I have just got a (faint) BFP which, going by ovulation, would give me an EDD of March 2nd.

I recently had two early MC so I'm definitely not getting excited yet - but equally trying to stay positive and believe this one might just stick, hence starting this thread!

This would be my second DC, I have a DD who is 26 months.

Anyone else?!

It's hard isn't it. I think I will tell some people before 12 weeks. I told work at 9 last time. It was early, but was so much easier having them know why I looked like shit!

I think I'm going to plan as well. Just with the knowledge that the plans might not come through. It's too huge for nothing to have changed. One day at a time, but I'm trying to believe it will work this time. today that is working

GWeatherwax · 08/07/2017 07:21

It's like everything has changed and nothing has changed at the same time.

This, so much.

Aaw, kitties! We've a house cat and I've developed an insane, multi-level disinfecting/sanitizing routine to deal with the litter.

GWeatherwax · 08/07/2017 07:26

Veinarde
As it'll be lunch time drinks I'd say you need to drive later on (that's the excuse I'm using next Friday anyway).

GiveMeTheTeaAndNobodyGetsHurt · 08/07/2017 08:29

Thanks for the spreadsheet, Dancing!

This thread is moving way too fast for me, I can't keep up Shock

Hope everyone is well - my boobs are KILLING me, but no nausea yet...

Flatwhite31 · 08/07/2017 08:37

Morning everyone! I don't go on my phone at work unless I have to make a call, so that's a good 9-10 hours of the day of missed messages, so apologies if I've missed lots of you! Hope you're all well. Lovely to hear about people getting appointment dates through Smile.

@Givemethetea - you sound exactly like me! Really sore boobs (mine are particularly bad at night and first thing in the morning when I have no bra on) but no real nausea yet. How far along are you again?

GiveMeTheTeaAndNobodyGetsHurt · 08/07/2017 08:40

As for telling people, that's really hard - we've told our parents, siblings, and their partners, but asked them not to tell their children until we've told DD - doesn't seem right that DD's cousins should know she's going to be a big sister before she does! We can't tell her yet because she'd tell the whole nursery, as three year olds are not known for their ability to keep secrets Grin DH is wavering though, and wants to tell her before the scan, so there's an ongoing debate in our house!

GiveMeTheTeaAndNobodyGetsHurt · 08/07/2017 08:42

Flatwhite31, I'm 5+4 I think - EDD 16th Smile

lokelani · 08/07/2017 09:30

@GiveMeTheTeaAndNobodyGetsHurt gosh yes my boobs hurt so much. I could have cried the other night when I took my bra off!

I've got an underlying sense of Nausea, smells are starting to bother me, and I feel tired. But I did manage a short run this morning.

We were discussing telling my mum & dad and sister. I want to. But i also know know excited they'll all be and I'm not sure I'm ready for that. Maybe once we've spoken to a midwife?

Have good Saturdays everyone! Xx

ChaoticKate · 08/07/2017 09:35

@GWeatherwax (love the username!) We have an indoor only cat who never eats dead animals and never comes into contact with other cats so I'm hoping that means we're pretty low risk on the toxo front.

BlueeSpottyTiger · 08/07/2017 09:40

Lokelani i was soooo close to telling my mum yesterday. She lost her mum(my grandma) 1month ago and i know it's something that would really cheer her up. She knows we are trying all my close fam does but i think I'll wait abit longer..if i can!
givemetea my cousins actually told my sister and i that we was gonna have a baby brother before my mum did 😐.. i was 9 and my sister was 7. I can still remember that it made me really upset.

Hope everyone is well, and has a lovely Saturday! 🤗 x

First day of feeling so sick today 🤢

Flatwhite31 · 08/07/2017 09:45

We haven't told anyone yet. My brother, nephew and sister in law are here, but I'm going to wait until we are all together next month with my parents. The only person outside the family that knows is my GP, which is, erm, essential really! Got my staff BBQ on the last day of term on 21st July where there's always alcohol. Luckily I'll have my car, so my 'not drinking excuse' will be that I have to drive!
@Givemethetea, I'm 5+3 from date of my last period, so we are really close together!

Veinarde · 08/07/2017 09:54

DancingUnicorn wow amazing job putting those names together! Thank you!
My EDD is 9th March.

Reading my leaving drinks I'll tell them I have a job interview to go to Grin don't care if they buy it or not hehe
I don't drive otherwise a winner!

Do you ladies drink coffee? I'm really struggling not to, my tiredness is so bad I cannot function. I have a latte or flat white once a day but drink a smaller cup or I don't finish it. Brew

Veinarde · 08/07/2017 09:58

Regarding telling people we told both parents and DH's and my brother as we are very close.

Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend! It's my DH's birthday we have some nice things planned Smile

stumblymonkeyagain · 08/07/2017 10:33

I'm a coffee addict. I've managed to switch to decaf caramel lattes but haven't been able to give up my Diet Coke habit.

I'm now trying to intersperse Diet Coke with other drinks though as I was having 1-2L per day plus 1-3 lattes ShockBlush

I haven't noticed any withdrawal effects TBH. I'm finding that I'm very, very thirsty all of the time but that could be the hot weather rather than the pregnancy.

stumblymonkeyagain · 08/07/2017 10:33

Is anyone else suffering in the heat?

I'm sweating like a pig, much more than usual which I assume is because my temp will be up a bit.

DancingUnicorn · 08/07/2017 10:45

Stumbly I'm soooo thirsty ATM. Getting through 3-4 pints of water at work and another couple in the evenings!!

I felt a bit sick yesterday and generally off today. My boobs don't hurt though, which is worrying me, but I guess everything is a cause for concern at this point! I I'm a bit more aware of them, so maybe the pain will be just around the corner.

We are planning to tell parents at the end of the month. There is a rare date when we're all together, which will be nice. Planning to get a private scan the week before. It's still going to be before the point at which my last pregnancy stopped progressing, so won't provide too much reassurance, but I think will help. my best friend knows though because I couldn't lie to her face

RoosMummy2012 · 08/07/2017 11:18

We were in two minds to tell our son so soon but seeing as he's used to me carrying him and him jumping all over me we told him about baby and he's been so well behaved. He's super excited and got to break the news to both sets of his grandparents who are also really pleased. I told my best friend because, well she knows everything!

I think that's everyone we will tell until after the 12 week scan though. I'm more nervous this pregnancy than with my first, I guess since then close friends and relatives have experienced a still birth and miscarriages which has put me on edge a bit.

Anyone else experiencing an achey uterus?? I don't remember having it with my first but that was five years ago now!!

GWeatherwax · 08/07/2017 11:22

Thanks ChaoticKate Grin yes, that sounds like an incredibly low toxo risk so you should be fine. Ours gets out to the garden on a nice day and other cats are often in about so I'll err on the side of caution.

I looove coffee but I've went off it a bit. I'm having one strong cup in the morning (to keep me regular like Wink) but that's it. Just water and fresh OJ otherwise!

I have no symptoms at all unicorn other than getting up to pee in the night and the odd cramping, I'll be 5 weeks tomorrow.

I'm too scared to tell anyone yet, only DH knows...

BlueeSpottyTiger · 08/07/2017 11:23

I love a coffee.. but I have only had 1 starbucks in the last week where i requested only 1 shot of coffee rather than the 2 that is usually in a mocha.
I've been having 2 cups of tea a day.. but they only have 40mg per cup and we can have 200mg can't we!?
I dont drink fizzy drinks like coke really anyway so that's okay..
I'm so shattered around 2pm i can't not have a cup of tea.

Fefifoefum · 08/07/2017 11:31

Hope you're all having a good weekend, was going to be doing some painting today? However a quick google says no before 14 weeks?! Seems a bit extreme, we really need to crack on so I can get the carpets etc in!

We have told both of our mums, but we're both really close to our mamas and our dads both aren't in the picture.
I'm less tired, I think?! Or just had a lighter week at work? Not sure!

Definite aches uterus, been getting mild crampy type things the whole time. Going to see my friends newborn later that'll be nice Smile

Fefifoefum · 08/07/2017 11:35

Oh! The coffee thing is a bit of thing, I don't think I appreciated just how much I drank previously. I'd have one cup before work, one cup when I got to work, one cup on each of my 3 breaks. And nights, good god, I'd constantly have a cup.
Cutting right back to 1 cup has been really challenging, maybe that's why I'm less tired?! I've finished withdrawing from coffee and the cigs!

Also.... anybody else er.... really bloody constipated?!

DancingUnicorn · 08/07/2017 11:46

Not yet fefi but I understand it's really common! Apparently bran flakes....

stumblymonkeyagain · 08/07/2017 12:02

Very achey, crampy womb here. No major pains so I'm not worried about it but, yes, I'm definitely aware that there's something going on down there!

Boobs are less sore today. I haven't had much tiredness yet apart from yesterday when I was working from home but couldn't keep my eyes open. Went for a 'quick nap' at lunchtime and woke up at 6pm Blush

Hope no-one noticed!

lokelani · 08/07/2017 12:25

@BlueeSpottyTiger oh yes that would be nice to tell her wouldn't it. Sorry to hear about your loss too.

I've just remembered my parents are going on a quite long holiday leaving in 10 days. We have a big family birthday next weekend too where all my immediate family (small unit of 4 people) will be there. Do I tell them all then? Eek.

@Fefifoefum get some green veggies in you. I have read it's a symptom. But also giving up the coffee will probably have a bit of an effect too?

Today I seem to be mainly hungry. And on the verge of tears. What is everyone snacking on? I'm not a snacker at all so I'm hoping a big bag of carrot sticks and a tub of humous consumed over a few hours will do the trick!

DancingUnicorn · 08/07/2017 12:31

I've been eating sooooo much. But mostly crisps and sweets! Very naughty!!
