Waves
Can I join? Due number 2 22nd February. Can't sleep, knackered, bloated and can't wait for the 'glow' to happen.

lookatthemoon · 04/08/2017 06:56

Fandango - excellent news - yay!!!

Troika - I am the same. I had scans at 11 & 12 weeks and I have another one on Monday at 14 weeks. And I worry every day something is wrong.

There is a possibility for all of us that something has or will go wrong but it is a far greater statistical likelihood that we feel like this because of a previous loss, not because there is actually something wrong. But yep I know how you feel. My first pregnancy was so cruisey compared to this.

TriJo · 04/08/2017 11:32

12 week scan this morning - all is well thankfully! :)

We're going to tell the families this weekend.

Emwahs · 04/08/2017 13:06

Congrats Trijo,

If anything was going to cause something to go wrong it would be today as the Most important inspection that as pharmacy we get happened today! (GPHC - the guys that give us our license) Pains started almost immediately as blood pressure seemed to have gone through the roof. All seems ok now and inspection went ok as well thankfully.

Just needed a rant and DH does not realise how stressful my Job is! Decided that after baby comes I will step down from manager as not sure I will go back full time anyway and don't need the stress!

lynzmb · 04/08/2017 15:53

Congrats @TriJo, me too! So good to see the wee pickle 😍

Ava1985 · 04/08/2017 17:55

Hi ladies!

trijo congrats on the scan!

I also had my 12 week scan today and all is wellSmile measuring 12+1 so edd is 15th Feb Smile

Hope you ladies have a lovely weekend! X

DoTheFandango · 04/08/2017 18:38

So ladies, I weighed myself today and I have put on 9 pounds in 14 weeks of pregnancy Blush please make me feel better, how much have you all gained? I know that some people lose weight initially due to sickness, but I found that eating took my nausea away so I have effectively been carb loading!!

NoParticularPattern · 04/08/2017 19:03

Fandango I wouldn't worry. I've put on about 6lbs already (I'm 14 weeks same as you!) and I did struggle to eat anything at all for about four weeks between 8 and 12!! I am hoping against hope that the lodge round my middle is a bump appearing and not just that I've eaten too much cake. I'm fairly sure it just looks like cake indulgence to the outside world, but I'm pretty certain it feels a lot firmer than it would if cake were the sole cause!! I hope!!

CoffeeAndCupcakes85 · 04/08/2017 19:37

Fandango - with DS I had put on over a stone by the end of my first trimester Blush. Try not to worry about it. You can sort it out post pregnancy x

lookatthemoon · 05/08/2017 00:57

Congrats on the scans Trijo, Ava and Lynz!

I'm 14 weeks today and definitely feeling movement now (flutters). Grin

Don't worry about the weight gain Fandango. I learned last pregnancy that your body is just going to do what it needs to and you can't really fight it. Also, I ended up with a better body post baby (well, like 9 months post baby). So you totally can recover anything after pregnancy!

babayagga · 05/08/2017 07:15

Wow- some people here can already feel movement? I am 14 weeks, but feel nothing of the sort. When I try to listen in, all I feel is my own heartbeat. Is this another reason to worry? Hmm

EmilyK83 · 05/08/2017 08:08

Congrats on the positive scans ladies!

Fandango I've gained at least the same, I keep telling myself it'll all sorts itself out when feeling less rubbish down the line, I wouldn't worry too much Smile

Movement already?! I didn't think that was possible till weeks down the line? But I've never done this before, so... Smile

lookatthemoon · 05/08/2017 08:10

Nope Babayagga - no need to worry! I think each person is different. I felt movement really early in my first pregnancy and they say you can feel it even earlier in your second pregnancy. I'm really petite and I think that might have something to do with it. I'm not feeling kicks or anything but I can feel flutters that are different to the 'gas' flutters 😊

lookatthemoon · 05/08/2017 08:13

My doc said first pregnancy is usually between 16 - 20 weeks is when you can feel movement but can be earlier in later pregnancies.

Sorry - I didn't mean to freak anyone out by saying I could feel it! Smile

Emwahs · 05/08/2017 10:36

I am 15 weeks today and I am sure I have felt little flutters, yesterday it felt like I was being tickled from the inside which was really strange. Only seems to happen after I have eaten, but I am petite also wonder if your right lookatthemoon*. I think it's around 20 weeks that you get more of a pattern to it. The midwife has given me a leaflet on counting the kicks which is really useful.

The hormone headaches seem to be back with a vengeance but I finally have my husband home for a couple of weeks so hopefully that will make life a little easier.

babayagga · 05/08/2017 13:13

look - it doesn't take much to freak me out these days Grin

Thank you both for the reassuring words.

EmilyK83 · 05/08/2017 21:06

Soooo...a question. Who's thought about names?

Assuming all goes to plan, we're thinking either Oliver or Nathaniel for a boy, and Matilda, Madeleine or Jessica for a girl...

TriJo · 06/08/2017 07:59

Most likely Ava for a girl but no idea for a boy. We need it to match a very Irish country surname, we like Irish names but they need to work in the UK easily, we also aren't fans of long names.

HolDaws · 06/08/2017 16:56

Hi Guys! First scan on wed, hopefully everything will be okay. Due date 15th Feb (I think!) x

CoffeeAndCupcakes85 · 06/08/2017 17:00

EmilyK - I don't want to jinx anything so we're not thinking about it properly now, but your list of names is VERY similar to ours Grin.

I also love Ava. Beautiful x

Emwahs · 06/08/2017 18:15

Think we are going to go with James for a boy and Sofia for a girl. Trying to agree on a name with the DH has been hard. We have a surname that is really hard to match with. I really wanted belle for a girl but with eade as a surname you can imagine what it would be named as from school kids as she gets older. Grin

EmilyK83 · 06/08/2017 19:35

Totally understand Coffee! Tbf we came up with our names list before even ttc Smile

Ava is a lovely name! We wanted to go for 3 syllables as it seems to work best with my soon-to-be new name (under 4 weeks till the wedding now!!)

James is a classic...love Sofia too Emwahs! And yeah, it's a minefield...surnames, what initials would spell, exes with the same name...we've ruled a fair few out for those reasons Grin

pretzelpieces · 06/08/2017 22:30

Sorry I'm a bit behind! Loving the name choices. My DP and DD's names have been suggested here ;) we found name ideas really difficult this time but I think we've agreed on some. The little one will grow into their name whatever we choose, I'm sure.

limo are you OK? The last message I saw from you said your husband has meningitis, I hope everything's OK.

I've been struggling with anxiety a bit and have made an appointment with the GP. Having some sciatica issues too.

I had gestational diabetes last time so I have to go to a glucose tolerance test just before 16 weeks. Bah.

Congrats to all the lovely scans coming through.

lookatthemoon · 06/08/2017 23:00

We had a very long list of names last time and then when DS arrived it felt like none of them suited him. It took us four days to name him!! So I think we will wait a while ... some gorgeous names have been suggested here though.

lookatthemoon · 06/08/2017 23:02

Random question but has anyone heard of the 'Epi-no'? apparently it is a balloon-like device that helps you train your pelvic floor and 'stretch' the lady garden to prevent tearing.

I had a pretty bad tear last time which am hoping to avoid this time - just wondering if this would be worthwhile or is total nonsense.
