@Beardy1 - I've calmed down a lot on pure ab exercises too. Ab work is now limited to core focus (think planks rather than crunches) and weight lifting (can't help but engage when bench / shoulder pressing or deadlifting, for example!). And I think the antenatal yoga and Pilates classes I've just signed up for should help too with keeping a good strong core 😊

dirtygrubbybikerchick · 25/06/2017 09:39

Thinking of you @Peachi82 x

alphasox · 25/06/2017 10:20

First post! I'm a bit late to the party I know... but just saying hello. Can I join you? My EDD is New Years Eve, but hoping it will come earlier as my first son did!

Lixon · 25/06/2017 10:27

You're doing so well in a really tough situation peachi, thinking of you. I hope you make it back ok and feel like you can put work off a bit longer if you need to. We're all here if you want to vent xx

Good luck today Steph, can't wait to hear the outcome!

TipTop I am exactly the same, at 15w4 just woke up today not feeling very pregnant, boobs look a bit smaller and stomach not as bloated. I hope it's just the bump thing mentioned above 🤞

I've been having lots of painful stabbing pains which I hope are just round ligament pain.. I went to my first pregnancy yoga class yesterday and met my first MNetter (leighdinglady!) and had a pregnancy massage courtesy of a friend, now plan to do very little today apart from make bathroom decisions..

Lixon · 25/06/2017 11:01

Welcome alphasox! We also have a private Facebook group if you want to join at any point, you can pm me or a number of other posters your email address and we can add you 🙂

Zaberwocky · 25/06/2017 11:02

Obviously this is mainly for Brens who I'm sure is on a shopping rampage Wink

John Lewis baby sale isn't half bad! I've got a few fun looking bits from there. I even found a delightful seagull jumper for when we visit the coast Grin

CarlottaJo · 25/06/2017 11:23

Thinking of you @Peachi82 xxxxx

CarlottaJo · 25/06/2017 11:24

We're going to head to Mamas and Papas today, our first baby outing! If I can get up, nightshifts have absolutely killed me this time, think I'll avoid 4 in a row for rest of pregnancy x

BeeMama2017 · 25/06/2017 12:45

@peachi so so sorry to hear about your dad. Make sure you take time to heal and process what's happened, even if you think you want to go back to work and feel normal. I lost my mum 18 months ago and it still doesn't feel real. If you ever want to talk or anything, send me a pm Flowers

I think I felt bean moving today but not sure as I've also had a terrible belly this week and it could just be wind!

Thanks for the tip @zaber, going to get some maternity bits today, I can't deny anymore that my belly is too big for my clothes now lol

Zaberwocky · 25/06/2017 13:03

Bee I'm so glad it's not just me who can't tell the difference between wind and movement!

Have a lovely shopping trip Smile my mum took pity on me and bought me a lovely maternity dress up yesterday. I think you do feel you look a thousand times better when you're not trying to squeeze into your old clothes.

Brens13 · 25/06/2017 13:51

Haha thanks zaber I'll Defo be in John Lewis next weekend so might have to not just window shop and buy a few bits too. My only baby purchase this week has been a yellow plastic folder for my maternity notes 😂 so I'm Defo owed some cuter purchases. A seagull jumper sounds perfect!

I also have no idea what "flutterings" or prods and pokes will feel like so at the moment I'm just assuming anything is stretching or dodgy tummy. Also have a front placenta so may take longer to feel any kicks etc when the time comes.

ScotsLamb · 25/06/2017 14:24

Hi all

Peachi thinking about you. You can always take more time later on if you need to.
Alphasox welcome! Prepare yourself for lots of food chat and boy chat! Think we only have a couple of girls amongst the wave of blue and yellow.

I've been keeping up with the abs workout by lying on the couch and reaching for my glass of milk. That counts, right?

Sickness and nausea has disappeared today (I am bang on 14 weeks today). I am hoping it was just aiming to go out with a bang and I won't have anymore... Heartburn is here though so maybe it is just that I haven't eaten enough today.
My broadband is down at home which means no internet (my mobile doesn't get signal in our remote area) so I am at the in laws but the dog smells... must grin and bear it until my marking is done.

What is Sunday dinner for everyone today?

Royalsteph · 25/06/2017 15:41

Well after having a baby that kept it's legs closed. I had to go drink lucozade and do star jumps in the car park. Baby is a little girl ❤ still in shock, but that might be the lucozade wearing off

Zaberwocky · 25/06/2017 15:53

Royal Grin I am so sorry but that is the most hilarious thing I have ever read. Congratulations!

Brens13 · 25/06/2017 15:55

Congratulations royalsteph exciting news! I'm surprised your little one didn't get hiccups like mine did 😂

dirtygrubbybikerchick · 25/06/2017 16:16

Yay @Royalsteph ! 😄

Mrsbluebell17 · 25/06/2017 16:20

Welcome alpha!

Yay Steph! Congrats on the girlie!

dirtygrubbybikerchick · 25/06/2017 17:26

And yay @Neoflex too! 😄 starting to gain more balance now between blue and pink camps 😜

Carley27 · 25/06/2017 18:13

Congratulations Steph!! Team pink making a comeback?! 💕

Good news on the sickness/nausea Scots, long may it continue! Sunday dinner for us is takeaway.. just trying to decide what I fancy!

Welcome alpha ☺️** how is your pregnancy going so far?

Peachi hope you're as ok as possible under the circumstances. Definitely take it easy returning to work, I know for some people it's beneficial to get back and have something to focus but don't push yourself. 💐

My skin is still awful 😤 every time I think it's getting better it just gets worse again. Anyone found anything that's helped?

Carley27 · 25/06/2017 18:15

Neoflex missed your post on the other thread (and if it's also on this thread I've missed it twice 😳), huge congrats on your little girl 🎀 knew there must be some little ladies here somewhere!

dirtygrubbybikerchick · 25/06/2017 18:18

@Carley27 - sort of. Apparently, and rather counter-intuitively, we should scrub less and instead use a gentle acne-focused cleanser, non-alcoholic toner, and light facial oil (no. 7 has a nice one). Scrubbing too much and removing oil from skin too dramatically apparently just makes the skin produce even more oil, and it becomes a vicious circle. I've found the above helpful for my skin.

Mrsbluebell17 · 25/06/2017 19:00

Congrats neoflex too! Saw your post on the other thread Grin. Did you have any inklings before?

Carley my skin keeps going through phases too. Not found anything that works yet! Thankfully the spots don't hurt now as much as they did at first!

Anyone else struggling with portion sizes now? I can only eat half my usual portion at any one time now, and keep having to have a break for ten mins then I can carry on and eat the rest! Shock I have a very healthy appetite usually so this is a shock to the system x

alphasox · 25/06/2017 19:06

Thanks for the welcome. Gosh there's so much to keep up with.

@carley27 my pregnancy so far has been mostly sick and nausea and exhausted but now 13 weeks and having more good days than bad so fingers crossed the worst is over! Thanks for asking x

@MrsBluebell17 I'm the same - I think due to my nausea. I eat often but small portions like, half a sandwich, half a jacket potato and just feel stuffed.

Brens13 · 25/06/2017 19:30

bluebell I definitely am eating smaller portions, but then am hungry again shortly after so probably still nearly eating the same amount.

Great news on all the girls catching up with the boys. Tho as a team yellow it was starting to convince me we must be having a girl, now I'm back to sitting on the fence lol.

MontyPants · 25/06/2017 19:38

Carley you need Elemis's lavender toner. It's a godsend. They also do an amazing facial oil to use like a moisturiser, but it's in a tiny bottle and about £45 so maybe not the best to purchase pre-baby! The toner isn't too expensive and I use it every day and each bottle lasts me 6 months.
