Scan was perfect!! So relieved!! Healthy heartbeat beating away, was so lovely to hear it, and measuring 8+6 which is perfect (9+1 from lmp but exactly 8+6 from Ov) Grin

Also called for 12 week scan today, which will be on 10th Aug when I'll be 13 weeks, or 12+5 iyswim! Exciting times!

Hope everyone else is well!!

SofiePendragon · 14/07/2017 16:51

Congratulations Scanda Glad all went well!

Butterful · 14/07/2017 17:04

Adding myself to this thread - I'm due 18th Feb.

EmilyK83 · 14/07/2017 17:43

Yayyyyyy Scandalicity so happy for you!!

And welcome Butterful!

I can't stop eating today. Went out and did a healthy food shop this morning...then went out this afternoon and bought chippie chips. That's after breakfast and lunch too. The bump I have so far is definitely food baby, rather than baby...

Scandalicity · 14/07/2017 17:46

Welcome butterful!

Emily i know that feeling - I have a wonderful food baby going on, hope it disappears & turns into real baby soon!!

boringbetty · 14/07/2017 20:48

Congrats scan . We told our parents today Smile . Feels more real now more people know

RainyDayBear · 15/07/2017 09:25

Yay Scandalicity that's great news!

My morning sickness is going from bad to worse. Yesterday at work I threw up in the classroom sink about a minute before Year 8 came in, it was a low point so far! People in the know at work are being lovely and sympathetic, and getting me food and drink on the lunch run as required. DP is being phenomenal, he is doing most of DD's bedtimes, getting up early with her daily, doing all the cooking and cleaning, and buying random foods to meet my every whim (which I then throw up!). It's all a bit rubbish, I know morning sickness is generally a good sign, but I can't wait for it to ease now! 9+2 today.

Hope everyone is doing well. I spent all of last night throwing up, what a fun way to spend a Friday night! Blush

Emwahs · 15/07/2017 10:40

Today i have woken up with a horrible headache and feeling sick. The husband is odd diving this morning so I get some peace and quiet to mope around. It looks like we are all suffering.

Got my 12 weeks scan Tuesday so can't wait for that. Unfortunately my DH will be working away so I am hoping I am allowed to face time him. They let me at the private scan but not sure about NHS. My mum is coming with me as well which will be nice although at the moment she doesn't seem to fussed over the pregnancy probably as other sister already has two daughters and it's pregnant with her third. Just hoping she gets excited soon. My husbands mum lives 400 miles away and is always asking how I am and if there is anything I need really wish she lived down here.

Also found out one of my oldest friends is pregnant with her first And due 2 weeks after me so it's nice we get to share things together.

lookatthemoon · 15/07/2017 14:00

Great news Scandal! Smile

Emwahs - I also have my 12 week scan on Tues!! Although I will only be 11 + 3.

lynzmb · 15/07/2017 15:51

Hey ladies, hope everyone is feeling ok today? I've slept for 3 hours this afternoon Blush
Has anyone else had pains which feel like a stitch? I'm getting them on and off in my right side. It's not agony but just a bit worrying.
Googled it (dangerous!) and seems to say it's stretching or round ligament pain?

OrangeCloud18 · 15/07/2017 16:02

Hi lyn, yes I have had these pains as well, mostly on my left side. It happened for a few days then stopped. My mum said it was normal as your uterus stretches. I've also had a scan since it happened and baby was fine so I would not worry too much unless you get spotting.

I am surviving on lemons and limes juicy water, bread, cucumber and ice lollies... OH is being really sweet and supportive but I need to go back to work Monday which I am dreading and I will have to tell my manager. Does anyone has any advice for nausea and vomitting?

EmilyK83 · 15/07/2017 16:03

Ahhh enjoy your 12 week scans ladies!

lynz yup you're not the only one - LH side for me. Until my booking in appointment on Tuesday and my 12 week scan (I'm 9+3 at the moment) I'm trying to tell myself that I don't need to panic unless I have severe pain or start bleeding...it's easier said than done, though! Google can be evil...

lynzmb · 15/07/2017 16:22

Thank you Emily and Orange. Trying not to worry, sure it's all normal but it's hard at this stage when it's your first time. Feel like a complete rookie!

Sorry you're feeling so sick Orange, nothing has really worked for me but I did get tablets from my lovely dr who also signed me off for a couple of weeks if that's an option for you? x

OrangeCloud18 · 15/07/2017 16:40

lynz Do you know what the tablets are? I will try to go to work on Monday and see how it goes but if it is really too bad I will try to find another way or stay at home for a bit...

lynzmb · 15/07/2017 16:54

Orange, they are called cyclizine. They work ok for the nausea but still get a bit of retching. And they make me super tired.

Hope you feel better soon Flowers x

Toomanydogs · 15/07/2017 19:18

@Orange I'm on promethazine (i think, packet is at home and I'm out)- they aren't making any difference though and am still being regularly sick, might go back to doctors see if there's anything else I can try.
Good luck and exciting times for everyone having scans this week, mine's on Thursday really pleased DP managed to get afternoon off work as they're really busy at the moment!

tobeornottobe1 · 15/07/2017 19:48

Hello ladies can I join please? Im a little over 8 weeks with my second and I have a rather embarrassing question sorry if TMI but has anyone felt swollen down below? Im starting to feel like pressure in my bottom and swollen maybe bulging down below, along side all the other aches n pains. I just cant remember whats normal or not Blush

cloud30 · 15/07/2017 19:53

Hope it's ok to join, i'm 9wk5, due Feb 12th by my calculation! Like a lot of others i've had a horrible previous pregnancy, I mc at 10wks (baby stopped growing at 7). 12wk scan on 4th Aug so counting down the days to that!

Pidgythe2nd · 16/07/2017 08:23

Those who are very sick, can recommend Ondansetron.
Doesn't give me any side effects. I think it may be more expensive to prescribe. Not sure!

I had a burst appendix during my last pregnancy as they initially thought I had severe morning sickness. I had various Iv drugs and the cyclizine side effects were not nice. I was like a drugged up zombie and not in a good way Hmm plus I was still sick!
They gave me ondansetron which worked, and a stash of tablets for once I left hospital. I didn't really need them by that point so still have them and they are in date, so have been taking them when it gets bad this pregnancy.

I know everyone is different but might be worth a try?

Emwahs · 16/07/2017 10:38

Welcome to all the newbies,

Today is not a good day. As time goes on I seem to be feeling worse just constant headaches and feeling sick. Not being sick but the way I feel today I don't think it will be long. My DH has been amazing again but he goes away Tuesday for two weeks so dreading having to cope on my own as well as going back to work tomorrow :-( (just had two weeks leave) I think if headache continues to tomorrow I may phone midwife, trying to drink loads of water but that does not seem to be helping.

Getting excited about scan on Tuesday tho least with all these symptoms I think baby penguin is thriving in there!

ChocChipCookie2 · 16/07/2017 11:14

So sorry for all of you being sick.

I've just booked my 4D gender scan for the 31st August and I'm so excited. I didn't do it with my ds because we didn't have time so I'm really pleased to be able to do it this time round.

TriJo · 16/07/2017 18:23

£10 maternity jeans in the H&M sale - score :)

Haven't felt too bad today, very little nausea. Hopefully this is the start of things getting better - 10 weeks tomorrow.

limomo82 · 16/07/2017 22:37

Ten weeks and I'm hopeful that the nausea is lifting. The tiredness on the other hand is awful and not helped by DS aged 3 was up for an unprecedented three hours last night.

Thattwatoverthere · 16/07/2017 23:17

Hope you're all doing ok!

I've been moving house this weekend and have done a fair amount of lifting heavy stuff. Now scared that I've done some harm as feeling a bit crampy. I have my 12 week scan a week tomorrow and it can't come quickly enough!!
