I have just got a (faint) BFP which, going by ovulation, would give me an EDD of March 2nd.

I recently had two early MC so I'm definitely not getting excited yet - but equally trying to stay positive and believe this one might just stick, hence starting this thread!

This would be my second DC, I have a DD who is 26 months.

Anyone else?!

Sorry to hear that SunnyCoco. Is there anything you can do this week to take care of yourself?

Flowers

Anyone have any ideas for morning sickness on public transport? I have a nearly four hour return commute everyday and was nearly sick at a tube station this morning.

They don't have bins or anything. Can you buy sick bags? What have other people done?

SunnyCoco · 10/07/2017 09:33

Thanks @Excited1103 I don't have a problem getting pregnant, it's just keep miscarrying

BlueeSpottyTiger · 10/07/2017 09:38

Oh sunny i am so so sorry to hear this Flowers it's really tough to go through. I hope you have lots of support. Take care xx

whereareyousleep · 10/07/2017 09:48

Really sorry to hear that sunnycoco take care of yourself.

I found sea sick bands the best thing for the commute I had a 3 hour commute last pregnancy and they were a life saver.

Excited1103 · 10/07/2017 10:02

@SunnyCoco - hypothyroidism, some infections etc can cause miscarriages as well, though it might just be that you were unlucky. Hope it works out for you soon x

@whereareyousleep - can you get seasickness bands at any chemist? I've been slightly sick in my mouth a few times now, so I'm worried it'll start soon.

Enariva · 10/07/2017 10:15

Hi everyone

Found out I'm pregnant a week ago but trying to put it to the back of my mind because I have an exam tomorrow, but procrastinating now.
I already have a 17 month old and my EDD is 9th March 2018.
Excited but anxious like everyone else. We're holding off telling family for now, but they will probably guess!

Enariva · 10/07/2017 10:32

I had a three hour commute last time too. The travel sickness bands and boiled sweets worked at first, but I was sick for about 5 months on the bus.
I bought some vomit bags from Amazon, Carebags I think they were called. They were good but expensive.
I hated being pregnant last time because of that. Just having nausea now and again so far. Hoping to enjoy it more this time but we shall see!

lokelani · 10/07/2017 10:38

Is anyone else experiencing hip/back ache. I have this dull ache on my right hand side radiating from the back just above my bum through to my front and up by my belly button. A quick bit of googling suggests it's ligaments stretching?

I just popped to my doctors and was told I will hear from a midwife by week 12. That seems like such a long wait to get some medical contact? I've not seen a doctor or nurse or anything. My area do self referral to midwife services.

ChaoticKate · 10/07/2017 10:50

@lokelani I'm getting some backache and hip pain but I get that periodically anyway because of my terrible posture and desk job.

I'm finding that I'm absolutely starving in between bouts of nausea but I've completely gone off anything I would normally snack on. A belvita just got hurled in the bin because all of a sudden they taste completely vile.

mamasiz · 10/07/2017 10:58

Anyone experiencing a complete lack of appetite? It could be the nausea, but even without it I don't feel hungry. Having to force myself to eat! Also, my sense of smell has increased so much where it seems I can smell everything around me 🤢

lokelani · 10/07/2017 11:02

@ChaoticKate yes hip ache is something I've suffered with before but not recently. I've got a hot water bottle (despite this heat!) on it now. Hoping it subsides. I went for a run this morning and it didn't hurt.

Food rise I'm ok. Although I've gone off blueberries weirdly (I have them every morning). I always struggle at lunch cos I don't eat bread or pasta. Normally go for a big Greek salad but no feta is proving very challenging! Humus appears to be a good substitute. Im also staggering my eating so I've already had a bit of lunch (carrots and humus) and will go back for some more in a bit. Lots of little snacks is helping keep the nausea at bay. I got a few of those Nakd fruit snack bars and they have been great too.

Excited1103 · 10/07/2017 11:04

Good luck with your exam @Enariva.

The increased sense of smell is what seems to set off my nausea @mamasiz, I'm dreading the train and tube tomorrow.

SS81C · 10/07/2017 11:07

I'm alternating between starving and literally no apetite....ive just eaten 2 maple pecan slices in about 94 seconds and wishing I hadn't! Haha!

@lokelani - it's rubbish but it's kind of how it is these days.....if something is worrying or bothering you though in that time you can make an appointment to see your GP-dont feel like you can't because they've told you to self refer

So sorry @sunnycoco

ChaoticKate · 10/07/2017 11:10

@mamasiz my appetite disappeared last week but yesterday afternoon and today for some reason it's back with bells on! It shouldn't surprise me really, I have a fast metabolism anyway and anything that puts additional stress on my system always sends my appetite through the roof. Problem is that I'm starving but nothing seems that palatable.

SS81C · 10/07/2017 11:10

@lokilani most feta is made from pasteurised milk so is absolutely fine to eat in pregnancy!

lokelani · 10/07/2017 11:15

@SS81C really?!?!

SS81C · 10/07/2017 11:30

Yup @lokilani
www.nhs.uk/conditions/pregnancy-and-baby/pages/foods-to-avoid-pregnant.aspx
NHS website says it's A-O-K!

SS81C · 10/07/2017 11:32

(Obviously just check its made from pasturised milk - most supermarket ones are)

lokelani · 10/07/2017 11:35

Yes!!!! #stuffsfacewithcheese

SS81C · 10/07/2017 11:48

@Loki hahahahha. You'll probably go right off it now you know you can have it.

lokelani · 10/07/2017 11:49

@SS81C yeah I'm sure you're right!

BlueeSpottyTiger · 10/07/2017 11:50

Yumm Feta..Love it! Eat it almost everyday.

I can't get through to the mw office to arrange booking in! Has everyone sorted theirs? X

Veinarde · 10/07/2017 11:56

Hi all! Im 5 weeks 3 days today and woke up feeling like bad hangover! Just without headache. So weak, tired, no appetite. I guess that could be a version of 'morning sickness' Grin

SS81C · 10/07/2017 11:57

@bluespotty.....not yet and I really must get a wiggle on....
can you leave a message?

SheSaidHeSaid · 10/07/2017 12:07

I've been getting a funny metallic taste in my mouth for the past couple of days. Almost like I've licked a battery but not as strong. Has anyone else had this? It's not too annoying, just odd.
