Still awake.. think I'm gonna just get up and try to nap later!

CarlottaJo · 20/07/2017 10:30

I considered it too @glastogal but ended up going back to sleep and having bad dreams. What is life 🙈

ScotsLamb · 20/07/2017 10:43

I'm on the countdown today. 156 days until due date.
Maximum of 170 days left of daft dreams, lack of sleep not caused by something super cute, nausea, food aversions and anxiety about the unknown!!

CheesecakeAddict · 20/07/2017 11:26

glastogirl fingers crossed for the scan. And I hope you manage to get some proper sleep afterwards.

carlotta did you manage to get some decent sleep?

I was so exhausted yesterday that I may have gone to bed at 8. Only for Baby to start kicking my bladder so I was back and forth to the toilet every 5 mins for the next hour Sad.

glastogal · 20/07/2017 12:53

Hey cheesecake - scan went well thanks! All is as it should be Grin and I ate lunch and cake to celebrate. Definitely considering a nap now though.. eyelids are heavy

Glad you got an early night (even if baby tried to ruin it Wink) are you feeling better today??

CheesecakeAddict · 20/07/2017 15:19

Much better! Did you manage to get tour nap?

glastogal · 20/07/2017 17:41

I did thanks but I have woken up feeling sick so I guess I'm still tired (although I did treat myself to cake, so it could be that Wink)

Peachi82 · 20/07/2017 17:57

I wish I had cake! Mmmmmmmmmh.

Mrsbluebell17 · 20/07/2017 19:32

Hope you're both ok Carlotta and glasto! I was awake a lot of last night too with some pains and discomfort.

Scanxiety is a great word glasto - totally describes how I've been feeling about next week! Glad to hear your scan went well today!!

Jivebunny89 · 20/07/2017 21:33

Told my dad this afternoon. He's a typical Yorkshireman and remained underwhelmed.

"Hi dad, you're going to be a grandad!"
"Oh God. Oh hell."

Not the response I was hoping for, but he quickly warmed to the idea and is now "really thrilled".

fishfingerSarnies · 20/07/2017 21:43

Ha ha jive
I told my dad a few weeks ago and he said "deliberately?" I guess he can't understand why we'd have a 3rd on purpose.
Although the way my son has been behaving recently I'm maybe starting to wonder that myself!

Bisquick · 21/07/2017 05:40

Hello all! Been off MN for a couple of weeks, just catching up on this thread!
Has everyone started feeling movements already? I'm almost 18 weeks but haven't consistently felt anything yet.

Have our scan this afternoon and feeling so so nervous. Scanxiety is a perfect description glastogal. Anyone else having a scan today?

ScotsLamb · 21/07/2017 06:41

Bisquick I'm almost 18 weeks with my first and not felt anything. My OH lies with his hand on my tummy every morning in case it moves but no chance!
My scan isn't until 14t August. Good luck!

Carley27 · 21/07/2017 09:29

18+2 and no movement yet here - thank you anterior placenta Hmm

Good luck for upcoming scans :)

I almost persuaded myself that I felt movement on Tuesday night. Actually no idea now if it was wind or not and nothing since. 17+5. Nothing in my notes about location of placenta, so it's just a game of wait and see.
At the pre term clinic again on Tuesday for a cervical length scan, they seemed pretty certain should be fine, but because of all the bleeding between 5-13 weeks and my odd uterus shape they are just being cautious. Hoping we get a good view of baby then.
I feel very strange today though, kind of hollow if that even describes a feeling. Yesterday was all fanny daggers so maybe odd feelings today are just the recovery from that.
All the best anyone with scans. Is this anomaly bisquick? I hope it is smooth sailing for you.

Bisquick · 21/07/2017 14:51

Not quite an anomaly scan - I'm 17+4 weeks today, but having scans every 2-3 weeks anyway. Will have another more detailed one at 20 weeks but this was nice and peaceful. Got to see the little one wriggling around and yawning which was fun!

CheesecakeAddict · 21/07/2017 19:25

OMG yawning! That's so adorable.

So I tried to go swimming this afternoon and I managed 40 mins with 20 mins of that I can only describe as having glass rubbed up and down my nipples. I don't think I'll be repeating that in a hurry.

Mrsbluebell17 · 21/07/2017 19:45

Glad your scan went well bisquik! That's good to be getting scanned that often, must be a reassurance.

I keep feeling the occasional thing that I think is movement but nothing overly regular yet and I'm coming up for 20 weeks. Anomaly scan next week so looking forward to some reassurance then.

Cheesecake I take my hat off to you, exercise is totally out of the window for me!!! I'm lame I know. I feel a lot better nowadays but still so tired!

ScotsLamb · 21/07/2017 23:55

Cheesecake my nipples are so unhappy when it is cold. I have to cup them to warm them up. I've started putting nipple cream on them to try and make them more robust! Your description is perfect!

Peachi82 · 22/07/2017 16:38

I slept two hours on the couch last night, then had a shower, went to bed, slept from 10 to 7. I feel like a new human being!
I had the energy to dust the whole house today, currently washing the third load of washing. And will go food shopping in a bit and cook tonight. I would have never thought that I will ever have energy like this again in my lifetime. I thought I'll be confined to the couch for the rest of my life. Haha.

CheesecakeAddict · 22/07/2017 17:05

Excellent news peachi

Does anyone else get a weird taste in their mouth? It's not metallic but tastes horrible so much so that it puts me off eating. I wonder if all the sickness has finally wrecked my teeth...

Mrsbluebell17 · 22/07/2017 18:08

That's fab peachi! Enjoy your new found energy!

Cheesecake sorry but I can't really help you with that one, I did have that at first but not anymore. Hope it passes soon for you. Have you tried a mouthwash (a no alcohol one im guessing) to see if that helps?

CheesecakeAddict · 22/07/2017 20:49

Hmmm I'm not sure, use mouthwash every day, but I might try that next time and see if it helps.

It's just super annoying that I am in the last month of my second trimester and still having first trimester symptoms. I work with 4 other women who are pregnant - more or less due around December, give or take a month, who all seem to love pregnancy and talk about how fantastic they feel, whereas I just spent another evening getting a face full of vomit and toilet water splash-back. Don't get me wrong, I love the fact that I am pregnant, me and my OH had a long and rocky journey to get this far, but I would just like maybe 1 month of not feeling like utter shite, if that is not too much to ask for.

Peachi82 · 22/07/2017 21:37

Aww, cheesecake, I'm so sorry :-(
I would also suggest mouth wash or some mints? Just something to take the taste away?
My last puke was less than a week ago and yeah, despite the energy that I'm having today, I was wondering what everyone means with the easiest trimester. Also still missing the ominous glow. Glow my arse haha.
Just try and get through it, not everyone has an easy or dream pregnancy, everyone is different. And I'm pretty sure it's OK not to like it, even though there seem to be more women who really seem to enjoy being pregnant.

Annie1290 · 23/07/2017 11:51

cheesecake totally with you. My sickness has never disappeared, I'm still taking daily tablets to control it and sometimes that doesn't even work. I spent 3 hrs awake last night with the most painful backache and bloating/gas pain. Tell me again when I start blooming?! My sympathies are with you!
