I have just got a (faint) BFP which, going by ovulation, would give me an EDD of March 2nd.

I recently had two early MC so I'm definitely not getting excited yet - but equally trying to stay positive and believe this one might just stick, hence starting this thread!

This would be my second DC, I have a DD who is 26 months.

Anyone else?!

@SheSaidHeSaid no I've not had that. But my best friend got it both times. In fact she knew she was pregnant the 2nd time because of the taste!

I just called the community hospital where my midwife will be based and I got told they'll be in touch by week 8. Gosh don't weeks suddenly seem a long time!

Excited1103 · 10/07/2017 12:32

@SS81C - I registered online, just searched on Google for "register maternity" and the name of my area + hospital. It sounds like whether you can or not might vary a bit per NHS district. I haven't heard back yet apart from the email confirmation.

Excited1103 · 10/07/2017 12:34

@lokelani - yes, weeks feel like ages to me too.

SS81C · 10/07/2017 12:50

@excited....ive spoken to the GP surgery and I can't self refer so I have to see the GP first and they've told me to go to a drop in clinic - I just can't face the thought of sitting in a waiting room for an age with a toddler feeling sick just to see the GP for them to refer me to the midwife....which is probably why I haven't gone yet! Haha!

stumblymonkeyagain · 10/07/2017 12:50

Sadly my appetite is still very much here, I'm already a fatty so trying not to snack too much!

stumblymonkeyagain · 10/07/2017 12:51

And I'm so bloated I got offered a seat on the tube this morning!

Still took it, I AM pregnant after all Grin

Excited1103 · 10/07/2017 12:55

Hahaha @stumblymonkey, maybe I should poke my tummy out hopefully tomorrow.

@SS81C - how annoying!

ZylaB · 10/07/2017 13:02

Still here, 4+4 now and shattered. Taking each week as it comes and trying to be positive, in fact I think I'll call the midwives this afternoon :)

GWeatherwax · 10/07/2017 13:11

I hear ya stumblymonkey! I'm quite scared of putting on too much weight especially 1st trimester (my mother was a size 8 and put on 4 stone with me), I'm allready a chubster and I'm eating more than usual to try get in more veg/protein/good fats.

I'm sure with that and my bloat (and my paluszki addiction) my co-workers suspect I am pregnant..

GWeatherwax · 10/07/2017 13:17

*already

BlueeSpottyTiger · 10/07/2017 13:26

gweather i went from 8st6 size 8 to 10st10 last time 🙈
Only just lost all the weight now to 8st2. Dreading putting it all back on.. the good thing is i only started to excercise 3 weeks before my bfp.. i lost it all breastfeeding 🤗

SheSaidHeSaid · 10/07/2017 13:32

I just self referred using the form online. I'd previously called a local maternity unit to refer and been told I had to wait until 6 weeks (this Wed), however, the form I got online said from 5 weeks so I've done that now.

I'm really bloated too. I ended up caving on Saturday and telling someone who kept pestering me about why I wasn't drinking (to stop her going on about it in front of other people) and other than being happy, one of her responses was that she 'knew it' as I looked a bit bigger than my usual self.... great.

Also found out that someone else who ended up staying over that night had gone into a bathroom cabinet in one of my spare bathrooms and helped herself to a new tube of toothpaste which was sitting next to a packet of (in the process of being used) pregnancy vitamins. I'd moved them from the kitchen to that cupboard thinking no one would go in there, especially as no one was originally going to stay at mine. I don't know who it was though, it was one of two girls and neither has said anything even though there was no way they wouldn't have seen the vitamins.

This is turning out to be the world's worst kept secret.

lokelani · 10/07/2017 13:44

@SheSaidHeSaid

I had a friend who to this day believes she convinced our group of girlfriends that she had flu for 3 months... we all knew but it was her call to say something. Just like this is ours.

I'm sure my best friend guessed on Saturday when I saw her.

Silversun83 · 10/07/2017 13:44

Hi all, tentatively checking in Smile Got my BFP on Friday and I'm now 4 weeks today! EDD of 19 March.

If all goes okay, this will be our second DC. DD will be 14 months on 20th. We originally weren't planning on a less than two year age gap but it took nearly a year to conceive DD so thought we should get cracking.. Turns out we're a bit more fertile this time around! Took two attempts on first cycle Blush

I am also very very bloated! Definitely noticing it a lot more this time around though I did read somewhere that that is actually a thing.

Hi Blue! My weight gain was very similar to yours actually.. I started at 8 stone 8 (though lost 3lbs in first trimester due to nausea!), final weight was 10 stone 6 I think? And am now around 8 stone 1. (Though lost 10lbs straight away as DD was 8lbs 8oz!)

Will have a proper read back soon Smile

Silversun83 · 10/07/2017 14:09

Sorry to hear about your miscarriage sunny Sad

Re sickness on commutes.. I have a 3.5 hour round trip and last time the only thing that stopped me throwing up in the train toilet was sucking on double lollies (or pretty much any sweet!).

Here we have to leave our details with the GP receptionist and they get the midwife to contact us. Not done that yet though will probably do this week.

whereareyousleep · 10/07/2017 14:21

Yeah I think you can but the sickness bands from most places I don't know how I'm. It going to tell work until 12 weeks as I could do with wearing them now but my work tops are short sleeved.

Still can't get registered with midwife it's driving me mad now.

PandaCat · 10/07/2017 14:22

I'm going to phone my surgery sometime next week and ask how I go about booking with the midwife. I can't remember how it worked last time 🙈

Gracie20 · 10/07/2017 14:38

I'm 36. I have been rubbish at posting again sorry but I do read all the posts everyday.

@sunnycoco, I'm so sorry. I had a mc in Feb and it was just before my daughter turned 3. We have also been trying for a year. I remember that my daughter turning 3 felt like a big milestone and I was worried about the age gap. I'm so sorry, it is truly rubbish. I really hope that you get pregnant again soon and that it sticks.

I have my 7 week scan today at 4pm. Exactly 7 weeks. I'm quite nervous. I am convinced symptoms have decreased since last week. I'm worried they will tell me that baby has stopped developing. Also selfishly (and this is awful) I am going on holiday next week and I really really don't want to have to cancel or have a miscarriage while I am away. Sorry, I'm being negative but after two previous mc I can't help it. Need a handhold! No bleeding at the moment = good sign right??!!

Silversun83 · 10/07/2017 14:46

Keeping my fingers crossed for you @Gracie20. So sorry to hear about your previous miscarriages.

SheSaidHeSaid · 10/07/2017 14:51

Need a handhold!

Holding your hand over here and keeping everything crossed for a positive and happy scan.

Excited1103 · 10/07/2017 14:55

Oh wow, a scan already, the first of this group I think? Good luck @Gracie20, hope it goes well x

OnceUponaMama · 10/07/2017 15:06

About the weight gain.... i know how some of you feel! I'm out of my jeans already 🙈 I'm feeling really bloated all of the time!

Will the bloat go down or will I just get bigger as baby grows? (I'm on the hunt for leggings and elasticated trousers already) When did you first buy maternity clothes with your first babies?

OnceUponaMama · 10/07/2017 15:07

Good luck with your scan gracie!

Silversun83 · 10/07/2017 15:31

Once... I think the bloat mostly goes away towards the end of the first trimester and then you may have a few weeks grace before the baby starts getting bigger. As I said though, I didn't really suffer with bloating last time so this is all new! I didn't have a bump for ages last time but the first thing I bought was a pair of maternity jeans around 13/14 weeks? I would urge caution about buying too much too soon as you do change size and shape sooo much and the first pair I bought no longer fit around 28 weeks.. So it's best to buy as and when you need it. Tops were generally okay but I must have spent a fortune on jeans and leggings in a multitude of sizes!

WiIdfire · 10/07/2017 15:34

Sorry to hear your update sunnycoco. Hope you are ok.

Gracie - good luck with the scan, just booked mine in for next Monday. I read that a healthy feotus at 8 weeks means a 94% chance of successful pregnancy (or something like that) so fingers crossed for the early scans.

Anyone else still breastfeeding their last? Wondering if we will end up tandem feeding or if toddler will be put off by the whole thing!
