I've started the nursery (almost there) but haven't bought any big items yet. Just a few clothes here and there!! Might get the pram on Saturday.. maybe.. I'm so reluctant to commit to it Shock

Bisquick · 10/08/2017 07:59

Thanks MrsBluebell.

We have most of our bits and bobs - cot, pram etc. Still need to buy/make clothes but that'll happen in October I think. Need to give myself something to do for when I'm too fat to leave the house :P

How about you?

I know what you mean about FB, but I think these days this group is all I take a peek at on there anyway.

MontyPants · 10/08/2017 11:27

All good thanks Bluebell and I hope you are too? No new restaurants but I'll let you know if I come across anything. I do love to eat!
I've got loads of stuff now. Cot, clothes, nappies, blankets. Just need a pushchair and car seat, and some socks and mittens. But the cot is not assembled yet and the "nursery" is just a room full of boxes at the min! DH has his next few weekends booked up to crack on with that.

Pip1988 · 10/08/2017 18:34

Hi, I've been reading thread here for a while but would like to join Facebook group. I'm due on the 25th December (!) expecting our first baby, a little boy!

Mrsbluebell17 · 10/08/2017 21:01

Great to hear back from you all. We've nearly finished our nursery but yet to buy the cot or pram. Both might happen in the coming weeks I think. So so exciting.

Mrsbluebell17 · 11/08/2017 00:58

Is it just me that's struggling to sleep at the moment or is anyone else getting that too? Hmm

Miami81 · 11/08/2017 06:23

Mrs
I can't sleep. Like at all. I manage to get to sleep at around 11 most nights, then up at 2 for a pee and then up at 4 for a pee. At the 4am wake up for the last week I am then just awake. Like totally awake. I know I am tired and I am properly struggling during the day. But sleep is not my friend at the moment. It is utterly shit. Sorry you are experiencing this too.
I seem to be waking up with properly racing heart though. Have mw on Wednesday so will talk to her about it.

Mrsbluebell17 · 11/08/2017 08:03

Miami I'm very similar. Sorry to hear you're experiencing this. Let me know what the midwife says?

fishfingerSarnies · 11/08/2017 14:09

Can't sleep either my back is agony in bed but fine once I've been up for an hour or so.

Last day of holiday for me before back to raining old Cardiff... actually no idea what the weathers like as I haven't checked the weather. Trying to get the kids back into a routine is going to be hell they have been up until midnight most nights and having epic day time naps while I sun myself in peace with a book. Ahh I'm going to miss it.

wednesdayrobyn · 11/08/2017 14:14

Hi, Bit late in signing up but hope I can join? I'm 23+5 team blue! This is our first.

Really struggling this week with a bad back and leg cramps but DH bought me a maternity pillow that seems to be helping now I'm used to it.

I've also just sign up for one of the mothercare expectant parent evenings, has anybody else been to one? Are they any good?

tuxedocat · 11/08/2017 16:14

I'm still checking every now and then, I suppose we are all sailing through getting larger and larger!

wednesday I went to one ages ago when I was around 14 weeks and felt like a fraud as I wasn't showing at all, I've popped a little now at 23 and was tempted by the discount code as we want to buy a sleepyhead, but not sure I can be bothered? I did try a sneaky google as I'm sure the code is generic but can't find one haha.
I found the car seat talk useful and that was all, we already know what pram we want so didn't learn a lot

Mrsbluebell17 · 11/08/2017 19:18

Welcome Wednesday. I also went to a mothercare event, like tuxedo I found the discount code, and car seat talk very useful and also the little freebie bag was exciting at the time. Worth going to I think, when I went there was a sale on too so we got a few bits and pieces. It was useful to be able to ask people about things without any time pressures.

ScotsLamb · 13/08/2017 09:58

We are hoping to make the next Mothercare event as we've been on holiday during this lot.
Drive back from Cornwall yesterday. 12 hours!!! Argh! Won't be doing that with a baby next year.
20 week scan is tomorrow and I'm back at work after 7 week summer holidays. Eek. Not sure what I'm most worried about. Scan or back at work...
I'm struggling to get to sleep then when I make up (5,6,7) I can't get back to sleep. I've always prided myself on being able to have epic long lies. Maybe this is my body getting ready for baby.

fishfingerSarnies · 13/08/2017 19:35

Scan tomorrow. We were planning on staying team yellow but I'm not sure now.
We are having to take both kids with us which is a bit of a pain!

MerlinsLeftButtock · 13/08/2017 23:34

Hi, hope it's ok to join in. I'm 23 weeks tomorrow, with my second bean-- a girl this time. My son is 6... I'm in the south of England ... so hi 👍🏻🙂

Miami81 · 14/08/2017 06:00

Good luck with scans fishfingers and scotslamb. Hello merlin. Welcome to the thread.

ScotsLamb · 14/08/2017 07:00

Thanks Miami. 4 hours of work first!
Welcome Merlin. How are you?

Bisquick · 14/08/2017 08:01

Hello merlin and welcome! And good luck for the scans fishfingers and ScotsLamb

fishfingerSarnies · 14/08/2017 08:36

I'm just so uncomfortable all the time it's really getting me down. My stomach aches and won't relax (but that might be the sickness bug have had for the past few days) my back is agony. Barely slept lovely dh let me have a lie in this morning but I wasn't really asleep just tossing and turning and when I got up I just sobbed and sobbed. Sitting in the bath now as it's the only place I don't feel in pain. Feeling sick still and sorry for my self. Right moan over fingers crossed all is ok at the scan and that cheers me up for the rest of the day.

Miami81 · 14/08/2017 09:51

Oh fishfingers thanks for your post. I have been feeling like a total wimp about the whole thing as I just don't feel that I was prepared to be this uncomfortable. I already waddle, I think I will speak to mw on Wednesday about whether I have spd. I am in agony every time I stand up and the smallest tasks just seem so difficult right now. The thoughts of another 20w of this just make we want to cry.
But we can do this, maybe it's just a massive growth spurt stage or something and it will calm down over time. All the best today.

MerlinsLeftButtock · 14/08/2017 10:31

Thank you for the welcome. 🙂

Really feel for you Miami and fishfingers. I was in so much pain with my first, from 16 weeks till the end! Really hope it eases for you. Had crippling hip pain from about 8 weeks this time, but for some miraculous reason it eased off by week 17. I was fully prepared for another pregnancy of torture.

Hope all scans go well! Feeling a little jealous, I have no more scans on the horizon 😭

Brens13 · 14/08/2017 12:26

Good luck today fishfingers and hope you and miami can find some comfort soon.

Welcome Merlin, and congratulations! We also have a private Facebook group which gets much more traffic now if you would like to join, totally up to you of course. If you would like to just PM me your email address and I'll get an invite sent out :)

wednesdayrobyn · 14/08/2017 13:03

Tuxedo and Bluebell Thanks for the feedback, we haven't looked at car seats yet so sounds like it could be of use! Fishfingers & Miami hope you can find some comfort soon. I had crippling back backache around week 17 and had to take 4 days off work, my back still hurts but i can get on with most everyday stuff without thinking of it too much so fingers crossed its just temporary and eases off for you too. How do i join the facebook group?

Brens13 · 14/08/2017 14:40

Wednesday you can PM me and I can add you to the facebook group :)

MerlinsLeftButtock · 14/08/2017 16:15

Thanks for adding me Brens. I'll have a nosey in a bit Grin
