I had my booking and bloods done today . I am 8 weeks now . EDD 21st Feb . I'm very excited for my scan now and think we are going to tell DS tonight

limomo82 · 12/07/2017 15:45

Boring how old is DS? Mine is three. Let us know how it goes?

OrangeCloud18 · 12/07/2017 16:31

Tri I have called my GP surgery and they have rescheduled my booking in appointment for 28/07. They said that the midwife does not see you before 8 weeks.

EmilyK83 · 12/07/2017 17:04

Oh I'm so jealous of all these booking in appointments...mine's still 6 days away and I'll be pretty much 10 weeks by then! Sad

RainyDayBear · 12/07/2017 17:13

I'm already breaking out the maternity clothes as the bloating is ridiculous. Chatted to my boss at work who apologised for passing on that I was pregnant to his boss - he explained that it came up during a staffing conversation and they needed to know, he then explained the situation as the staffing affects me, and actually I completely see that he did really need to tell that person. I wasn't too fussed anyway, but was nice of him to explain the context.

DP just rang me from the shop as "I don't want to just guess what crisps you want." You can tell he's dealt with a pregnant woman before!!

Hi girlies, hope you're all good!
Had my booking in appt today (I'm 9+3) and she said I'm late, I should have come in last week at 8+ but at least I've been now! Booked 16+ week appt and she said my 12w scan letter will be in the post soon 😬
So desperately happy and excited but equally terrified 🙈

cookingbabydunc · 12/07/2017 18:08

I'm going to be 10+1 at my booking in app. I was also expecting it sooner but finally this Friday isn't too far away!!

GingerRogers84 · 12/07/2017 18:57

Suddenly wanting all the dairy things! I'm out of control! 😂 Mind you I've had an aversion to meat since becoming pregnant so it might be a need of protein.
I'm excited about 12 week scan but I'm scared there wont be anything there and I'm just getting tubby!
I'm wth ypou ladies on the clothes not fitting. So I bought a couple of cheap long vests from H&M and am leaving my top button on my skinny jeans undone for now. Such a relief! 😂

boringbetty · 12/07/2017 19:16

Limo my DS is three too . I told him a new baby will be coming to live at house he said we should call him baby Muffy and then no more was said about it . Think I'll explain more when I'm showing

toots123 · 12/07/2017 20:32

Sorry I haven't been around much, struggling with nausea and sickness along with lack of sleep thanks to DD.
Struggling to find things I want to eat but I wasn't sick today so fx it's going now

Pidgythe2nd · 12/07/2017 21:32

Think I might need to get my maternity clothes down from the loft! Can definitely feel the top of my uterus now just poking above my pubic bone but the constant eating is the main cause I think. I've put of 5-6 pounds already. Confused
What (if any) should I have put on by week 10?!! Bit worried!!
But only 12 days until my scan so it's all getting quite real in a good way too!

Emwahs · 12/07/2017 22:52

MistyB your midwife obviously likes you in early mine was not till almost 11 weeks and she did not seem to fussed!

I am having a lot of stretching pains as well especially last few days along with a lot of discharge so wondering whether I should say anything to midwife or if it's normal, done a lot of sailing the last couple of weeks so maybe it's baby penguins way of telling me to slow down.

SquintySquirrel · 12/07/2017 23:12

Emwahs I've been the same this week with the stretching pains and extra discharge - had some very sharp pains on my right side also but have booking appt tomorrow and I'm 8 weeks so will mention to her!

RainyDayBear · 13/07/2017 08:28

Ugh I feel bloody awful today, have thrown up everything I've eaten since yesterday afternoon and have a stonking headache from the dehydration! Somehow I've dragged myself into work, as I had time off last week, thankfully I've a really quiet day.

Apologies for the whinge but I'm feeling incredibly sorry for myself!

Oh Rainy, that doesn't sound much fun - sending you big hugs! Little and often, both with the water and the food - hope you feel better soon!

TriJo · 13/07/2017 10:32

A bloke sat beside me on the train this morning absolutely reeking of strong aftershave and I nearly got sick. Damn the pregnancy super nose!

Loxy4527 · 13/07/2017 11:57

Hey everybody! Hit 9 weeks today, (finally a fetus!) which has cheered me up. Been a bit of a blabber mouth lately, on top of the bosses told three more close friends. Gotta wait over a week to tell the parents as DH wouldn't let me tell them separately and that's the earliest we could all meet.

Been much better since Sunday, still occasionally retching in the morning but generally good. Excited for the official scan but got a little holiday in between to pass the time. Potentially the last one abroad for me and DH for a long time.

lookatthemoon · 13/07/2017 12:41

Sorry to hear you feel so horrible Rainydaybear - those days are the worst!

I went for dinner tonight and put on a dress that I wear all the time and it is suddenly too tight! SadNot sure if I have put on heaps of weight or just my boobs and belly are so bloody big and bloated now.

bluechameleon · 13/07/2017 16:09

I took the day off yesterday because I had a terrible headache and it was going to be a 13hr day so I just couldn't face it. I feel really guilty though that I missed awards evening (which I was partly responsible for organising).
On the plus side I had my blood tests today and it was great - the midwife did it and I was in and out in 10 mins. Last pregnancy I had to queue up for hours at the blood clinic.

RainyDayBear · 13/07/2017 16:43

Thanks ladies, feel a bit better now. One of the guys got me some lemonade at lunch which I managed to keep down. This is the bonus of some work people knowing, they are all very sympathetic and keep offering food!

Hi girlies. I'm dreading telling people in work with me 😩 when I was pg in Feb, I told my bosses and a few of my close colleagues when I was about 5 weeks as I'd just taken a job unsuitable for pregnancy (incredibly high stress job!) and everyone in my department knew I'd taken it so I then had to back out and say I'd changed my mind. My bosses barely wanted to keep me after I'd said I was leaving lol so I had to give them the real reason. Then of course I had the mc... had 6 weeks off work, came back, the entire floor knew what had happened. Nobody could look me in the eye and even the CLEANER stopped me in the car park and said nice to have you back love, sorry about what happened. Ffs like 😂🙈 so this time, I just want it to be my own secret, I don't want them all knowing again 😳 but I'm obligated to tell them at 12w so I'm going to enjoy this next 3 weeks of privacy x

lookatthemoon · 13/07/2017 21:29

Misty - totally understandable that you hate telling work. When you say you are obligated to tell them at 12 weeks, that probably just means you must tell your 'employer'. You can tell your boss and insist that nobody else be told except HR etc. I did that last pregnancy. I only told colleagues when I felt ready.

I accepted a new job last Nov, told them I was pregnant at interview and then started to mc days before starting the job. Was horrible so I know how you must feel.

Scandalicity · 14/07/2017 07:32

I agree misty, you can ask they don't tell anyone else until you're ready (or can't hide it any more!). I did tell my boss straight away, they knew about the ectopic & I needed to have an early location scan with this one, so knew I would need time off for that, midwife booking & 12 week scan, and I did give permission for her to tell her boss, but they are the only 2 who know until I'm ready to tell everyone else.

Scan this morning at 9+1 - feeling nervous Blush

Loxy4527 · 14/07/2017 08:18

I think I'd be wanting to keep in secret after that experience, misty. Hopefully it'll all go smoother this time :)

Good luck for your scan today, scandalicity!

EmilyK83 · 14/07/2017 08:20

Don't blame you for wanting to keep it a secret, Misty - enjoy the next few weeks!

Good luck with the scan Scandalicity - exciting!!
