08/2017 21:34

yeti I'm totally the same 'ooh I'd like to feel a bit more sick'... I'm sure I really don't and will indeed rue the day I ever thought that! I'm 5+1 and main symptoms are sore nipples and stretchy cramps. Also crying LOADS at nothing. jen I kid you not every single night for the last week I've been having insane vivid dreams!

Finch82 · 20/08/2017 21:53

I didn't think I was having any cravings. However, last week a SW member posted up a photo of their baked oats breakfast along with the recipe. I fixated on it for 2 whole days to the point where I woke up on Friday and NEEDED it. So I got the ingredients and made it. I then became obsessed with the idea of eating spinach cannelloni (not something I normally ever eat) and again, had really intrusive thoughts about it all day Friday and Saturday to the point I had to go and get the ingredients and make it so I could eat it.

I thought cravings were needing to eat one particular thing over and over again? Or am I having cravings?

Also, no food aversions. However, lots of things I eat become immediately unbearable. I might have been hankering for that cannelloni yesterday, but the thought of eating the left overs today turns my stomach. Same with a hamburger DH served up for me last week. The idea of eating that now makes me want to barf. Are these food aversions? I suddenly really picky. Anyone else?

YorkieDorkie · 20/08/2017 22:00

I'd love a craving, haven't had one this time or the last time!

boatrace30 · 20/08/2017 22:04

While on the topic of symptoms has anyone noticed anything different compared to their first dc (if you have one). The nausea and exhaustion are worse for me but my boobs haven't changed at all. Last time they were sore and I needed a new bra at 8weeks (went from A cup to C cup in three weeks!) but nothing this time, nothing at all! Though they never reduced properly post breastfeeding (I'm a permanent C cup now) so wonder if that's why?

Finch82 · 20/08/2017 22:11

@boatrace30 I have a friend who is a midwife/health visitor. She told me that breasts go through their final stage of development during a woman's first pregnancy. I was really surprised and told her I'd never heard that before. She said not that many people know about it and it doesn't get mentioned much. Maybe that explains your lack of boob symptoms this time-you boobs are now fully developed so don't need to change as much.

It'd be interesting to hear if other mums who are on their 2nd/3rd etc. Corroborate this. This is my 1st pregnancy so can't offer up anything other than what my friend said.

Bumpkin21 · 20/08/2017 22:21

@Finch they sound like cravings and aversions to me! Mine change all the time too. I used to fancy nectarines a lot, today it's been cheerios. Last week I really needed carb and stodge and today I couldn't look at a sandwich!

Finch82 · 20/08/2017 22:25

@Bumpkin21 yes, I just looked up the nutritional content of oats and spinach and they both have lots of crossovers: manganese, magnesium, B1, iron and zinc in particular! Yep-CRAVINGS! Grin

Aspenn17 · 21/08/2017 06:29

@Finch82, that's so cute, you sensed that you had a little stow away coming back with you!! Smile my symptoms happened pretty much overnight, straight after ovulation my skin went from being perfectly clear to basically having acne! Loads of painful lumpy, under the skin type spots all over my chin and a a few on my back and I very rarely get spots, my boobs felt bigger and sore too. DH said he knew I was pregnant but I think I was in denial a bit, it's easy to blame stuff on other factors when you're away e.g. Oh it's probably the flying or the change in diet or the stress of the wedding etc! And these cramps threw me off because I thought it was AF arriving!

No cravings for me but I guess it's early days. Calling the doctor this morning to get my first appointment. What happens at your first appt?

First day back at work today in a month. Dreading it but having this little secret is making it a little more exciting!

Sam91TRS15 · 21/08/2017 06:43

boatrace, I have a DD, and the sickness is definitely not as bad - only nausea every now and again. Though it ramped up at 8 weeks last time and I'm 8+0 today so will see how that goes! My boobs only hurt/got bigger while breastfeeding, and I'm sure they are smaller than before my first pregnancy... But this time they are def sore and larger - clearly my body didn't get the memo last time! Though my boobs get big and then small again at various times of the day, is this normal?

boatrace30 · 21/08/2017 07:47

@Finch82 , thanks that's really interesting, I'd heard something similar before so it must be that!
Also yes I'd say you have cravings. I don't get them as such but I do suddenly feel the need for a certain type of food, and its changeable but usually carb based!!

@Aspenn17 , where I am you don't have a doctors appointment just a midwife booking appt but you can't usually do that till you are about 8weeks (I found it odd with first pregnancy that I didn't need to see a doctor! But it could be different for you.

YorkieDorkie · 21/08/2017 08:02

Same boatrace I have marginally more sickness but nothing is happening with my boobs! Thankfully the cramping is just about nonexistent. Last time I was in agony.

Bumpkin21 · 21/08/2017 08:42

@Aspenn17 - on the first appointment they just work out your dates, do height, weight, a bit of tummy prodding, tell you to take pre natal vitamins, and give you forms to self refer to a hospital, and for your medical exemption certificate. Worth also reminding them of any preexisting medical conditions, as they also checked my thyroxine as it's often low.

MissYeti · 21/08/2017 08:56

@bumpkin21 that's good to know! Ive got my first appointment in a few hours :o

Finch82 · 21/08/2017 09:08

My appointment with the midwifery team is a week on Wednesday. They told me they'd also be taking a blood test.

Morning sickness has ramped up. I've just been loudly heaving into the toilet to bring up a little bit of foamy, watery acid. Nice!

pickle162 · 21/08/2017 09:45

Finch-mine is similar, actually been being sick since yesterday but not really eating enough to be properly sick more foamy/liquid.

Jenster17 · 21/08/2017 10:41

Good luck with first appointments ladies! Mine was an anti climax as doc didn't even confirm I am preg, he just did a hospital referral so am now waiting for that appt to come through!
I live in London and get the tube everyday - this morning was awful wit nausea and increased sense of smell. It was so hot and packed and I felt like I could smell everyone 🤢 Any other London ladies on here? When do you think ok to get a baby on board badge? I feel like a need a seat but feel silly since I don't have a bump?! (Other than massive bloat!!)
