I have just got a (faint) BFP which, going by ovulation, would give me an EDD of March 2nd.

I recently had two early MC so I'm definitely not getting excited yet - but equally trying to stay positive and believe this one might just stick, hence starting this thread!

This would be my second DC, I have a DD who is 26 months.

Anyone else?!

@Silversun83 welcome and congratulations.

@WiIdfire can I ask have you booked a private scan or are you eligible on the NHS for an early scan at 8 weeks?

OnceUponaMama · 10/07/2017 16:09

Thanks silversun, I was really hoping I'd have a little while before needing proper maternity clothes- I need more leggings and stretchy trousers for right now though!

I started browsing baby essential lists lastnight and was a little overwhelmed by how much is needed and how to use it all!

Loklani I'm debating getting a private scan done to put my mind at ease. In my area they do 'well being' scans from 6 weeks along I think for around the £89 mark - not sure if I should hold out though and stick with the nhs. The 3D type scans in the 3rd trimester look so crazy though! Has anyone ever had one?

SheSaidHeSaid · 10/07/2017 16:17

I wasn't going to but I've booked an early reassurance scan when I get to 7 weeks. I got it on Groupon (the place has brilliant reviews) and it was about £35. Definitely worth looking there if you're thinking of one.

SS81C · 10/07/2017 16:19

@onceuponamama we had loads of stuff last time that we probably didn't need so happy to cast an eye over the list!! Although half the fun of your first is buying all the things......

Doublegloucester · 10/07/2017 16:41

Hi folks
I am 5+2, have a 3 yo dd, who will be almost 4 by 10 March, my due date!

Have been trying for a few months, took pg test Sat, not expecting anything at all and had a surprise!

A bit tired and sore, and a little queasy. Last time morning sickness didn't kick in until week 7 so looking forward to that!

Will devote some time to rtft and getting to know you all Smile

Flatwhite31 · 10/07/2017 17:35

Welcome and congrats @Doublegloucester. Love your username!

I'm 5+5 today, although some websites are now putting me at 6 weeks if i put my conception date in (ie AF would have arrived early due to early ov), as I know the two possible days our bean was conceived.

Now getting nausea immediately after eating, but it isn't too bad, and my appetite is great thankfully. Any tips for sore boobs? Mine are awful at night. I think it's because I'm bra-less, but I really don't want to wear a bra in bed. I don't have big boobs either (quite the opposite!), so god knows how women with big boobs must feel!

@Gracie, hope your scan went well.

@SheSaid, £35 is great! Round here they are all around eighty quid. I can't make my mind up!

whereareyousleep · 10/07/2017 17:59

We too spent lots last time on stuff we didn't need. Also packed loads in hospital bag we didn't need either!

Gracie20 · 10/07/2017 18:08

Embryo with a heartbeat measuring 7 weeks! Still v early but so far so good I guess. They said all looking fine so far but offered follow up in 3 weeks due to history. Thank you for hand holding!

BlueeSpottyTiger · 10/07/2017 18:10

Welcome new ladies!!👋
Hey silver 🤗 oh how very similar regarding our weight lol!

Yay, 17dpo today and did a cb digital to confirm I'm showing 2-3 weeks from conception. I'll do another one on Saturday to confirm 3+ weeks. 4+1 today Grin
Finally spoke with a mw, I'm awaiting my letter for the booking in appointment date.

Gracie20 · 10/07/2017 18:10

Oh and midwife quoted 7% chance of miscarriage at 7 weeks if you see a heartbeat, rising to 2% chance at 8 weeks and 0.6% at 10 weeks. I thought they were reassuring stats.

ZylaB · 10/07/2017 18:13

So today, as well as being shattered, I have gone off th idea of any drink except water (I'd been fine with decaf coffee before) and have sore boobs! My last two pregnancies I was only a bit tired, no other symptoms and lost them. Now either the last two were boys (I know one was from genetic testing) and this is a girl, or it's just positive signs! I had symptoms like this with my daughter and then threw up loads and suspect I will be one amongst few to be really happy if I start being sick lol.
I'm taking it as a positive sign :)

SheSaidHeSaid · 10/07/2017 18:21

Yay Gracie! Fantastic that you had a heartbeat there. Mines also exactly 7 weeks and I'm slightly worried (well, not worried but can't think of better word) that I won't hear one and should have booked a later scan. Never mind.

Excited1103 · 10/07/2017 18:29

How wonderful @Gracie20, congratulations!

ZylaB - I'm sure you're right, it's a good attitude to have.

DancingUnicorn · 10/07/2017 18:33

Fantastic news Gracie. And so pleased they're offering another. I hope this is welcome reassurance for now.

I'll be over 8 when I have mine (I booked private in the end, rather than trying the EPU). Sadly, I was in the less than 2% last time, as it was measuring 9+4. No wonder I get annoyed when people just tell me how 'common' it is.

I'm still feeling anxious about symptoms, although they are slowly but surely starting to appear.

ZylaB · 10/07/2017 18:42

@DancingUnicorn I was in that less than 2% the last two times too. People saying "it's common" really doesn't help does it!

DancingUnicorn · 10/07/2017 18:46

I think they're trying to help. But no, it doesn't! Desperately hoping we're in the much more likely outcome group this time!

Gracie20 · 10/07/2017 18:48

Sorry @ Zyla and dancing. Hope the stats didn't come across as insensitive. Just trying to convince myself all will be ok!

Gracie20 · 10/07/2017 18:49

Sorry @ Zyla and dancing. Hope the stats didn't come across as insensitive. Just trying to convince myself all will be ok!

ZylaB · 10/07/2017 19:19

No Gracie don't worry you weren't at all insensitive:). I was talking about what others had said. :)

Gracie20 · 10/07/2017 19:21

Oh that's good. I think people feel differently about stats. I like them but they are rather meaningless if you're in the 2% of course (I've been there too in 2012). Sticky beans to all!!!

Flatwhite31 · 10/07/2017 19:23

Ah that's great news @Gracie. Anyone else knackered? I'm SO tired today. Found work really hard going. Thank god I am on summer hols soon.

DancingUnicorn · 10/07/2017 19:28

No, Gracie. I cling to the stats!!! Last time was just really shit luck. I have to cling to that thought, otherwise I'll go insane!

Flat I'm shattered, dunno how you are coping with teaching. Hopefully after summer hols you'll be in the energetic phase!

BlueeSpottyTiger · 10/07/2017 19:32

Great news gracie x

stumblymonkeyagain · 10/07/2017 20:00

On the subject of stats I found this link on another thread which shows how the stats play out as each day passes.

I'm just using it to remind me to take each day as it comes and that each passing day reduces the risk that bit more...but yeah, stats don't really help if you find yourself on the side you don't want to be on.

I can't wait to have an early scan...I was going to leave it to 8 weeks but might go for 7 instead. Still only 4+5 and time is passing sooooo slowly!
