I've got scan today at* epu but I'm pretty sure it's a mc as I'm bleeding properly now. So sad

lookatthemoon · 05/07/2017 08:10

Oh Choo - you poor thing. Best of luck and I hope you don't have to wait too long for the scan today xx

Toomanydogs · 05/07/2017 08:36

choo and eclectic really sorry to hear, thinking of you.

Don't know about anyone else but I hate bras at the best of times, and although I need the support at the moment they usually make my back really sore and I can never find one that is comfortable- however I've just discovered the wonder that is Bravissimo's sleep bra, SOOOO comfy!

EmilyK83 · 05/07/2017 08:57

Choo big hugs, I hope you get some answers today and you're not waiting too long.

Toomanydogs thanks for the tip! Will have to check it out...I'm gutted there's no Bravissimo near me! Currently living in my pre-weight loss bras for added comfort!

8 weeks today. Nausea seems to be getting worse by the day, which in a way I'm glad of. I'm loving looking at my Fitbit stats too and seeing my resting heart rate go up, and my nightly sleep hours increasing! I'm sad like that and love stats...

TriJo · 05/07/2017 09:07

So sorry choo and eclectic Flowers

Had my early scan yesterday, all good - measuring at 8+1 so due date is the 12th rather than the 14th. Still nauseous the vast majority of the time I'm awake, it's so hard to get myself out for a run these days!

CoffeeAndCupcakes85 · 05/07/2017 09:28

I'm so sorry Eclectic and Choo Flowers x

EmilyK83 · 05/07/2017 09:41

Congrats on the scan TriJo - so happy for you!

LulusForest · 05/07/2017 12:15

So sorry leannie, eclectic and choo. Take of yourselves and hopefully you will be back on these boards soon Flowers

I had my first appointment with the midwife this morning, it was a pre-booking appointment where I had my height and weight done and got given a bunch of leaflets. Got a private scan booked for next Wednesday when I'll be almost 8 weeks, and then proper booking appointment on the 19th July. It's all starting to feel more real now! I still don't really have any symptoms though, which is worrying me a bit, but hopefully the scan next week will provide some reassurance.

lookatthemoon · 05/07/2017 12:16

Trijo - I'm impressed you are still running. I was a regular runner before pregnancy but think I would struggle to even run 5k now. Do you find it hard to control your heartbeat? When I exercise now mine escalates really quickly.

lookatthemoon · 05/07/2017 12:16

Oh and congrats on the happy scan results!

OrangeCloud18 · 05/07/2017 12:41

I'm so sorry leannie, eclectic and choo.

Due to family history and my doctor saying she was 'not bothered', OH and I have decided to go through a private early scan.
Like Lulus, it'll be next Wednesday (I will be 8wks on the Thursday) and then I will have my booking in apt on the Friday woth the midwife.
I really need reassurance that all is well so far because my mum and my aunt have had huge issues with their pregnancies and it is on my mind a lot.

TriJo · 05/07/2017 12:55

look I just try to keep the effort comfortable, I don't really watch the actual number that closely. 6/10 effort generally works well for me at the moment. I'm keeping the distance relatively short, so 3km at the shortest and 7-10km at the longest. I'm also trying to avoid the hottest parts of the day because it's to be high-20s the next few days. I ran until 25 weeks the last time and I'd hope to keep going for similar this time around, I'm also due my 50 Parkruns t-shirt somewhere around 21 weeks and I'd like to get it on time!

LulusForest · 05/07/2017 12:56

orange sorry to hear about your family history. Hopefully the scan next week gives you some reassurance.

My DH told me last night that his dad, who has recently got engaged to his long term partner, is talking about having the wedding in mid-Feb Shock (my EDD is 22nd!). We were going to wait a few weeks before telling people, but now thinking we should at least tell them soon, as it will be a fairly small wedding and I'm sure they will want DH there.

EmilyK83 I am also a Fitbit data geek! Grin I have been going to bed earlier, but sadly haven't seen my sleep hours increase as I've been waking up a lot lately.

EmilyK83 · 05/07/2017 13:43

Ahhhh Lulus your appointment is the day after mine...don't know about you but to me it still feels ages away! Definitely think telling DH dad makes sense - and I'm glad I'm not the only Fitbit geek Smile. I remember reading a thread on Reddit a while ago where a couple found out they were pregnant because the woman's resting heart rate suddenly increased by about 10bpm...saw that, decided to do a test and the rest is history!

Loxy4527 · 05/07/2017 14:26

I've been getting up earlier and earlier to have a wee in the mornings and today was just dumb - 3am! Luckily I didn't have too much trouble getting to sleep again. Haven't had this little bladder control since I was a teenager.

Quite nervous for our scan on Saturday... should be 8+5 then. This is our first pregnancy to get this far... So desperate to see that heartbeat. Haven't had any bad signs so far so I keep saying to myself "it's overwhelmingly likely to be absolutely fine" but you can't help but wonder, particularly with other ladies on here not being so lucky.

lookatthemoon · 05/07/2017 14:36

Hi Loxy - totally get what you mean about the anxiety. I read a really good study today about women who had recurrent mc. I don't know how many losses you have had but the general statistics were that if you see at heartbeat at 6 weeks you have a 78% chance of a successful pregnancy. At 8 weeks that rises to 98% and 10 weeks = 99.4 %. I keep trying to remind myself of that. I hope you have an awesome scan! ☺️

lookatthemoon · 05/07/2017 14:40

Sounds good Trijo! Definitely worth keeping it up to get to the Parkrun 50. I really miss it. We are visiting a different country next week and there is a parkrun close by. Am sorely tempted to come out of my self imposed pregnancy retirement to give it a shot but think I would end up being ridiculously slow.

babayagga · 05/07/2017 14:41

Well, ladies - having been told by the midwife phone line to try to get a same-day GP appointment, I rushed to the surgery, missing work, only to have a very young, very clueless doctor scratch his head and say, 'I'm not sure why the midwife sent you here. You should go to the EPU because I can't give you a scan.'
What I said is that I suspected an infection, given the orange spotting. He measured my temperature (!) and my blood pressure, then kept scratching his head. Only when I left did it occur to me that he should have at least taken a look down there to see if anything seemed inflamed! A waste of everyone's time and taxes.

Am reluctant to go to EPU because I feel fine. I've had spotting since week 6, so it's just the change in colour that worries me... What do you think?

lookatthemoon · 05/07/2017 14:57

Maybe call the midwife line again? Did the doc suggest treating the infection? Did he do a urine sample or take a swab? If you have some sort of infection it needs to be treated so maybe EPU is the way to go. That doc sounds frustratingly useless!

babayagga · 05/07/2017 15:01

look- no, all he did was measure my temperature and blood pressure! He seemed to think that an ultrasound was needed in order to diagnose an infection... Hmm

choochooo · 05/07/2017 16:18

Hello

I'm not out yet but we are none the wiser

I have 2 sacs with yolk sacs but no babies can be seen at the moment. May be too early so have to go back in a week. Chances are though they just haven't developed. Very sad.
