Loxy - LOL.

Lizziebear15 · 30/06/2017 14:25

Hi can I join

Due my second dc on 2nd Feb. Have one DD who was 2 in march. Had my booking in appt yesterday which was no where near as exciting as first time round. Feeling so much worse this pregnancy- constant nausea.

Sorry for everyone's losses, I had an early mc in April this year and understand how upsetting it is

Loxy4527 · 30/06/2017 16:19

babayagga Wink

I was thinking about what you've all been saying about not fitting in clothes and I have been feeling pretty bloated and meh. Braved the scales this morning and discovered that I've lost weight! Dunno if this is because of eating much more fruit and veg or not being very hungry or both. Totally ate half a tube of pringles and didn't feel bad about it

halloumisandwich · 30/06/2017 17:05

Hi all, can I join too please? Due on 2nd Feb and this will be my first. Had a MC at nearly 11 weeks in feb so very nervous this time round, but had my booking in appointment today, and scan booked for 25th July so just a few more weeks to get through! Hope everyone has lovely relaxed weekends planned

LulusForest · 30/06/2017 17:36

Hi all, I've not been very good at keeping up with these threads as work has been crazy busy and all I have had the energy to do in the evenings is collapse on the sofa!

Sorry to all who have suffered losses or are going through a tough time Flowers and welcome to the newbies.

I am 6+1 today and still don't really have any symptoms except for being super tired all the time. I've been feeling very slightly nauseous and have had a bit of a headache on and off, but not too bad. I'm not sure whether to feel grateful that I don't feel worse, or worried that I don't have more symptoms...

Got my letter through today with my first two midwives appointments on it. Apparently I have a 'first contact' appointment next Wednesday which will last about half an hour, followed by the booking appointment the week after. Not sure what will happen at the first contact appointment, anyone else had one of those?

Oh and we will definitely be finding out the gender! I'm waaay to impatient not to.

LulusForest · 30/06/2017 17:42

Also, does anyone know if it's ok to use body fat scale when you're pregnant? I know the percentage won't be accurate, but I have the Fitbit Aria scales and there's no way to turn off the body fat function, so even if I want to use them just for weight, it will do the measurement anyway.

Fitbit say you should check with a doctor before using them. I'll ask the midwife at my first appointment next week, but just wondering if anyone has previously asked a dr or midwife about this?

OrangeCloud18 · 30/06/2017 19:07

Hello! Can I join?

We found out a few days ago that we were expecting #1!!
I have had a phone consultation with my doctor and should have first midwife apt on 14/07. I am 6 weeks along with a due date of 22/02/2018.

EmilyK83 · 30/06/2017 19:33

Hey Orange, welcome! First for me as well, due 8 days before you...so exciting!! How are you feeling?

Not much new to report here. Still feeling massively bloated, nausea's always there in the background, and the constipation is killing me. Fun and games...

OrangeCloud18 · 30/06/2017 19:40

Hi Emily!

This is really exciting! We had been trying for 7 months and I really did not think I was pregnant! When the second line showed up it was a very happy shock!
As to how I feel...Morning sickness should have been called all time sickness in my case but I'm also hungry all the time! And my boobs are killing me already!

We are soooo happy Grin

Pidgythe2nd · 30/06/2017 19:41

Hi to all the joiners!
I don't think we will find out the sex, although I'm very impatient, so who knows. I hope I stay strong!!
I did with both DS and DD but as we've got one of each, thought this one might be a nice surprise. I have no idea what it could be. Sometimes I think girl, other times boy! Can think of advantages for each, but really don't mind as whatever it is will be right, if that makes sense!?
I have loads of clothes in the loft for each so don't need to buy anything......must keep telling myself that!! I'm a sucker for baby clothes. I suppose I do need some white going home outfits. Grin

LulusForest · 30/06/2017 21:36

Welcome orange! This is my first too, and we have the same due date Smile. I'm also hungry alll the time, but I haven't had any morning sickness luckily!

LeannieRVN · 01/07/2017 08:46

Hi everyone...just found the new thread.I was part of the last one, but as a bit of a lurker, as I have an uber busy work schedule. I try really hard to join in but by the time I've caught up with all the pages of new posts, I often don't have time to write something myself! Sorry! I do wish everyone all the best, and I'm so, so sorry for those who have suffered losses. I'm booked for a private early scan at Pass in Norwich on Monday eve, as I'm so anxious about viability due to my age. The potential complications of eing an older mum to be is really affecting my enjoyment. I need my mind put at rest.
I noticed I'd not made the list, so here are my stats again if not too late.
Age 40
TTC #1
Due 19th Feb

Troika · 01/07/2017 09:00

Hi everyone
Nausea in full swing here now. Not actually been sick yet but feel constantly seasick.

We'll be finding out the sex. With dd2 I said to dp it was up to him as she was his first but when they asked if we wanted to know after our cvs test I said yes straight away and didn't give him the option. We have boxes of girls clothes so will be able to get rid of those and beg boys clothes off my sister if we have a boy. I kind of want another girl but only because my imaginary family was always 3 girls one boy and also because ds was a nightmare baby so my experience of boys is not so positive. I wouldn't really mind either way once it was here though.

I haven't even phoned the midwife to make my booking in appointment yet Blush

OrangeCloud18 · 01/07/2017 09:22

Hello everyone!
How exciting Lulus! One of the first things I did was check if it was a leap year in case I am overdue haha

We are definitely finding out the sex Grin I don't mind either way, though. I'm just really curious.

Does anyone have a baby bump? I am a size 8 with some belly fat and I just feel like I've got a bigger fat pouch.

EmilyK83 · 01/07/2017 09:51

Orange it'll be a while till the genuine bump shows I think...I'm a size 8 too and definitely have some thickening round my waist already though! Plus the boobs have grown, haha.

Just done a shopping trip to buy stuff to batch cook and freeze this weekend - a few nights this week I've felt too rubbish to cook, and I don't trust dp to do it Wink

lookatthemoon · 01/07/2017 10:31

I definitely have noticed a little pouch although it seems a little early for anything to show (am 9 weeks). DH keeps reminding me that my uterus has now doubled in size.

I spent most of the afternoon vomiting so it is unlikely to be bloating 🤢 there can't be anything left in there ...

TriJo · 01/07/2017 14:28

Just bloat here, but it does settle into a rather round shape in the evenings!

Survived a Parkrun and the Great London Swim this morning. Now eating rings around myself CakeCakeCake

Thattwatoverthere · 01/07/2017 19:09

Hope you're all doing ok

I've definitely got something going on bump wise but I'm pretty sure it's due to ridiculous constipation rather than baby. My mum and OH keep looking at it and think it's baby. My mum showed pretty soon apparently with me and was very big very quickly so who knows. Maybe I just have a super early expanding uterus.

Does anyone know if birth weight is linked to either parent or is it just down to chance/diet? hoping it's entirely linked to the mother...

OrangeCloud18 · 01/07/2017 19:23

That I'm not really sure... My parents had four little babies, my aunt had a small one with her first husband and two slightly bigger ones with her second husband so maybe?
I do hope it takes after the mother, my OH was not tiny and had big shoulders, I am terrified!

choochooo · 01/07/2017 19:44

I think it's genetic - my son was 9lb 10oz and my dh and my brother are both over 6 foot. If you're small supposedly you have smaller babies.

I have a very attractive pot belly. Prior baby and pregnancies have obviously stretched me so I'm showing quickly.

Not much in the way of symptoms here except crashing tiredness and I'm very dizzy all the time. I'm on spatone for borderline iron levels already but I'll ask them to check at booking in whether I should perhaps be taking iron tablets. I do have occasional stabby boob and slight barely there nausea.

The tiredness is killing me! I've got f/t job and a toddler who weighs 2.5 stone. He's also had a cough so we've not been getting much sleep.

I've had to tell a few people. Many people know about my previous mcs and so I've told work because I want to make sure I'm allowed to take time out if I need it. My boss is lovely about it and very supportive. I also need to let them know because I work in a role where I come in contact with animals and they need to ensure I'm being safe.

Hello and congratulations to all the newbies!

Thira · 01/07/2017 21:50

I can definitely feel my uterus when lying on my front! Had an early scan last week and I am 9 weeks now. I've told a few people, if I MC I'll need support again.

GingerRogers84 · 01/07/2017 21:57

Had my booking in appointment today in my home. Midwife was super nice! 😍
Apparently I'm a low risk pregnancy so will be recieving midwife led care and fingers croose, birth too!
No bump yet but still major bloating and sick feeling, which I'm curing by eating everything! 😂
I've got a small jack russel who seems to be very attentive towards me these days! Anyone else had pets become more interested?

choochooo · 01/07/2017 23:03

My cats used to snuggle up to my bump :)

LeannieRVN · 02/07/2017 09:04

I'm a veterinary nurse and pregnant clients often tell us stories about how their dogs and cats became more attentive and affectionate. They now use scent dogs to detect certain diseases, and seizure dogs have been about for years now. It's not a myth, they know! Inc which case though....it seems 2 dogs and 2 cats don't give a monkeys!
