Hi all :) had my BFP on Thursday, feel so rubbish,so far this week, flu like super achey Ekks.
Sad
Has anyone had a early scan would you recommend it? Or wait until 12 weeks? This is my first pregnancy. I am keeping everything crossed I have a sticky little bean Smile

Finch82 · 08/08/2017 23:22

Congratulations lulupopsted

This is my first baby too. I didn't even know you could have an early scan. Hopefully some mum's on thread will post with some info.

I'm feeling rubbish. I feel sick constantly. I'm only just over 4 weeks gone. Can anyone here tell me what is the more likely scenario: will the nausea stay pretty constant or is it likely to get worse?

lulupopsted · 08/08/2017 23:32

Aww finch82 I am 4+4 too today! Snap Smile
You can pay privately for a 6-8 week scan to check things! I am tempted.

NickMyLipple · 09/08/2017 05:49

I've had loads of weird symptoms and happenings which prompted me to test even though my period is due today. I've had sore nipples, my coffee tasted rank the other day, I've taken to having lashings of marmite, I was randomly sick in the middle of the night and I followed a car this morning with BFP as the nunberplate... I knew I should test!

My situation is somewhat complicated by the fact I'm morbidly obese - I've lost about 4 stone so far on slimming world but I still have a lot of stones to go to get me anywhere near healthy. My GP signed me up for a weight management programme which I'm attending (but due to work I will have to stop - continue with SW though). I was told it would be highly unlikely for me to get pregant at my current size/weight. I was on the depo for 10 years and then switched to the implant which I had out in May and didn't replace with anything. I've had one full cycle since then which I've tried to map, so DP and I DTD 3 days before I thought I would ovulate (Not an exact science, just used an app!) And here I am now up-duffed.

I realise how lucky I am (And I also realise it doesn't mean I'll have a sticky bean!) But for me, I'm fertile. DP and I have the ability to make babies!

Mimilicious013 · 09/08/2017 10:58

How are you today @scottish? Hope the bleeding has completely stopped.

Glad all is going well @mrsd

Congrats and welcome to all who recently got their bfps.

@sunshine, have been trying lots of water and snacking and it's helping. Thanks.

Mimilicious013 · 09/08/2017 10:59

Hope everyone slept well and have a great day Flowers

Finch82 · 09/08/2017 12:07

@NickMyLipple Wow! Well done on your weight loss so far! 4 stone is amazing! I'm on SW too. I've lost a stone so far and 9 more lbs would have meant I'd be out of the "obese" category into the simply "overweight" category. I'm going to carry on with SW as I think it will be easier now I don't have the temptation of alcohol! I'm hoping it will stop me piling on pregnancy lbs and keep my diet nice and healthy for my baby.

My consultant told the group about a member she had who was pregnant. The scale readings meant nothing but everyone saw her bump growing bigger while her back getting narrower!

I hope you have yourself a sticky little bean in there. The fact you are pregnant now must be testament to all of the hard work you've put in so far! Congratulations!!! Flowers

Finch82 · 09/08/2017 12:08

You too Mimilicious! Smile

itsascottishbaby · 09/08/2017 12:12

Not good, still bleeding, have a scan tomorrow morning... I suspect it's all over but I'll let you know xx

Mimilicious013 · 09/08/2017 13:15

I'm so sorry hun, keeping everything crossed for you. Let's hope tomorrow you will have some good news at the scan.

Mimilicious013 · 09/08/2017 13:23

finch and nick , well done on the weight loss. I'm a plus size girl and have gained a lot of during the ttc journey that was frustrating and never ending. My fear is that l am really enjoying my food and l don't want to think how much I am going to gain 🙈. When I was pregnant with dd, I had hg and never kept anything down. Breastfeeding also kept me looking good but the past year has been a nightmare. Will try and and look into the sw and try that. Good luck girls on your journeys.

MrsDneedsaB · 09/08/2017 13:46

Amazing work on the weight loss!!

I too am plus size, tried to lose weight before ttc but caught so quickly I was astounded. Just joined a bloody gym and everything lol typical

I'm worried that if I miscarry they will just take one look at me and go - well you know why you lost it don't you Sad

OuiMerci · 09/08/2017 13:55

@itsascottishbaby I have my fingers crossed for you x

I was very overweight when I had DD1 and logged all my food on MyFitnessPal. When she was born I weighed nearly a stone lighter than at the beginning of the pregnancy. I then lost about 5 stone through healthy eating and breastfeeding.

Unfortunately I then put on 3 stone with DD2 and have only managed to lose 1 stone so I'm going into this pregnancy heavier than I'd like but I'm hoping I can keep logging with MFP to keep a track of my eating. Dreading the first weigh in with the midwife!

Thecomfortador · 09/08/2017 14:09

Can I tentatively join? Just got an early bfp, due date around 20th April. Ds is currently asleep on my knee, still bfing, and have an interview for full time job next week so I've no idea what the coming months will look like. Must be mad.

Parney · 09/08/2017 14:38

Welcome and congratulations @thecomfortador I'm breastfeeding an 8mo and really don't want to stop! Good luck with your interview.

I can join those of you who need to control weight. I had lost a lot since DS but I fear it's back on and more, dreading midwife appointment as I know I'll be overweight if not worse. SW is great, hopefully I can get back into it too. I'm always starving these days though, combination of early pregnancy and bf I suppose. Strange when it's mixed with nausea as well, I feel very, very sick at times and did not have this last time at all!

Hope your scan brings good news @itsascottishbaby. Let us know.

I've booked a scan for tomorrow. I'm not sure how far I am, LMP was 9 weeks ago but it was my first since DS and I had a BFN nearly 4 weeks ago so I can't be that far, I think I'm about 6 weeks.

NickMyLipple · 09/08/2017 16:05

MrsD - I have the exact same fear about miscarrying...

Neverenoughspoons · 09/08/2017 17:34

Hiya, so happy to be joining you all, how exciting & congratulations to everyone! It's great to have people to talk to about it, as we've not told anyone else yet. This will (hopefully) be my 2nd & I'm 4+6. We've got a 3 year old already. We've been trying since Nov.

MrsDneedsaB · 09/08/2017 17:47

Nick it's terrible isn't it, we know full well their could be other reasons but the shame is just mortifying Blush

Congrats Neverenough Flowers

TwinkleTee · 09/08/2017 21:42

Hello Ladies can I jump aboard?
Got my BFP about a week ago, due date 14th April, or there abouts!

I have a very spirited 2 and a bit year old, so hoping that the sickness doesn't kick in with a vengeance in a week or so like last time..

I keep having to POAS every couple of days justo keep checking it's still real. Clomid worked first time again, cant quite believe it.... Thank god though as it turns me into a right mood swinger!

Testar0ssa · 09/08/2017 22:51

Hi there, another one for the early April bus.
I had promised myself to be more chilled out this time round, being my second. However, I've just eaten a small amount of pasteurised soft cheese, similar to Camembert, which was bought thoughtfully by DH for me...and, now I've googled, I realise my mistake. panics

Congrats to all, and best wishes and crossed everything for those waiting on early scans

Crapbags · 09/08/2017 22:52

Hi can I join you ladies? I'm around 6wks with baby no.3 already have DD6 and DS3. Have been deliberating about whether to go for no.3 for about a year, couldn't make our minds up and then surprise! A miscalution of ovulation/fertile period and decision was made for us.

I'm quite aprehensive about going from 2-3 and wonder how I'll cope especially as some days I don't feel I cope with 2Shock.

Receive my scan date this morn Sept 25th think my due date is very early April but with both previous pregnancies date has come forward after scan.

I'm feeling pretty awful, fairly constant nausea, bloating, hunger and tiredness, such a wonderful combination, can't believe it's likely I'll feel like this for another 6wksSad

I've tried to read all previous posts but not sure I managed it very well....congrats to everyone and thoughts and well wishes to those having a tough time.

LPMD · 09/08/2017 23:15

Hey guys, just got my BFP today! This will be my third baby, I have two boys aged 5 and 6 years old. Congratulations everyone and good luck!!!!

LPMD · 09/08/2017 23:17

Crapbags, I feel the same as you. I've spoken to a few mums and they say it's easier going from 2 to 3 than with 1 to 2. Whatever happens, you will always make it work.

LPMD · 09/08/2017 23:17

Btw, is there a Facebook group for April 2018 mums? Shall I set one up? :-)

NickMyLipple · 10/08/2017 06:15

LPMD - I'll join if you do!

(Though you know when it pops up "Jane has joined X group" - might it tell everyone I'm up-duffed?!)
