I rang up the antenatal booking line earlier to see if they had any cancellations before complaining and they have changed my appointment to 11th August so finally got sorted . And I seem to have lots more energy today but still eating like a pig . Hope everyone is doing ok

SofiePendragon · 21/07/2017 16:24

Yay Betty! Glad it's all sorted! Ridiculous that they put you through so much stress though!

pretzelpieces · 21/07/2017 16:54

look Congrats on the good scan result. Smile

All went well with mine this afternoon, such a relief. I'll attach a pic.

boring so glad you've been able to get an earlier scan. Shame you had to fight for it!

Lovely scan pics ladies. I'm 10+1 today and still no sign of my scan date, can't wait to know when it is!

LulusForest · 21/07/2017 17:51

Thanks TriJo, pretzel and look, I did call the midwife in the end who told me to call the EPU, who said to come in for a scan on Monday. They did say that it's highly unlikely anything is really wrong because it was only a small amount of spotting, and because I had an private scan at 8 weeks that looked fine. And the spotting does seem to have stopped, so trying not to worry - but as you all know, that's easier said than done!

Congrats toomany, sofie, pretzel and look on your scans! Lovely pictures...I can't believe how much more baby-like they look compared to a scan at 8 weeks!

cookingbabydunc · 21/07/2017 18:20

Thanks for sharing your scan pictures ladies. I got so emotional seeing them today...emotions still all over the place and I'm also more forgetful which is really frustrating but despite that symptoms are also reducing which is nice although it freaks me out a bit

halloumisandwich · 21/07/2017 19:08

Lovely scan pics! So exciting to see the little ones. Mine is on Tuesday and i'm so nervous, it can't come round quickly enough.

cloud30 · 21/07/2017 19:16

Sorry i've been a bit absent too recently! so lovely to see all the scan pictures! I hadbooking appt yday (10w4) & had ketone levels of 4, no sugars. almost had to go in to hospital for iv fluids but as i'm keeping fluids down i've just to get rechecked tomorrow! symptoms much improving this week!

Thattwatoverthere · 21/07/2017 23:16

Great scan pictures! So excited for mine! My OH now has to work on Monday so can't come to mine which I'm gutted about. On the plus side my mum will be there which will mean the world to her and he's spending the extra he'll be earning on a 16 week private scan Grin. Might try to demand one a month....

pretzelpieces · 22/07/2017 10:12

cooking I'm really emotional too. I've also just finished breastfeeding though so I think that might be messing with my hormones/emotions quite a bit too.

That means I can eat cheese again! Hooray! And milk chocolate!

halloumi good luck for Tuesday, and for Monday thattwat.

cloud glad you're starting to feel a little better, it must be very hard.

I'm off to a housewarming today, I might start to tell some friends - I feel a bit nervous about telling people for some reason. Not sure I'm ready to chat about it? But it is a good opportunity to tell people in person and the host (who already knew) has said it's fine.

Emwahs · 22/07/2017 12:51

pretzel good luck with the housewarming hope it goes well if you plan to tell people, I made my announcement in the week and it went down well with everyone which was nice, already been offered loads of baby stuff and being our first it will be helpful.

All the scans are coming in now and it's exciting!

thewhatoverthere my DH was away working so couldn't come to mind either but my mum came which was a nice experience for her. Today she is driving me insane as she runs a pub and is short staffed tonight so phoned me up asking if I can work, bearing in mind I am still suffering with headaches and exhaustion and I have made plans to see a best friend who lives away and have not seen for months for a quiet night in with curry and film she has put the biggest guilt trip on me you could ask for, (she is very good at that) I feel bad I do but I have already done almost 50 hours work this week and I am tired! Am I being selfish? Her words were well your leaving me in a mess and I know where your priorities lie!!

Sorry rant over, just want a little question answered, 90% of the times I stand up I get shooting pain in groin area I know it's a sign of round ligament pain but is this often normal?

Thattwatoverthere · 22/07/2017 13:18

Not selfish at all!! If you'd cancelled on her then maybe a different story but not your fault as far as I can see it!

I get the pains occasionally but mostly if I cough or sneeze when I'm lying down. Sometimes it's when I stand up too quickly though, have you tried to stretch a bit before you move? I'm sure I read that on google...

I've ordered maternity trousers Blush. Still not 100% if bump or bloat but my trousers just don't fit anymore, even my fat jeans are straining. Is it normal to be showing at 11 weeks on your first? I had a mmc last year at officially 6-7 weeks but can't imagine my body would have registered that too much size wise...

lookatthemoon · 22/07/2017 13:48

That - when I was about 12 weeks on my first I looked about 5 months. It turned out to be all bloat! But by the time it went away I was starting to show anyway ... Just get the stretchy pants ☺️ I'm basically living in yoga pants now ...

cloud30 · 22/07/2017 16:55

Working almost 50 hours already this week i would defo say no, your not being selfish at all!

not sure about the shooting pains sorry! now nausea is settled & eating again i definitely hav the bloat! everybody seems different when they start to show with bump! i had ketones rechecked today & all clear so happy with that!

hope everyone's having a good weekend x

EmilyK83 · 22/07/2017 20:50

Lovely scan, pretzel!

I too have had the shooting pains - also when sneezing while lying down! Seriously panicked me...

Have had my dad visiting this weekend (who knows I'm pregnant) - he commented that I look bigger. And I definitely have a bump, but considering what I've been eating, I'm pretty convinced it's food baby rather than baby baby...

Thattwatoverthere · 23/07/2017 00:23

I got the new maternity jeans delivered today and omg, so comfy! After baby I think these willl be my go to big dinner jeans. I'll never choose buttons again! The over bump work trousers are way too big but looking forward to being able to fill them out - just hopefully not too soon. My mum and OH are convinced it's a baby bump but considering I've been living on carbs and fruit to help the nausea I'm not too sure if it's not just me getting fat.

Now for new bras seeing as my current ones are now too small and actually a bit painful on the wire...

Ava1985 · 23/07/2017 09:18

Morning all!

Thanks for the welcome ladies. Lovely to see some healthy scan pics! Adorable!

I'm 10+2 today (give or take) and less than 2 weeks till scan now! I'm so excited/nervous! Had booking in appt few days ago and all seeming that bit more real now Shock Had a uti picked up on the test strip and had symptoms to go with it (Blurgh!) so have a 7 day course of antibiotics which seemed to have kicked in yesterday, thankfully! On the cranberry juice like it's proscecco Grin

Have a lovey day , ladies!

Ava1985 · 23/07/2017 09:24

I should say, waiting for lab results to confirm uti, but the test strip/symptoms indicate one. Just incase any of you ladies are/end up suffering the same (apparently common in pg) I think if it's picked up on test strip but your not having symptoms then it could be nothing still, like some discharge mixed in, which is also quite common apparently! X

emwithme · 23/07/2017 16:51

Ava my dip test at booking last week showed a UTI too. Just finished the antibiotics yesterday. Had absolutely no symptoms whatsoever.

I'm 12 weeks tomorrow, and recently the pains have been like the reverse of period pains, it's kind of weird to describe but where period pains feel like my womb is being scrunched up and released (like a stress ball being squeezed) this feels like a balloon or bag being blown up and stretched a little. I would imagine that's normal (never been this pregnant before) - the past four weeks have meant growth from the size of an olive to that of a lemon, so that's pretty substantial growth.

I keep worrying that at the scan next week it's going to show something wrong. We had a perfectly normal (private) scan at 8 weeks which showed an almost perfectly sized bean with a lovely strong heartbeat but since the MC I keep worrying and worrying and worrying that something has gone wrong and I've had a MMC and we're only going to find that out next week. And of course, my sickness has subsided in the past couple of days - logical me says it's because I'm nearly 12 weeks and this is good and normal, emotional me says "it's all gone to shit again".

EmilyK83 · 23/07/2017 17:27

You're not alone emwithme - am going through the same worries. To be honest I don't think I'll stop worrying until the scan...and then until I actually feel kicking...

babayagga · 23/07/2017 18:04

emwithme - my scan is next Saturday, and I have the exact same thoughts racing through my mind, despite a good 8-week scan.

Am trying a new strategy this weekend: in the absence of knowledge to the contrary, am going to assume everything is good and try actually to enjoy life for a change!

Emwahs · 23/07/2017 18:46

Emwithme your not alone I had a good 8 week and 12 week scan and still worrying things are going to go wrong. It's never ended

13+1 today and symptoms are starting to subside which I am panicing about but I know it's about now they things start to get better.

Thattwatoverthere · 23/07/2017 19:42

With you all on the worrying. Can't wait for my 12 week scan (at 11+4) tomorrow but so worried there'll be something wrong. My last one was good so hopefully it'll be ok. I just want a heartbeat and a decent measurement and I'll be able to relax for a few more days! Physically I do feel pregnant still but maybe we just won't stop worrying until they're here which isn't a thought I like much.

Although my mum told me today that on a check up she had with me when pretty far along in her pregnancy, the doctor told her that he couldn't find a head. This was in the days before seeing scan pics etc so she was kind of left to go along with it Confused. The next doctor she saw did find a head and I do definitely have one now so I'm hoping I don't get that doctor this time Grin

GingerRogers84 · 23/07/2017 20:11

I'm with you ladies, I'm worried that my scan on Wednesday will show an empty womb. 😨

In other news New Looks maternity leggings are life right now. It's like £15 for a pack of two. I know I'm not showing yet but the bloat is unreal and these prevent me from feeling and looking like I'm a bag of poo tied in the middle. 😂

It's a bit early I know but has anyone been looking into NCT classes versus NHS ones? If so what are people's thoughts?

Look forward to more scan pics ladies.

Ava1985 · 23/07/2017 20:15

thattwat I love the head story, hilarious 😂

Em glad you didn't have any symptoms with the uti and you've almost finished antib's. I've got till Friday on mine but symptoms have eased now they've kicked in, woo!

Hope all had a lovely and not too nauseous weekend! X
