Anyone got any advice for feeling super tired at around 3pm? Normally I'd have a coffee but that's out. I'm literally at my desk and my eyes are closing without me meaning to.

Pinkandwhite · 02/08/2017 15:28

Could you have a tea instead Loxy? Its less caffeine but still some caffeine or are you off caffeine entirely? Bananas and dried fruit are also meant to give you an energy boost...

Pinkandwhite · 02/08/2017 15:28

Again, I think I've messaged everyone who said they wanted to join the Facebook group but if I've missed anyone, let me know!

TriJo · 02/08/2017 16:37

/waves at Pinkandwhite

Loxy Sounds daft but a can of Coke is only 32mg of caffeine! Much less than coffee.

pickledprogress · 02/08/2017 19:06

Hi Pinkandwhite. I've tried messaging but receptions been bad so unsure if sent - no request came through for the group??

Pinkandwhite · 02/08/2017 21:05

Sorry about that pickledprogress. Let me try again. We're up to 26 members now.

SofiePendragon · 02/08/2017 21:13

emwahs have you tried spatone? You can buy it in Boots. There's an apple flavoured one which still has a slight metallic taste but I found it much better than the tablets.

Loxy4527 · 02/08/2017 21:42

Thanks for the tips trijo and pinkandwhite! I'm not off caffeine entirely, just decaf on coffee and trying to only have one cup of tea or can of Coke Zero in any given day :) definitely need to stock up on the fruit snacks

Mummyhen5 · 02/08/2017 21:49

I'd like to join the fb group if poss please

EmilyK83 · 02/08/2017 21:52

Thanks ladies, going to call my GP in the morning I think, just to put my mind at ease!

Loxy I'd say go down the coke route...or maybe banana or nuts for slow release energy?

Emwahs · 02/08/2017 22:36

sofie I manage a boots pharmacy (for my sins) and yes I had a 80 year old telling me off for the whole morning after pill price fiasco (like I get a say in it) and my pharmacist and i were looking at spa tone but we have given feraglobn a go as a lot cheaper so will see how I feel on that. It's ok to take as long as I have a drink of squash after.

emily let us know what the GP says good luck xx

TriJo · 03/08/2017 10:03

Emily I've found the 100-150cal packets of dried fruit/nuts that you can get in Sainsburys or Co-op very convenient as a mid-morning snack - enough to fill a hole until lunch but not enough to make you feel too bleurgh. Cashew nuts are particularly good.

Emwahs I haven't taken it in pregnancy but when I had low iron before I found Ferrograd-C very good, the vitamin C increases the rate of iron absorption.

cloud30 · 03/08/2017 10:27

yeah fruit & nuts are good one for me too! I had 12 week scan yday and all looking good! was amazing to see heartbeat & a wriggly baby! DD 10th of Feb!

Pinkandwhite. could i be added in to fb secret chat please too?

EmilyK83 · 03/08/2017 10:32

Yeahhhhhhh congrats on the scan cloud!

Can't help on the liquid supplement front I'm afraid, folic acid and vit D in tablet form for me...

Managed to get a GP appointment for 4.45 this afternoon, which I'm pleased about!

CoffeeAndCupcakes85 · 03/08/2017 14:34

I'll join the FB group once I know everything is ok following my 12 week scan (on 14th Aug) and tests. I don't want to tempt fate by joining now Sad. Congrats to all those who have had healthy scans!

I'm a big spatone fan! I whack it in some orange juice and don't even notice it Grin.

Troika · 03/08/2017 14:42

Finally had my booking appointment. Scan is just under 2 weeks when I'll be 13+6 by my dates. Still can't shake the fear I've had a mmc though Sad

EmilyK83 · 03/08/2017 15:22

Troika plenty of hand holding from me, I'm in exactly the same boat so I know just how you feel. Especially with symptoms easing off. Hopefully all will be ok x

EmilyK83 · 03/08/2017 17:08

Back from GP, and it's not a urine infection! She said she's sending my sample off anyway, and it could just be cystitis...who knows. It's a mystery!

llamabeans · 03/08/2017 18:22

Tiredness is back with a vengeance this week! Might just be because I am back in the office full time after a few weeks of mostly working from home. Might be because I haven't slept through the night all week because I wake up thirsty or needing to pee (or both!)

Anyway, it's DH's birthday today so plans for the rest of the evening are sofa and Chinese takeaway! Fine by me!

Troika · 03/08/2017 18:34

I don't think I've ever had this fear before in any of my pregnancies Emily, I don't know if I am just more aware now or if it's a sixth sense type thing. Also the only pregnancy I have had spotting in until now is the one I mc at 7 weeks so that scares me. This is also the least sick I have ever been, although I did have a rough few weeks.

Shame you didn't get any answers at the gp

Loxy4527 · 03/08/2017 18:35

Can of coke definitely helped today for a short burst :) was yawning again after a couple of hours but by then it was nearly home time.

Was properly sick last night again Sad been making up for it today though by eating like a horse Grin

Sah2241 · 03/08/2017 18:44

@Troika I feel the same. I was so relaxed during my first pregnancy, despite having virtually no symptoms until my bump started to appear. This time I feel so nervous and keep convincing myself that something will go wrong. I think maybe I was quite naive first time round and since then I've had friends who have had bad experiences that have stuck with me. Hopefully we're both just being paranoid - sending lots of positive thoughts!

cloud30 · 03/08/2017 19:43

if it helps any i've had no symptoms past 2 weeks & was very nervous prior to scan but all was good at the scan. i know it's difficult not to worry though

Emwahs · 03/08/2017 21:10

troika I was certain it had all gone wrong before my scan but all was well. I am a really bad worrier just started feeling baby move and if it don't feel it for a couple of hours I am beside myself. I am sure everything will be fine but keeping all fingers crossed for you x

DoTheFandango · 03/08/2017 21:32

Hi all,

Congrats on the recent successful 12 week scans :) I had my screening results back today by post- low risk for al, l 1 in 890 for Down Syndrome and 1 in 1100 for Edwards/Patau. Pleased that we are through this bit now and looking forward to my 16 week scan. 14 weeks tomorrow!
I would like to join the FB group please- how do I do this?
