I have just got a (faint) BFP which, going by ovulation, would give me an EDD of March 2nd.

I recently had two early MC so I'm definitely not getting excited yet - but equally trying to stay positive and believe this one might just stick, hence starting this thread!

This would be my second DC, I have a DD who is 26 months.

Anyone else?!

I'm having one cup in the morning but it's not enough!!

BlueeSpottyTiger · 09/07/2017 16:09

Im sleeping 'like a baby' 😘 atm.
For the entire 3rd trimester last time i had insomia and was awake all night. In the morning i would fall asleep for a few hours... it was awful! Good job i was signed off, i couldn't have gone to work.

Excited1103 · 09/07/2017 16:11

@lokelani - you're right, I was mainlining coffee due to being exhausted all last week and some of the week before, some of the time I didn't know I was pregnant and the rest I didn't know caffeine had to be moderated until I finally had time Friday afternoon to read up on what I could / could not eat.
It'll be good to know when you hear back about midwife and scan, hope something comes next week.

Excited1103 · 09/07/2017 16:11

@Fizzie100 - one cup can never be enough!

mamasiz · 09/07/2017 16:33

Taylor's of Harrogate do a great decaf coffee - no buzz, but it has a good taste. I've been drinking rooibos tea instead of regular and it's quite nice, especially the vanilla flavour. Whatever I drink I'm in the bathroom about 30 mins later! Blush

Summerblush1982 · 09/07/2017 16:49

Hey ladies can I join?
I found out last Monday I was pregnant. Did a first response followed by a few more!!! It's my first pregnancy and very anxious. I hope it sticks around. We had been trying for a year and 3 months!!!! What a surprise! My app tells me I'm due 14 march 2018! Got my first appointment with midwife next Friday! Shes already booked me in for my first scan for the end of August!!!
Would love to share experience and symptoms. I don't feel like there's anything in there at the moment...I know is way too early!!

GiveMeTheTeaAndNobodyGetsHurt · 09/07/2017 16:55

I'm more of a tea drinker generally, but can easily drink 6+ large mugs per day Shock I'm allowing myself two mugs per day, then decaff after that. Trying to drink more water too, so am spending more time in the bathroom than normal!

Re registering with a midwife, our area does self-referral but they won't register you before 6 weeks. Which means I'll be phoning first thing on Tuesday (it's in my diary and everything). I can't wait to register, as it doesn't feel real yet - everything else is just continuing as normal, so my bfp feels a bit like a dream. Does anyone else get paranoid that they've made a massive mistake and misread the test (I've taken 3 of the buggers, and they're not hard to read Hmm ), or is that just me?

GiveMeTheTeaAndNobodyGetsHurt · 09/07/2017 17:01

Welcome Summerblush1982!

I just remembered I meant to ask, does anyone have a recommendation for a pregnancy app? I really want a British one, but can only find ones with constant references to Mommy, choosing a midwife, and baby showers...

Flatwhite31 · 09/07/2017 17:01

It might be from stopping caffeine @Excited1103. I only ever had one cup of coffee a day before (or two at the weekend), so I haven't found it too bad. I have had the odd bit of caffeine here and there though. I went out for breakfast today with my brother and family and had a flat white, as we haven't told them yet! I know they would have suspected something if I'd ordered decaff, as I never order decaff. I felt really really shaky earlier all of a sudden. Think it was low blood sugar, as it got better after eating something. Think I'll have to have a stash of snacks ready in my desk drawer at work from tomorrow onwards!

Summerblush1982 · 09/07/2017 17:08

I have Ovia pregnancy downloaded as well as baby centre. Have you tried these?

stumblymonkeyagain · 09/07/2017 17:09

I was a caffeine addict and have cut down to just a couple of diet cokes a day (I've been having decaf lattes).

TBH I haven't really been that tired although I keep pretending I am to DP so I can have a lie down and read a book but that's just because I'm lazy Grin

Excited1103 · 09/07/2017 17:24

That sounds like a great plan @stumblymonkeyagain, what are you reading?

GiveMeTheTeaAndNobodyGetsHurt · 09/07/2017 17:47

I like your style, stumblymonkeyagain! Grin

I have installed babycentre, thanks, Summerblush1982.

GiveMeTheTeaAndNobodyGetsHurt · 09/07/2017 17:49

Thanks for the recommendation, I meant, not a sarcastic 'thanks, I've already got it', which I think it read as. Sorry! Blush

SS81C · 09/07/2017 17:53

I'm 36 this is my second....
I'm exhausted...
I'm usually a prolific tea drinker which I always thought I'd struggle with pregnancy but I go right off it when I'm pregnant so it's fine.....

lokelani · 09/07/2017 18:06

@GiveMeTheTeaAndNobodyGetsHurt re paranoia- yes me! I've taken photos of the tests and keep looking back at them. I've read the instructions multiple times. I have them in my bathroom cupboard still!

I tried the bounty app and deleted it almost straight away. Ovia is quite good - I like the articles etc and it has a detailed list of foods and products and whether they are safe or not.

I also have pregnancy+ which has weekly and daily updates. On the weekly one there is a piece to the partner which DH read and took onboard! But I think after a while they will charge you for using it?! Anyway UK app recommendations would be handy.

GiveMeTheTeaAndNobodyGetsHurt · 09/07/2017 18:54

I might try the pregnancy+ one, too. I hate anything to do with Bounty; it's all so bloody patronising. Angry

OnceUponaMama · 09/07/2017 19:14

pandacat blueespottytiger yay I'm glad there are other girls my age on here and older girls! I could literally do with all the advice going!

I second the ovia app, I like the baby size comparison feature on it! 4 weeks baby is a poppy seed- 5 weeks (tomorrow for me) baby will be a sesame seed!

Is anyone else feeling extremely tired? I can't wait for bed each night and could easily take a nap each day if I could!

Girls who have already had a baby - would you recommend registering for the bounty packs or not? I've heard they have lots of adverts in them!

DancingUnicorn · 09/07/2017 19:16

I'm soooooooo exhausted. Been out all afternoon at a mostly sitting event. I feel like I could sleep forever.

SheSaidHeSaid · 09/07/2017 19:18

Today is the first day that I haven't had a cup of tea until right this second and I've got a terrible headache. I'm sure it's because of no caffeine whereas since I found out I was pregnant I was limiting myself to two a day, one in the morning and one in the evening. Waiting till 7pm for your first cuppa when you previously used to have at about 5 or 6 a day isn't working for me.

Flatwhite31 · 09/07/2017 19:37

@Dancing I'm the same today. So tired! Taking 60 kids on a school trip on Wednesday, then back to school for a parents' evening! The thought of that right now...Shock

SS81C · 09/07/2017 19:40

@onceuponamama....they have some quite good freebies and you can ignore the crap......

I'm feeling awful today.....not sure if it's the heat or being run ragged by my bonkers toddler but I'm seriously contemplating going to bed.. ......

Pinky333777 · 09/07/2017 19:50

Just popped in to say hi and join this thread. I think my EDD will be around March 18th.
I'm very excited! I'm 36 and have worked as a nanny looking after everyone else's children for many years. This will be the first one of my very own.
I can't wait! 😊😊😊❤️❤️❤️
I'm looking forward to telling my charges at work in a couple of months, well the girls anyway. They're 12,12,10,8,8 and 4 (different families!) They keep asking me now and again if I want babies 😀
The boys (14,5,4) probably won't care much lol, although the 4yr old does seem to like babies at the moment 😊
Not sure how their parents will react to the news of nanny needing maternity leave 🤔🙃😊

Speechie14 · 09/07/2017 20:01

Congratulations Pinky. That sounds like a busy job!

OnceUponaMamma. The tiny pots of nappy cream are handy for changing bags but that was about it.

GiveMeTheTeaAndNobodyGetsHurt · 09/07/2017 20:19

OnceUponAMama, I think I threw almost everything away from my Bounty pack - the information overload and hard-sell tactics really weren't worth the freebies, IMO. I don't know if they still do this, but when I had DD, they went into maternity wards and badgered women, who were often only a few hours post-natal, trying to get them to sign up to things and to buy overpriced photos of their newborns. There was a massive drive on mn to try to get them banned from doing this but I've no idea if it was successful. Needless to say I am now very anti-Bounty!
