Maybe that could be new thread title folks.

"See you at the hacineda"
"The hacienda - we're all mad for it!!!"
"Heavily pregnant ladies "do" the hac"

Emmymummy · 22/03/2007 18:01

Crikey it's taken me hours to catch up - you can tell you lot have started ML. Still have a week and a bit left at work and have just about had enough now. No-one there seems to have grasped the concept that I'm attempting to wind down things a bit. Still, started my handover with my ML cover today, so hopefully I can step back a bit next week and let her take things on. Not easy as I am a complete control freak and find it hard to accept that anyone could possibly do my job as well as me. . I'm sure I'll get over it within 5 minutes of walking out of the door on my last day.

Welcome to all the new ladies - can't quite believe how many new names have appeared on this thread.

Am knackered really - awake since 4am and just about ready to drop. DH is buying something really tasty & quick for supper (so he tells me) - hopefully he'll be home shortly and can start the process of getting Em ready for bed. Meanwhile I am slopping off for a lie-down .

Can someone please hurry up and have a baby - this is getting ridiculous!

babysopiniontakesover · 22/03/2007 18:04

MIABT - its now flats is it i can't believe it!!

Elliek - very jealous of your youth I feel really quite old now.

And yeh - newly delivered god what an even worse thought aaaahhhh no. No no no.

octopussyinyummyeastereggs · 22/03/2007 18:19

Hello all - have been busy being good mummy and housewife LOL - all fed, dh tea ready, tidied out the 'spare drawer' (dumping ground for toys with no home and any other crap they shove in it!), hoovered and dusted playroom - do I get an award??

Welcome to Lesley - when are you due?

I never went to the Hacienda - but did go to the Fridge and danced on a table with loads of gay guys in my bra ROFL! Can just see me doing that now Those were the flat tummy days - Maveta will def be able to return to her previous life , but my tummy will never be flat enough again - and its tankinis on the beach for me from now on!

I was thinking about raspberry leaf tea but really dislike herbal tea - may have a look for some tablets or go down the sex route!

GMM - if you want to have yours first - go ahead - we're not fussy - just want a baby to arrive! LOL

babysopiniontakesover · 22/03/2007 18:23

Lol - lets all reveal our most embarassing nights out pre-kids and pre-pregnancies, I could think of a fair few. Oh to be young(er) again.

Emmymummy · 22/03/2007 18:27

Oh my goodness Opinions, wouldn't, couldn't even dream of telling anyone about some of the nights out I had in my late teens & 20s. there's things about me that even dh doesn't know (and i've known him since I was 19). No way. no how.

octopussyinyummyeastereggs · 22/03/2007 18:27

Oh that doesn't even register on the embarassing scale - not even a blush for that one!

octopussyinyummyeastereggs · 22/03/2007 18:32

How about pregnancy embarassment moments instead? Here goes...

  1. Before knew was pg, was at the beach waiting for the loo and a lady with a broken leg asked when I was due - most indignantly told her I wasn't pg and it was just my shape {blush]
  1. Farting at the sainsburys delivery man
  1. Stopping a car on a street in Bath - yes, hailing them down - to tell them they were driving the wrong way down a one way street when they weren't
babysopiniontakesover · 22/03/2007 18:34

Octo and Emmy to both of you oh the SHAME.

Never mind late teens I think my carried on until late twenties though I am pretty sure they calmed down just a bit.

And come on Emmy sill the beans - anything to bring back those "good" memories lol. And shame on not even dp knowing, I know where you are coming from there!?!

Emmymummy · 22/03/2007 18:40

LOL Octo, especially the farting!

Opinions - uh uh (shakes head). Lets just say I went to lots of army parties, and army boys are very baaaaaaad!

babysopiniontakesover · 22/03/2007 18:44

Army boys - oh er missus!!

Octo - "telling sm off" thats the sort of thing I would do lol cannot seem to stop myself.

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 22/03/2007 18:51

God, let's not go there with the embarrassing/naughty behaviour. I am afraid I would score very highly there, as have been a bad girl even since being a mother.

Octo, I remember you telling us about your farting incident!

LesleyR · 22/03/2007 19:06

Been eating dinner prepared by DH while you guys have been sharing embarrassing stories.

Surely the best ones (pre-pregnancy) are the ones that you only vaguely remember. I have a horrid habit of saying exactly what I'm thinking good or bad after a few too many. My friends think it's v. entertaining and call it the "point and go" effect i.e they point me in the direction of someone irritating and watch me go!

Octo - I'm due on 9th April. Easter Monday. It's no coincidence I'm starting to feel like an egg with legs!

YvieE · 22/03/2007 19:08

Welcome Lesley and Bumble

Liath - echo Katy44 re: mindreader - it was on my list of things to ask - rasberry leaf tea that is, even asked the MW today who said it can't hurt. So i take it from all the comments that rasberry leaf tea tastes nothing like rasberry tea?

Had AN appt today 35+5, everything is fine, 3/5 engaged. MW asked me to make an appt with my GP for 38 weeks and then with her for 40 weeks - i thought after 37 weeks you were seen every week?????

Still at work with a list as long as my arm - but only half a day to go

Emmymummy · 22/03/2007 19:11

Oooo SOSPL - would love to share some stories with you - am intrigued about your post-baby behaviour too! Maybe at the next meet up?. Lesley, definately with your on the best ones being only vaguely remembered - they are also the ones where you think 'oh shit, I did what?'.

babysopiniontakesover · 22/03/2007 19:49

Wow for once I go away and come back and there hasn't been a million posts.

Have just taken my first raspberry leaf and am feeling very positive lets just hope that they work miracles!!

If anyone feels the need to enlighten us with their embarrassing moments then please don't be shy I could do with cheering up.

twinkle183 · 22/03/2007 20:01

Feeling pretty miserable girls so decided to start trying the remedies to encourage this little bundle of joy out...

So, far have tried pineapple, raspberry leaf tea which made me feel as sick as a parrot.. so I approached dh on the sex issue and he agreed that I was being really miserable to last night as we were getting in to it! We had to stop cos the baby decided to punch him in the stomach.. I couldn't stop laughing at him but he didn't see the funny side...

Anyone know of any other natural remedies???

I know I shouldn't be moaning but uncomfortable is not the word!! Am engaged though by 3/5 so I guess its not all bad!!!

Hope everyone is well and not as miserable as me??

hensden · 22/03/2007 20:07

oooh nooo glad to hear others have had "colourful pasts" I sometimes wonder what am I going to say to dc when they're becoming wayward teenagers, when I've probably done the same or worse.

Does anyone know any keep baby in tricks, I've got so much decorating to do I need those extra couple of weeks, I'm keeping well away from the raspberry leaves

Welcome yet more newies, join the party..

And dilating vibes to all who want them

oooggs · 22/03/2007 20:17

lady lush - dont bet on popping early - I am carrying twins longer than I carried ds!

still in hospital still waiting to see someone from the chest clinic!!!!

WestCountryLass · 22/03/2007 20:25

Has anyone had a baby yet?

On the subject of In The Night Garden, my two think it is hilarious and spend the entire program wetting themselves laughing

babysopiniontakesover · 22/03/2007 20:29

Hensden - I don't think that decorating and keeping the baby in really go hand in hand somehow?? I think the more comfy they are, they tend to stay put.

Ooogs sorry to hear you're in hospital. Makes you want to get on with it tho doesn't it. I was in the other week and the sound of all the newborns made me very .

Am disppointed on the embarrassing stories front, will think up a few of my own only where to start??

octopussyinyummyeastereggs · 22/03/2007 20:30

hello oooggs hope you are okay.

Nipple tweaking supposed to be good

I can just see you all going to bed tonight with a list of instructions for dp/dhs!

WestCountryLass · 22/03/2007 20:30

Oh, and can I get a bit uppity about all and sundry suggesting raspberry lea tea, pineapples, curry and sex to me, even women at the school gate. I am not due til next Wednesday!!!!!

octopussyinyummyeastereggs · 22/03/2007 20:31

WCL - starting to think school gate lot are looking at me in sympathy - which is pretty bad too!

octopussyinyummyeastereggs · 22/03/2007 20:32
