boring - also, if you are having the Down's Syndrome test done together with the dating scan (which is standard), the window for that is 11-14 weeks, as far as I'm aware. So I agree with the others that you should insist to be seen earlier.

boringbetty · 19/07/2017 21:39

I rang them earlier and they said that's the earliest date they have got . I can keep ringing them to see if there is any cancellations but they are really backed up . Gunna ring the private scan tomorrow

pretzelpieces · 19/07/2017 22:41

boring that's not on, i hope you can get an NHS scan in the right time frame.

toomany sorry you're feeling so ill. Glad to hear the tablets seem to be helping.

ava welcome!

Congratulations to the lovely scans. Two more days for me to wait!

I actually tried on my smallest maternity jeans from last time and I can't get into them Blush next size ones I've got are too big. So I'm a scruff for now.

lookatthemoon · 20/07/2017 00:16

Wow it feels like so much has happened this week! Loving all the scan photos.

Welcome new folks - hugs to toomany and the others who are sick! When I was puking a couple of weeks ago I remember just feeling that I couldn't go on like that. Thankfully mine seems to have largely gone now except for some low level nausea. Hopefully it disappears for some more of us soon.

Is any else really forgetful now? I lost an ID card and an apple watch in the past week! 😳 Really unlike me.

lookatthemoon · 20/07/2017 02:19

Update! I just found my missing watch in a packet of nappies. The joy of having a 2 year old.

I am still super forgetful and a bit clumsy lately though ...

Scandalicity · 20/07/2017 06:46

Boring, definitely call & insist on an earlier date - are you having the combined test (bloods & scan)? If so, as babayagga said, you can't have that after 14 weeks. If you don't get anywhere, threaten to complain, or put in a PALs (NHS worker here!) that might help you! Good luck!

Binglesplodge · 20/07/2017 07:39

Boring: I'm sorry, that's a shocking wait for a scan. I had no idea they were so busy in some places that they would do that.

Not to rub it in, but I've got mine today at 11+4. Getting nervous now.

SofiePendragon · 20/07/2017 09:51

Betty making you wait until 15 weeks with at least 6 weeks notice is not acceptable and I'd encourage you to write a formal complaint to the hospital. You might also want to consider writing to your local Mp.

EmilyK83 · 20/07/2017 13:11

Boring that's not on at all!!! Hope you manage to get an earlier date...

Meanwhile, our landlord has sent someone round to do some work in our bathroom. Not great when I'm needing to wee every 5 minutes...my pelvic floor is getting a great workout...

TriJo · 20/07/2017 13:16

Boring Contact PALS at your hospital and file a complaint, also if there is any other hospital near you I'd consider contacting them and explaining the situation. Being forced to wait until 15 weeks is not on AT ALL.

boringbetty · 20/07/2017 14:07

Thanks for all the replays going to contact PALS when I finish work today see if they can help me out . In the meantime I have booked my private scan for next weds . I hadn't even heard of PALS before and would of just left it . So I really appreciate all the help Smile

RainyDayBear · 20/07/2017 19:40

Boring Glad you're chasing it up. Have you got a contact number for your midwife? They might be able to hurry it along, no way should you be having it outside that timeframe. Failing that, are there any other hospitals within the area you could be referred to? Our scan is at the small hospital a two minute drive away, has no maternity unit though so I won't be giving birth there. I didn't even know I could have my scans elsewhere until my midwife suggested it.

Hope everyone is well, my morning sickness has eased and although I still feel nauseous, I've kept down most of my food since Monday. I am eating like a pig though. So far today I had toast, two sandwiches, a snack bar, a bag of crisps, some skittles (left work at lunchtime to find some as words cannot describe how much I needed them!), a wrap and a bowl of pasta. I am actually quite ashamed, normally I eat three meals a day and don't snack, but I'm just ravenous!

Phew. Nice normal scan and a tap dancing baby. Due date shifted by a week tough so I'm technically January now...

babayagga · 20/07/2017 19:58

RainyDay - I'm with you on the eating front. My stomach is a bottomless pit. Cake Cake Cake I am worried about gaining lots of unnecessary weight.

Loxy4527 · 20/07/2017 20:08

Wow, boring I'd be outraged! I was really scared that my area would be oversubscribed, but I've actually been seen at every earliest opportunity. Hope you they sort it out for you.

Little mid holiday update! Currently in beautiful Brugge - totally been indulging in chocolate and waffles :D nausea has been blissfully absent for the most part. Though I've really noticed how tired I get now, DH has been great with making sure I get lots of sit downs. Helps that our hotel is really easy to get to so had a couple of mid-day naps Smile

I feel like I'm really showing now, it's going to be great to tell our parents on Sunday Grin We're going to gift them some souvenirs from Brugge then also present them with a book each, ones that they read to us when we were little.

LulusForest · 21/07/2017 09:02

Hi all, sorry I haven't been on the thread much as I've been on holiday on a remote Scottish island with very little phone signal or internet access!

Congrats to those who have had their 12 week scans already! I'll still have 3 weeks to wait for mine, which seems Iile so far away.

So I had a private scan last Wednesday, saw and heard the heartbeat, baby was measuring at 8+1 so pretty much what I thought based on ovulation date. I then had my booking appointment on Wednesday which was fine - she said I was very boring lol.

On Wednesday evening though I started having a small amount of brown discharge, which carried on into yesterday morning. It was only noticeable when I wiped (sorry TMI) and turned to more of a pinky tinged dishcharge. I haven't had any since yesterday afternoon, but this morning I've had some mild cramping and lower back ache. Not sure whether to call the midwife about this? Or will they just say not to worry because it was brown, not red?

TriJo · 21/07/2017 09:04

No harm in calling anyway I'd say Lulu. What's the worst they can say to you?

Toomanydogs · 21/07/2017 12:15

@Boring hope they can fit you in sooner, think I'd go mad waiting that long!
Had my dating scan yesterday confirmed EDD of 1st Feb! Heartbeat looks good and seems so much more real now we've seen little one and told people as well, baby spent most of the scan sat on bum with legs stretched out and arms over head lol. Actually feeling human for the first time in weeks, not been sick since Tuesday- new drugs are wonderful Grin.

EmilyK83 · 21/07/2017 12:36

Awwwww Toomany - what fab pics! Must've been an amazing experience!

Postman has just delivered my scan date...August 8th! Will be 12+6 by then...it seems like ages away but I know it's not!

Emwahs · 21/07/2017 12:42

Boring did you get anywhere contacting PALS? Fingers crossed you get seen sooner!

toomany I have woken up feeling human today! It's lovely. After a week of headaches they have finally subsided today! But now I go into panic mode as symptoms are reducing it's a loose loose situation!

My appetite is increasing and have an obsession for prawn cocktail crisps. But I still really need to fancy something before I eat it and apart from crisps and carbs there is not much I fancy!

DoTheFandango · 21/07/2017 12:48

Toomany what lovely scan photos (and glad you have excellent new drugs Grin ) I've got mine a week today, literally counting the days I just want to get there! Really hope all is ok because I can't wait to tell people!

SofiePendragon · 21/07/2017 13:04

I had my 12 week scan this morning. All looking good. Still feeling rubbish despite approaching 12 weeks. I've lost around 8kg in 4 weeks now, through having no appetite at all. Good thing I had some weight to spare at the beginning!

pretzelpieces · 21/07/2017 14:16

look Yes, me, I'm much clumsier than usual, partly due to tiredness I think! (I also have a toddler)

bingle, toomany and sofie great news about the scans.

rainy I'm eating tons as well. Think my pre bump is all toast.

Sorry you're feeling so ill sofie

boring good luck, i hope you get somewhere with your complaint.

lulu I would call and try to get checked out at EPU. Hope everything is OK.

My scan is at 3pm. Very anxious.

SofiePendragon · 21/07/2017 14:45

Good luck pretzel!

lookatthemoon · 21/07/2017 15:39

Good luck Pretzel! And congrats to everyone else who had scans. I had mine this morn. All good! Feels very real now.

Lulu - I would get it checked - even just for your own peace of mind. Hope all is well x

Emwahs - my morning sickness started reducing at 10 weeks and it really freaked me out (had it until 16 wks last time) but all is fine! Try not to stress.
